Totally agree. A great opportunity for budding presenters to get themselves heard. Think a couple of previous presenters who took part have managed to get jobs at the likes of Hits and Kiss on the back of it too.

Radio 1 have opened applications for budding presenters to be part of their Christmas Takeover for 2022. https://radiotoday.co.uk/2022/09/bbc-radio-...eturns-for-2022

They did a tribute gig to Taylor Hawkins at Wembly on Saturday

Elton sounds dreadful in this. Time for him to retire now!

So here we are! Last week of Scott Mills and Chris Stark on afternoons! Really is the end of an era. Rumours are also going around on the Gregg James fan page on Facebook that he’s leaving breakfast in January, apparently has been leaked by Chris Stark on a podcast. Nothing confirmed as of yet. I really hope it’s not true, there’s been so much change over the past year, the schedule really needs stability and time to bed in now.

Video for ‘Humankind’ has dropped. l6_nRqIz_9o

Charlie said before she went on maternity leave that she’s not planning on being off for very long so James will fill in until she returns in the autumn.

MC Hammer sampled Rick James’ Superfreak. It was also sampled by the Beatfreakz in 2006 too.

So the Yearbooks continue to go backwards to the 70's @1557415175766294528

They did, although I was wondering if there was a more commercial sounding single to come perhaps? Whoever it is, I hope it's someone who can make an impact in the charts next week.

It would be a massive british artist/band I think and someone who would fit evenings on Radio 1. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking:- Arctic Monkeys Lewis Capaldi Coldplay - Possible EP? (similar to 'Kaleidoscope' to support their UK summer dates?) Stormzy Dave Ed Sheeran The 1975 Keep an eye on the socials, someone's bound to tell their fans to be listening to Radio 1 tonight at 6pm.

Voted Baby Boy. Unpopular opinion but I think Hero is a great track.

Good to see Tom Grennan insta added.

Harry insta A listed with a post album single. Don't think that often happens.

On Heart? Is it the original or a remix version do you know?

Great to see Gorillaz added to Radio 2, that's a big surprise. I do wonder with Scott Mills joining daytime in September whether they'll start to change their approach to the artists they playlist, so for example if we'll start seeing them playlist less of the heritage 70's/80's artists to try and appeal to listeners that has come over from Radio 1 for Scotts show?

Great to see John Summit move up to A List. Proper summer tune!
