  1. Latto's feature is a perfect example of unnecessary!
  2. Time to wait for another contest. I had other choices considered/reserved so that's that.
  3. Let's go, Michael Learns To Rock the Danish Take That! :heehee:
  4. I suggest sending the votes even if you don't know if it has been extended.
  5. I gotta get my votes in soon... Edit: Done.
  6. I could've voted early but I try not base my votes on first impressions and all that.
  7. https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/w...e-a-look-around What do you think? Necessary? Too much changes? Perhaps don't care about the website because the chart info you want/need are here anyway.
  8. YouTube playlist pls.
  9. For some reason, I mixed up Nuggets with Unknown Pleasures (which I both participated). Oops. Edit: Isn't Nuggets the "guitar-only" one? I am making myself confused. Edit 2: Yeah. Makes sense. Dunno if I could think of a theme in Nuggets.
  10. ^I like to think the challenge of contests like this is to be able to submit something never sent before. The BJSC exists for poppier stuff anyway. Or maybe if UP has a theme like Club Bizarre and obscure non-guitar music may be eligible (unlike this edition), that would be cool. Or have urban/r&b/rap/whatever have their own contest.
  11. Sent mine. I may reconfirm too. Maybe not. If it's not vetoed, that's good enough for me! Edit: I might've screwed up the submission (making duplicates). I was making sure I sent the right link.
  12. Didn't realise it's been that long ago.
  13. I like it. Much better (less cringe) than 'LosT' and 'sTraNgeRs'.
  14. AllStarBySmashMouth posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
English version of 'Idol'. I prefer the Japanese version, but not surprised at this one. They sure have blown up the 'synthesised voice' (virtual singer) kind of music to the wider audience.
  15. :cheer: Gonna check this out once it's released! They make some big tunes every album (new track is cool)!
  16. New album is quite interesting. I liked 'Chokehold' and 'DYWTYLM'.
  17. No, thanks. I'm not reading pop music articles on The Guardian. The problem is less on the chart or chart rules, it's more on the appeal of albums in the larger public. The "low" weekly sales give many acts higher chances to chart higher in the first week, with the help of their established, loyal fans. It's just more apparent how interest (physical, streaming) differ from act to act or album to album. Some UK rappers (e.g. D-Block Europe, Nines) tend to stay afloat because of the fans that constantly stream them, not so much of paying for tangibility. One can go blame the issue on how music is consumed and all, but much of the UK industry (at least) has focused on hit songs than hit albums because physical albums have a niche/selective appeal. Now, as a "casual", how do you make albums look more appealing and worth getting despite the strong interest in on-demand streaming? And I'm not talking about collecting freakin' vinyls like an audiophile.
  18. Well done on the UK Top 10! :teresa: (Wasn't there a smilie with a wing? Can't find it. Or maybe that's another forum I'm thinking of.)
  19. :cheer: They still come up with cool and memorable tracks to this day!
  20. The 'Distropia' video a lot is fun to watch! Phenomenal track too! And I had the smallest energy track.
  21. Will submit my votes in a few hours. Didn't realise it's already tonight... Edit: Done.
  22. Sounds like label problems and/or license to have the catalogue on streaming have expired. 'Good To Be Here' was pretty good at the time.
  23. I'd rather hear 'Sign Of The Times' currently. I feel so tired of the popularity of 'As It Was'. So for now, SOTT. In a several years' time, maybe AIW (it's admittedly fun and catchy, outside of its hugeness).
  24. The more I read the rules, the more it sounds a bit... strict. I mean, does it have to be four-on-the-floor (I cannot submit a DnB)? Avoid genres like "future", probably also means no trap-inspired drops (Hudson Mohawke, etc.) and no dubstep.
  25. Today marks 1 year of the passing of Tom Parker. Still a sad time thinking about it.
