Right course of action to pause Taylor Swift songs from the main stations for a few days in mark of respect for the friends, family and the local communities affected in this sad event. Obviously Capital TV does what it says on the tin and there’s no way round that as they’ve committed themselves to the station until she’s done her last London show at least, but is there in the meantime if anyone still wants their Taylor fix. Most stations tend to adapt their playlists from time to time in reaction to major events whether they’re sad or happy and even to react to the weather.

Capital also played 'Birds of a Feather' this morning, so looks like radio is more leaning towards that than 'Lunch'.

They may not have had a proper edit done for the radio in time to play on the First Look. Think we'll have to wait and see, but they were still supporting Eminem during his previous era. I should think 1Xtra will play it even if the main station ignore it, but I don't think R1 are as quick to drop artists like they were 10 years ago.

I'm surprised Coldplay haven't put out any new tracks from their new album yet. I thought they would given the golden opportunity to promo it at the Big Weekend and Glastonbury, though there's still a week left to put the lead single out in time for the Big Weekend I guess.

I don't think we can rule out songs based on chart positions anymore. Now don't seem that bothered about it nowadays, they just chuck on the songs they can get the rights at the right costs to.
