iTunes Chart: January 2010 (II)
No way. Glee has been really overhyped imo and it's taken same concept with the lead male.

Ego // 2nd Single
Single Mix saving them at the moment. They have their fans to thank I think. Will be interesting where it ends up now Justin Beiber and Alex are iTunes Top 10.

Here Standing //
I think it's an awful choice. I find the song annoyingly similar to No Air. But they couldn't really do much with the album I suppose. At least they can stand still with mics for this one and not look gormless.

I don't personally see it working and I adore Girls Aloud. But it's nice that people care and get attention from Nadine and what not.

Yeah Riverside is really old. It's been in clubs for ages and that's its selling point.

I get that you don't like covers and that you don't like X Factor but please don't be idiotic. Joe has sang the song enough times live to show that it sounds pretty much identical to the recorded version. You can insult the show all you want but do not act like he cannot sing.

iTunes Chart: December IV
Most likely just people who want to keep it at #1 or like the song. There will be people who heard it got to #1 and wonder what it is or decide they want it. They sold 40k of downloads over Sun-Mon whereas Joe sold 30k downloads. He is #1 in midweeks as he sold 50k physical copies.

Who was your favourite chart presenter?
Mark Goodier. He was the one I had growing up so I always associate him with the chart.

iTunes Chart: December IV
Looks like RATM will be knocked off the top spot by tonight. I can see it falling more dramatically after Christmas when people get over themselves, lol.

You go to some bloody amazing karaoke bars by the sounds of it. I find your snobbery far more tragic. Merry Christmas....crack a smile!

They needn't worry. It's not like anyone bought the album :P

What went wrong this era?
Basically the label can't handle the fact that Kelly doesn't want to be a puppet! When she voices her opinions they just get pissed off and don't seem to care. As ever! I wish she'd just leave them and get on a decent label. I Do Not Hook Up was quite a good single but they just didn't promote it very well and same with Already Gone. The AG thing also got all the attention with the Halo sound alike. It's a real shame because this is a great album.

Rage Against The Machine / Joe McElderry
I personally don't think a deserved #1 is a song being bought by people who dislike it just to prove a point. This poll shows people have done that with RATM. What a waste of money!
-
Tedder still think they sound nothing alike?
Woo love it!

Girls Aloud Chart Watch: Spotify / Apple Music / iTunes
How random that this is even known! What do songs at 981 sell? :P

iTunes Chart: December III
Steve didnt enter at #1, he climbed to it if I remember correctly. Pity seeing as Joe is far more talented than the likes of Leon Jackson.
-
Chart Soundclash: Joe McElderry vs. Rage Against The Machine
Joe as I think the other song is tripe even if his version aint as good as Miley's I adore his voice.

iTunes Chart: December III
Hardly, I personally think it merely makes The X Factor look even bigger than it is. The fact is doesn't need to do anything to drive people to buy a song just because they're so annoyed by it!

Like any thing with figures you can spin it however you like. - Joe got 22% more votes than Olly did in the final vote count. That's the highest margin between runner up and winner that there has ever been. Even Leona didnt get quite so high, being 20% ahead of Ray. We could say this makes him the most popular winner. He has also been 15-25% ahead in all the final few weeks in terms of votes. (On the flip side, Steve Brookstein remains the winner who got most votes and look where he is...if you can find him.) - This year also has one of the highest number of votes. Dermot said 10 million last night compared to the 8 million votes cast in the year's Alex and Leona won. - It also had the highest viewing figures. Those using the Sunday argument - what about Strictly? That used to be split across two shows and people still compared the figures. Like I say....spinning it so they make their point seem more factual. I'm not saying it was better this year. The talent was better last year if I'm being honest. I think Diana, Laura, JLS, Alex...any of them could have won. But then again that year also had Daniel which brought it crashing to the ground. This year is by no means the worst as I can't name half the contestants from previous years. Joe is extremely talented and I think it's a bit stupid to say he's not unique or that he's too stage school - do we really need a mainstream pop winner each year? And surely Olly was less unique in that he is just another Robbie. Fine say the song is crap but it's hardly Joe's fault. He's 18 being controlled by Simon and living out his dream. Like someone already said - it's Christmas!! Why does everyone have to be so cynical and selfish? Oh yes sorry, I forgot this country likes to moan about EVERYTHING! Do people think the 29p Amazon offer will be attracting many away from iTunes?

It's 29p on Amazon.

Haha yeah. I think Sir Paul should have done 'Wonderful Christmas Time'. Is he anywhere on iTunes or are they all unavailable? I've not checked. *checks* I've got: 105 - Wonderful Christmas Time 187 - Live and Let Die Only me lovin' him then? I think the artists and the X Factor all know that nobody really likes the first single as it's always just added as an after thought/bonus track to their albums. You'd think Simon would jump on that and do something original. Only Shayne Ward has released one that isn't a cover.....and Michelle McManus if we count Pop Idol (Evergreen was a Westlife song). One of the reasons Girls Aloud got people to take notice was the fact that Sound of the Underground was not what you'd expect from those type of shows. That worked out well yet Simon's not taken note. Anyway.... The Climb 1 - Joe 28 - Miley 76 - Miley 153 - Miley

And 'Killing In The Name' reached #25 in the UK. It hasn't gotten any better either.

iTunes Chart: December III
Well I'm happy Joe is #1. I think he has a fantastic voice and deserved to win the show. I hope he gets to Christmas #1 and enjoys it. He has a great talent and should be successful, even if it is only before the fickle bubble bursts. I find the whole RATM campaign a bit pathetic if I'm honest. Especially when a large chunk of people doing it watched The X Factor every week anyway. They do realise that this only supports the show yes? And that they're still giving money to Sony? The song isn't even good in my opinion. Ok, I think The X Factor should stop hogging the Christmas chart but this is all a bit silly. I know people who are downloading it that don't even like it! Whilst I think The Climb was the wrong song to pick, I actual do like it. Miley Cyrus does it better than both these guys but it's still a pretty decent song which people on here seemed to support a while back. Also, it wasn't written for her or for a Disney movie. It was offered to other artists first hence why it is no longer nominated for a Grammy. Why are all Disney songs crap may I add? Is everything Elton did for The Lion King also pure rubbish?

I believe she's someone who Taio Cruz and Will.I.Am reap with praise and who the nation generally adores. I'd hardly say it's her fault! Lol. I also nearly fell off my chair at the comment about her having no charisma and her career not lasting long. She's made it this far partly because of her personality and that spark that she is. She's a fantastic performer no matter what you think of her vocal ability. And not last long? Hello - she's already had a 7 year long music career! What a pathetic comment...about as deluded as calling Wordshaker a hit! What is with this thread????? Anyway back to something of actual relevance... Surprised Janet is nowhere. Did it do anything for MJ?
