80’s songs from Wham, Band Aid, Shakey will most likely get airplay on Capital over the next few weeks. Capital has been around since the 1970’s so playlisted the 80’s songs when they were originally around, but Global have Smooth which features 80’s songs. Not even Heart go that far back.

It’s been announced that Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 will be held in Sunderland, taking over Herrington Country Park from 22–24 May. Line-up and ticket info coming soon

Didn't Biffy play at the Big Weekend? That's probably bought them support for this era. Could say the same for Mumford & Sons really. Straight to B List?? Probably due to Hozier being on that track.

Speed Demon seems to get played alot on Jack Saunders new music show so I wonder if they've changed their mind and will end up being the focus single instead of 'Love Song'? Surprised to see Jonas Blue added - it's been a while for him to be playlisted on R1.

Great to see Good Neighbours added. Shocked to see Sam Fender kicked off whist still riding high in the charts.

Radio 1’s Hottest Record ‘The Happy Dictator’ feat. Sparks

Notice Radio 1 Dance, Radio 1 Anthems and Radio 3 Unwind are now on DAB+ this morning.

Great to see Good Neighbours added. That’s really grown on me. Also here for Biffy and Hayley Williams climbing too!

Loads of new entries in the albums. Really hope Faithless can remain Top 20 at least.

Reading the press release it looks like Robbie Williams is part of the launch of R1 Anthems on DAB+ RadioTodayBBC Radio 1 live lounge month brings global stars this Oc...Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month returns on 29 September with performances from some of the world’s biggest artists.

Great to see Hayley and Calvin added this week! Not sure why they've removed KPop Demon Hunters so soon whilst it's still very popular.

Ahh - Just heard Greg play Hayley Williams so built up my hopes she would be playlisted this week. The new Biffy Clyro track is really good though, I’m really getting into this new era.

David Guetta headlined their Dance event in Malta at the weekend so that's why he's there. I think it's looking more and more likely that the Ed song is a promo track rather than an official single.

Would have been nice for him to tack on 'Blessings' to the end of it to help its streams. The album seems to be a regular in the Top 40 albums these days so it's doing well for him.

I’m really liking it. Would be amazing to see it go Top 40 this week.

This is literally Somedays part 2 and not as good. Agree High On Me is far better.

Oasis - Slide Away (Live in Cardiff, 4 July ‘25)

Great to see a few dance songs added. With David Guetta - I guess the key is to try and do some R1 events in order to stay on side but it's a great summer dance song so I'm all for it. Really enjoying that Rossi & Jazzy song at the moment too.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Time Flies is Number 1 in the album chart next week with Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe back in the Top 10.

This is very cheesy but not a bad remake for what it is. I can't see it doing anything though.

Great to see Biffy added - solid rock tune. Shame they didn't replace 'Undressed' with 'Back To Friends' - I know it's a older, but it's doing really well so would be good to have it make the playlist in its own right.

No she’s in the UK right now with her tour so has stuck ‘Bodyguard’ out to radio to support the tour. They did the same a few years ago if you remember with her last tour - put out ‘Virgos Groove’ to radio and that was like a year after the ‘Renaissance’ album came out.

Great to see Calvin moved up to A - where he should have debuted last week imo! Surprised to see Beyonce getting a late add with 'Bodyguard' - shame it wasn't given a proper push earlier as its one of the highlights of Cowboy Carter. Great to see Wet Leg added too - I much prefer CPR to the last song.

They played Big Weekend didn’t they? That’s probably helped them get A List.

How the hell is Calvin only B List??? What's going on? Shocked to see Rihanna added. Not her best, but good to see her continued support.
