  1. You've never heard of David Bowie? x NOMs are in, thanks for the reminder Rob. I'm away for a few days now but if I've made a stupid error in my votes just sub in my actual votes from the time please.
  2. Well at least No Sleeep managed to defy their username and actually get some sleep! This is exactly the point, nuance. It's impossible to have any kind of nuanced debate here or on social media without the full picture/context, and people going from zero to NONCE in seconds is unhelpful to say the least. The point also made earlier about how others like Rylan have had their reputation dragged through the mud is also depressing and shameful, I think The Sun knew perfectly what they were doing when they ran/exaggerated the story but declined to name the person accused of criminality. Sadly social media platforms have been built around monitising anger and fear, there is little genuine concern from these people about the welfare of the young people involved nor anybody else that this media storm will have affected negatively, all about the clicks and advertising revenue and then 'move on, nothing to see here'.
  3. Well we simply don't know that do we? I also still don't quite understand how some 20 y/o supposed OnlyFans twink managed to lawyer up and slap down The Sun but here we are.
  4. Furthermore, the actual person involved directly messaged The Sun before they ran the story on Friday to explain the claims being made were 'rubbish' and that they were estranged from their parents. This was totally ignored.
  5. Agreed- however this as it stands isn't enough 'tea' on its own to justify starting a national campaign to hound and bully someone into revealing a part of themselves that they are not at all comfortable with, and as a consequence have suffered decades of mental health issues from. As Owen Jones has written (much more eloquently than me) tonight, The Sun is fortunate not to have blood on its hands. Just a thought.
  6. @1679204018428555264 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66165001 Latest in Boris reneging on a promise non-shock of the week.
  7. Not all fabricated, so you do accept that The Sun have exaggerated certain aspects of the story to justify running it then? You're creating a strawman argument here, nobody is defending what he has done or indeed thinks it was all totally fine. I just think you are making some pretty wild and serious accusations which you don't have any evidence to support- from what we know so far (and this is mostly one-sided remember), he is not a predator.. an incredibly stupid man, yes absolutely - but this is totally different to the recent Phillip Schofield case, which was controlling, coercisve/ manipulative and an example of grooming. Agreed with others here- reporting has been incredibly homophobic. It's all a distraction anyway, from whatever shitshow the Government are covering up today. Edit- never thought I'd be on the same page as Rooney in a debate!
  8. I do agree with you that there is a massive power imbalance there, which is why I said what he did was incredibly stupid, though technically it wasn't wrong or criminal, though obviously morally is a different story. I just feel incredibly sad that he suffers so much shame that he never felt comfortable coming out. I remember John Nicolson coming out in the early 2000s when he was a newsreader on BBC 1 and at the time the BBC weren't very supportive, so that and the fact that apparently he's from a strongly Catholic family probably means he's struggled with it for a long time.
  9. Can we please tone down the insensitive and offensive language being used? Particularly as we don't know many details and there has been no evidence of any criminality by anyone in this tragic story. I just feel sad. I feel sorry for everyone involved in this story. I believe that The Sun deliberately weaponised a story and encouraged a pile-on, which had it done due diligence would have shown it to be of limited public interest, to deliberately attack the BBC and destroy someone's life. I don't excuse how Huw Edwards behaved, and he has a lot to work through no doubt. It is completely inexcusable and incredibly stupid - but I don't see a predatory and manipulative man. I see a sad, lonely and closeted man who has struggled with significant mental health issues for many years and has now been hounded by the British press to a very dark place. I hope that he gets the care that he needs, and I hope that all parties reflect on what has been going on over the past few days. This is not to minimise the impacts that the young people involved have suffered, that is equally upsetting of course.
  10. Revive the economy... that she crashed? Love that for her.
  11. Poté <3 Thanks for the heads-up on that, I've been following him for a few years now but this is the best track I've heard to-date. I can't quite put my finger on it but the vocal melody in “Now U Do” reminds me of a random Aqua album track for some reason, it's another banger obv - although not quite challenging “On & On (Again)” which remains one of my favourite tracks of '23. Voted for DJ HEARTSTRING - check out previous single “Never Let Me Go” which samples Taylor Dayne (“Tell It to My Heart”) and sounds like the most leww (Aeroche) track ever!

  13. Congrats Kath - smashing it rn. CB win incoming for the triple?! Fab Top 3, voted for all, though I did know the jellyskin track before this contest so my max points went to James Shinra. Thank you for hosting Cody x
  14. I've gone for some Welsh pop w/breakbeats which sounds semi-Grimes adjacent..
  15. I love this, it's obviously a lot more intimate and more chill than Fontaines D.C., but it has really impressed me. I'm particularly enjoying “Fairlies” and “All Of The People”. <3 “Fairlies” is such an earworm. Va3yJwkVEFs
  16. rly enjoyed this edition, lots of great discoveries that I'll be taking away ~ Also, as attention to detail goes, v much enjoyed the actual 'wilhelm scream' making an appearance in the wild during “PSYCHO” !

  18. Nope, think the closest was in 1906 - when the PM resigned, a new government took over and immediately called an election in which the (now former) PM then lost their seat. New Omnisis poll gives Labour a 26 pt lead which would translate to a *wait for it* four hundred and eighty-two (482) seat majority. Total wipeout for the Tories. *.* LAB 51% (+3) CON 25% (-1) LD 8% (-) REF 5% (-2) GRN 5% (-) SNP 3% (-1)

Here it is: ogYC-8hs870 Enjoying it a lot, the frantic drums complement the vocals well, I also enjoy the lush strings near the end, and yeah I've missed that voice so much. I still think “Blood On Me” should have been an absolutely colossal hit, was a massive multi-week personal chart number 1 for me.
  22. Great to have them back, really enjoyed their performance of this at Glastonbury. oAPdv7tqwYs I'd heartily recommend giving this video a watch~ it's a good intro oRFgx0YMXAw
  23. It went dark for me on Friday (I don't have an account and use nitter to view/follow people I rate), can't say I missed it all that much. Hopefully a much better rival arises from the ashes (and not anything that Instagram has to do with because Meta/Facebook can frankly all get in the bin too).
