  1. I'm surprised to see 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' get this far. Great song though! Still going for 'Some Might Say'
  2. Time Flies....1994 - 2009 was the second Greatest Hits compilation from Oasis. 'Stop The Clocks' came out in 2006 as the first Greatest Hits album, but only featured 18 tracks which were chosen by Noel Gallagher and came about at the end of their record contract with Sony. Time Flies...1994-2009 got released on the 14th June 2010 containing all 27 singles the band had released between 1994 and 2009 including 'Whatever and 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' which had never appeared on any previous Oasis studio album. 'Sunday Morning Call' is not listed on the official tracklisting, but appears as a hidden track on the end of Disc 2 making it track 14, so I've decided to allow it in the rate. 7. Stop Crying Your Heart Out - 20.00% - Tiebreak - 47.83% Realeased as the second single from the bands fifth album 'Heathen Chemistry' in 2002 and peaked at Number 2 in the UK Top 40. Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is a motivational ballad which lasts for a duration of five minutes and five seconds. Its melodic structure bears strong resemblances to "Slide Away", one of their songs from their debut studio album Definitely Maybe, while its hook is reminiscent of the chorus of their 1996 song "Don't Look Back in Anger". Leona Lewis recorded a cover version for her second studio album 'Echo' in 2009. She performed her version on the sixth series finale of The X Factor, and it peaked at number 29 on the UK Singles Chart. dhZUsNJ-LQU The chart so far..... 27. Who Feels Love? - 26.83% 26. 3. 6 fantastic tracks. R&B, Garage, Pop, Indie and Dance. The charts had great variety back in those days. This was the week Westlife's 'Fool Again' fell from Number 1 to Number 8. The rest of the Top 10 in this week was:- 7. Melanie C feat. Lisa Left-Eye-Lopez - Never Be The Same Again (2) 8. Westlife - Fool Again (1) 9. Destiny's Child - Say My Name (3) 10. Rank 1 - Airwave (New Entry) So that was 7 New Entries in the Top 10 that week :o Other New Entries in the Top 40 were:- 13. Basement Jax - Bingo Bango 22. Angie Stone - Life Story 23. Daniel O' Donnell - Light A Candle 24. Lonestar - Amazed 33. Cherie Amore - I Don't Want Nobody 39. Wamdue Project - You're The Reason
  4. Didn't know whether or not it was worth setting up a new thread just to put this in, but Peter Kay announced an audio version of Car Share will be on the BBC iPlayer this Friday:-
  5. So we have a three way tiebreak! Vote for your least favourite so we can move on? You have 24 hours. I'm going for 'Some Might Say'
  6. They’re still very reliant on physical sales. If they released now I’d dread to think how bad the sales would be.
  7. Anymore votes? Need to break the tie
  8. I like 'Stand By Me', such a great 90's Britpop track and I do like the backing vocals from Noel on this track. Continuing with 'Some Might Say'

Oasis - Stand By Me - 42.11% Released as the second single from the bands third studio album 'Be Here Now', 'Stand By Me' peaked at Number 2 in the UK singles charts in September 1997, being kept from the top spot by the record-breaking Elton John single "Candle in the Wind 1997", which was re-recorded and released in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, who had died three weeks before the release of "Stand by Me". Noel Gallagher claims to have written the song whilst suffering from food poisoning when he first moved to London. In a characteristic example of Noel Gallagher lifting elements from songs of which he is fond, the rousing sequence of chord changes between the repeated chorus lyrics 'Stand by me/Nobody knows the way it's gonna be' bears a remarkable similarity to a similar chord sequence in Mott The Hoople's "All the Young Dudes". Due to Noel Gallagher's dislike of the 'Be Here Now' album, 'Stand By Me' hasn't been featured in the bands live performances since the 'Be Here Now' tour as it's reported on Wikipedia that Noel would decide the bands setlists for Oasis tours. maTP315XZCQ The chart so far..... 27. Cigarettes & Alcohol - 36.00% Released as the fourth single from the album 'Definitely Maybe' and became their second Top 10 hit single, peaking at Number 7. Recently the track has been certified Platinum, indicating 600,000 sales. Cigarettes & Alcohol" demonstrated the rougher musical attitude that Oasis appeared to be promoting. The song proclaims the inherent appeal of cigarettes, alcohol, and other drugs as a remedy to the banality and seemingly futile nature of the working class life. The song was the second case in which Oasis was accused of plagiarism, the first being "Shakermaker". The main riff of the song is 'borrowed' from "Get It On" by T. Rex and "Little Queenie" by Chuck Berry, and also bears a similarity to the opening of Humble Pie's cover of "C'mon Everybody", originally by Eddie Cochran. SaeLKhRnkhQ The chart so far..... 27.
