In my view Kiss should have been rolled out by Bauer instead of Hits Radio. Kiss is more well known as a national brand, slicker and had bigger potential to wipe the floor with Capital. It wasn’t long ago they were in London but then went more specialist in their output and had their FM’s given to expand Hits Radio brand and the TV channel closed. As a result Kiss are now struggling so I guess they’re trying to regain some ground by trying to attract a more mainstream audience, though saying that the Kisstory side is still recording massive ratings.

Are we sure ‘Ordinary’ is actually playlisted and it’s not a just one off spot play or something? Did Kiss not play APT and BOAF when they was originally out? I’m pretty sure they did.

Agreed. Whatever happens Jamie needs to go, he clearly can’t commit to Going Home. If they have to keep him on somewhere, then maybe give him some pre-recorded specials or something would be better for him and the station.

I’m surprised to see Back To Friends added now. I’m surprised it wasn’t playlisted back in the summer when it was blowing up but I guess the focus from the label was on Undressed and then 12 to 12 so I suppose it’s nice to see it finally get some radio play at long last.

Didn't see Hayley Williams going A List. I wish 'Parachute' also went A list but was probably a busier time for new releases.

Surprised there's nothing on there from Sam Fender's Deluxe album that's out today - thought the record label would try and get another track out for radio from it. Good to see the Sleigh List back and will certainly keep the Kylie fans happy.

80’s songs from Wham, Band Aid, Shakey will most likely get airplay on Capital over the next few weeks. Capital has been around since the 1970’s so playlisted the 80’s songs when they were originally around, but Global have Smooth which features 80’s songs. Not even Heart go that far back.

It’s been announced that Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 will be held in Sunderland, taking over Herrington Country Park from 22–24 May. Line-up and ticket info coming soon

Didn't Biffy play at the Big Weekend? That's probably bought them support for this era. Could say the same for Mumford & Sons really. Straight to B List?? Probably due to Hozier being on that track.

Speed Demon seems to get played alot on Jack Saunders new music show so I wonder if they've changed their mind and will end up being the focus single instead of 'Love Song'? Surprised to see Jonas Blue added - it's been a while for him to be playlisted on R1.

Reading the press release it looks like Robbie Williams is part of the launch of R1 Anthems on DAB+ RadioTodayBBC Radio 1 live lounge month brings global stars this Oc...Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month returns on 29 September with performances from some of the world’s biggest artists.

Ahh - Just heard Greg play Hayley Williams so built up my hopes she would be playlisted this week. The new Biffy Clyro track is really good though, I’m really getting into this new era.

David Guetta headlined their Dance event in Malta at the weekend so that's why he's there. I think it's looking more and more likely that the Ed song is a promo track rather than an official single.

Would have been nice for him to tack on 'Blessings' to the end of it to help its streams. The album seems to be a regular in the Top 40 albums these days so it's doing well for him.

I’m really liking it. Would be amazing to see it go Top 40 this week.
