Yet some of their pointless spin-offs go number 1. When Now 122 gets released, they need to do the right thing and release it on 14th November so it doesn’t clash with Wicked 2. At the same time, Now need to better their tracklists. Now 121 would have more sales if it had a strong tracklist. The only way to save Now albums is by banning streaming platforms and the only ones who have the power to do that is the UK government and before anyone says anything, sales in Now albums took a nosedive after Now 100. That sold 176k and Now 101 sold 82k. Go figure

Alot of people stopped collecting them after 100. I think as long as they sell enough copies to turn a profit they’ll be happy to keep it going.

I don’t think the government will ban Spotify to save a commercial business.

Oasis tour impact will be very big by the looks of it then

Wouldn’t surprise me if Time Flies is Number 1 in the album chart next week with Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe back in the Top 10.

  5. I totally agree with you on that Lewis. I tend to tune in now and then to the decades stations and even then I don't find myself listening too long. The brand is aiming to bring you a mix of familiar well known tracks, mainly targeted to females aged 25-44.

  6. So the Heart brand as a whole set of stations combined (which includes listeners from their decades and Dance station) has more than R2 rather than that main station itself.

  7. Radio 1 are playing Caroline too, so it's the current single.

Would like to see them add Sombr 'Back To Friends' to go alongside 'Undressed' and the new Stereophonics track in the next few weeks.

  8. BBC Radio 1 has revealed a first for the Big Weekend 2025, a performance from Radio 1 Anthems acts Sugababes and Natash Bedingfield.

This new addition to the festival is on the back of the Radio 1 Anthems extension which launched on BBC Sounds last November and was provisionally approved by Ofcom last week to launch on DAB+.

The station is for young listeners to discover and re-discover music and artists played by Radio 1 throughout the 2000s and 2010s.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025 takes place in Sefton Park, Liverpool from Friday 23rd May – Sunday 25th May.

Natasha Bedingfield says: “It’s a big deal to be part of Radio 1’s Big Weekend. I can’t wait to jump up on stage and sing my heart out with everyone. Let’s hope some inhibitions get released!”

Sugababes say: “We’re buzzing to be playing Radio 1’s Big Weekend! We’ve heard amazing things about the energy and the crowds, so we’re excited to be part of it this year. Expect a lot of love, big tunes, and a show to remember!”

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: “Radio 1’s Big Weekend is about bringing people together through the music they love, and our Radio 1 Anthems artists are a perfect example of that.

“These acts have soundtracked unforgettable moments for our audience and continue to resonate with listeners today – whether they’re rediscovering the songs or discovering them for the first-time.

Was thinking they must have a new single out then before May!

Not necessarily. Coldplay headlined last year before anything from the 'Moon Music' era came out.
