  1. In 2005 there was: The Water Babies "Under The Tree" ( ) which made it to No.27 or something.

People do release new Christmas singles every year, I don't get the whole 1974-1994 was a 'golden age' period. Actually I call BS on that statement, however since 2007 with downloads allowing older songs to re-chart that may have some truth.

  2. Not very high tbf :P

Blonde, as in Denisé Denisé Blonde? Oh my god!! What a comeback!

No, Blonde as in: two Bristol lads who did a really good re-working of "Rhythm Of The Night". Then did a piss-weak-Lidl-lite version of "White Noise" and called it "I Loved You" which everyone preceded to inexplicably love.

So on Friday, Conservative MPs Philip Davies and Christopher Chope successfully filibustered a Private Member's Bill that would prohibit retaliatory evictions. Davies's speech was curtailed by Deputy Speaker Dawn Primarolo for disregarding her authority, after she ordered Davies to wrap up his then-hour long speech. A closure motion moved by the government, which was agreed to 60–0, failed due to being inquorate.

They are getting some abuse on twitter which has cheered me up, but really being landlords they are acting for THEMSELVES and not others. Total arseholes IMO.

  4. Los Campesinos! are bothering, they've released a Christmas song, and so are A Sunny Day In Glasgow.

The indie Christmas single is still very much alive.

Any odds for Tulisa's single to be Christmas number... 101?

  5. "Thinking Out Loud" is spending its fifth consecutive week atop the streaming chart today so I'd argue it's pretty popular and not that shocking if it were to reclaim #1 on the combined chart.

That said - I still think that Olly has a reasonable chance, especially as his streaming should be close to peaking next week (third week on the chart).

  7. Only a 3,000 maj for UKIP in the end though, which suggests that the Conservatives may be able to turn it around by May 2015, particularly as Reckless is totally different to Carswell (basically nobody ever sees him in the constituency and he only got over the line because of the 'buoyant' inherent UKIP support building in the area).

UKIP look to have peaked with Clacton.

  8. Songs to get 5 or more weeks at #1 on my chart in the 2010s.

    7 weeks

Crystal Castles ft. Robert Smith "Not In Love" (2010)

    6 weeks

    The National "Bloodbuzz Ohio" (2010)

    Grimes "Genesis" (2012)

Ellery James Roberts "Kerou's Lament (犠牲)" (2013)

    5 weeks

    Bon Iver "Holocene" (2011)

    Jessie Ware "110%" (2012)

    Jagwar Ma "The Throw" (2013)

    ]Caribou "Our Love" (2014)*

    * still at No.1

Caribou added to the list this week, and next week could be only the 4th this decade to spend 6 weeks at the top.
