  1. Of course they will, another way of milking the 80's, but I doubt it will happen until they've released all the yearbooks to do 85-89.

Never too soon for Cardi to be removed. Nothing much of interest this week tbh. They may add Ed next week if a track gets nominated as an official single or if a track (such as American Girl) really takes off this week.

Good to see Kenya added, though I think she could have been added straight to the B List given how popular it is.

7 years as a lead artist then. That's quite a while, but good to see him back. But they played tracks from the album instead of focusing on one track.

Continued support for Usher in 2023! Think he's doing a live lounge as part of their live lounge month so makes sense to add him. What was the last track they playlisted from him? Great to see Jazzy added

And I bet the majority of those complaining never even listen to Radio 1, it's just something for people to get on the bandwagon because they're getting older and have outgrown Radio 1. How many Kylie fans are actually listening to Radio 1 these days? Why do you keep expecting Radio 1 to keep playlisting her? I just don't get it! Radio 1 has very clearly set out it's strategy as to what it is as a brand, a radio station, what it does and who it's for. 'Padam Padam' was a bit of a one off - a big hit, perfect summer pop song which they could see was gaining momentum for their target audience, so stuck it on the C List to gain abit of good will and publicity. Padam in my opinion is a perfect Heart song and their listeners are the the right audience for it, but I haven't seen any heated social media hate from fans or silly Daily Mail articles about it not being played there. I love alot of artists that Radio 1 have now stopped supporting, but things change, life moves on and most importantly Radio 1 needs to keep moving and adapting to a new audience and also help develop the crop of new up and coming artists whilst being relevant to an audience of under 30's whilst remembering the back catalogue of hits from artists they are no longer able to support new music from in their Anthems and 00's/10's shows. Personally I think Radio 1 sounds the strongest it has done in years in terms of music, content, station sound and presentation as well as engaging to their target audience. They have it spot on at the moment. Radio 2 and Local Radio is the BBC's home for music and content aimed at the over 30's and has been for years and 6 Music for those who like it abit more indie and alternative.

Nuh Ready Nuh Ready and Pray To God are obvious ones that spring to my mind as Calvin flops as a lead artist if we’re not taking into account the Funk WAV Bounces eras. Pray to God is still a boo, massive shame it wasn’t bigger chartwise.

Charlie Hedges was forced to take co-star Arielle Free's mic down after she started criticising the track being played during BBC Radio 1's Dance Anthems Ibiza show, broadcast live from the White Isle, at the weekend https://radiotoday.co.uk/2023/07/bbc-radio-...8fM1pDeRV2xD2sw Here’s the clip of what happened @1686259005289566208

Was it used for a 'Song of the week' feature and they didn't make it clear on the playlist that was the case?
  20. Pre-ordered. Hope it’s good 😊

If I were a betting man, my money would be on Kylie going from the playlist next week
  22. Not feeling this on first listen. I wonder if Becky could miss out on a big summer smash this year?

As they have decide to A list that boring Billie Eilish track and they already have Nikki Minaj on, I guess also having Dua on would be too many songs from the Barbie soundtrack on the playlist.
  24. Now Yearbook 92 Extra is coming as noted above. @1679466405438029824

The logic seems to be if a songs been on the playlist for more than 3 weeks it should come off
