For perspective, FSR Rontvia and Aeroche are the only other countries who have ever got to a streak of 35 at all let alone with the 19 extra contests Hendinia have on top of that! Danæviia now ascend to the podium in 3rd place while also expanding their own current record. Greenfroze and Neliönoir further expand current national records while shuffling up the top 10. New Lexico's streak ending also sees them vacate the top 10, and 4/5 of countries who had been in a tie for 12th place now move up to a four-way tie for 10th, so welcome Ajanaeda, Cumulonimbia, Kluminican Republic and Lookylion to the top tier (with Ajanaeda also expanding their current record, as was already locked in with their auto-qualifier this month). Fljótavík would have joined them but alas also DNQed this month. Why So Sirius (fka Sovarasma) make it to 7 in a row to match their record previously set in BJSCs 139-145, while Macromia make it to 3 in a row for the first time after matching their previous record of 2 last month (see above post). Additionally, Hinterlandia return after a month of forced absence and qualify again to set a new record including nonconsecutive participations of 3 qualifiers in a row (BJSCs 171-172 & 174), though as per the previous post their consecutive record remains at 2.

At the time of the last full update Cor Lupus were 2nd and Cumulonimbia 3rd. Cor Lupus lost their streak in BJSC 164 so Cumulonimbia moved up to 2nd and Kathaldazia to 3rd. Then Cumulonimbia also lost their streak in BJSC 165 so Kathaldazia moved up to 2nd and Aeroche to 3rd, which remained the case up to last contest (but of course we have another change in the podium this month with Kathaldazia now losing their streak).

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 25/04/25
I really had no idea what to expect from this Lorde comeback chart-wise considering her last album was not exactly met with glowing praise, but then the 'Girl, so confusing' remix felt well timed to give her a bit of a boost of good will / hype ahead of starting a new album cycle. A top 10 debut on Spotify from a Thursday release is brilliant anyway, I'm sure it'll drop a fair bit in the next few days as almost all big new releases do of late (although hopefully New Music Friday will cushion the second day drop) but it certainly bodes well for it to be her 2nd highest charting song ever and hopefully contending to be a 2nd top 10 hit if it has any legs at all. I do think it sounds much more like a hit than anything off 'Solar Power', feels like 'Green Light' 2.0 to me really (and I mean that in a positive way, I thought 'Solar Power' was an overhated album but it was definitely a step down from the quality of her first two so I am not at all going to complain about her running back to the 'Melodrama' sound even if it's a tad derivative). Love to see 'Ribs' making an appearance too! <3 (and 'Girl, so confusing' is back at #148 as well, first time it's been in the top 200 since the remix album release day).

Naurrr, finishing on a lowlight there with Utopia just missing out, was 2nd in the semi for me which is by far my biggest loss </3 happy to see Lookylion through though. Oops at Mothertopia not making the final of Ajanaeda's contest! Oooops semi 1 really said no to techno again. Tbf I kinda thought Dobago and POPHub might actually do better than Kathaldazia but I figured surely at least one had to make it, all 3 of them being out is pretty shocking! :'( (and here's where I hope they didn't miss out by like 1 point because they also narrowly missed out for me oops) The 'flop flop flop flop flop flop' refrain from the Ultraviolenceland entry legit made me chuckle so I applaud it for that alone

I didn't like the previous lozeak entry at all so this one was quite a pleasant surprise for me, think it'll be one of this month's earworms. I'll predict Kathaldazia and Taahino to be the last 2 semi 1 qualifiers, and I think Lotunia will be one of the last 2 from semi 2 but really can't call between the other three hmm! (Very much want to say Utopia but I wouldn't be surprised if they narrowly missed out from this semi draw)

Ooh gwan East Rukahavian - I did quite like this entry but it is one of the few songs I would have been fairly confident predicting to DNQ so nice to see them defying some odds x Shame to see FLJ going out, had it in my top 10 of the semi on first listen although it did drop a little bit to 13th after relistening as other songs grew on me more. Also quite liked the New Lexico entry so aw at us not getting both of the Finnpop entries through.

Love to see Palmyra through - their first appearance in a final since BJSC 105! (Mind, they've only entered two other contests in the mean time). Coming back with a banger! Good stuff from email legends Hinterlandia too, I guess they were safe regardless of deduction then x edit: oops my first losses from my top 10 of both semis in that last post (both of my 9th placers in fact), techno bloc is not coming through in semi 1 so far </3 And I was hoping that Flynnonda would be good to return with a qualifier :'(
