I've still not updated the OP for ages oop (#soon, I do still remember I need to update Cor Lupus' x) but all the countries which didn't have flags as of that last update are in the OP tagged with '[NO FLAG YET]', new countries since then are Freidland, Herbilore, Mothertopia, Cheiron, Hinterlandia and Macromia. Herbilore, Cheiron and Mothertopia do have flags already (and maybe Hinterlandia? They have an image which might be a flag in the OP of their national thread but not sure as the aspect ratio isn't typically flaggy, @hinterland could you clarify xx) but I don't think the other two do. @LiamSime @Miri (Liam only entered a couple of times and then has been MIA for nearly a year oop but might as well tag in case he wants to make a flag lmao) I remember uhsting made a flag for Scotland 2 for BJSC 162 but iirc @!!! later made a post denying it was her official flag (and it looks like the graphics for the contest have mostly gone missing due to site migration shenanigans anyway)
  2. We have another clash we oop
  3. Oop we have our first clash. Will let the person know x (on the bright side, I was wrong about the clash I was expecting earlier!)
  4. The record has you beat by about 2 minutes and 10 seconds (the shortest that isn't primarily a novelty entry I guess would be Okay Kaya at 1:34 x)

This has broken pretty much every single old BJSC voting thread but it is what it is, don't know if it'd even be possible to recover it to how it's meant to be now. At least the Wayback Machine still exists x

I think we have too many pinned threads here tbh (now that they take up way more space on the new site oop), have been planning to have a look at consolidating them a bit.
  7. This contest being an in memoriam for hex colours on BuzzJack </3 I was the first to confirm last month (minus Cody) but I don't have an entry for this one yet so will see if I can split the difference or if I go right back to my other usual (of late) extreme of not submitting until the last hour or so of confirmations hiipe anyway x (so far we've not had any artist clashes but I think one is going to be happening when a certain person confirms oop)

  9. I was kind of hoping we'd be moving onto this contest swiftly considering the last contest overran a bit due to the site downtime so lessgo (even though I don't currently have an entry yet x). Lovely to be jetting back to Kluminican Republic! PM to any or all mods x
  10. Anyhow ended up with an excellent top 5 here! 'Falling For You' was only lower midtable for me in the end but still definitely see why it was a winner and we always love to see a first time winner (and justice for Amelie Lens who deserved way more than 36th for her previous entry which got a bronze medal from me x). I voted for all of the songs in 2nd-4th, Bronzil's was a grower for me throughout the contest getting more and more infectious with each listen so well done on the new peak, now let's hope you don't have to suffer 5 more runner up results before winning like Klum did and as commented before love to see myself finishing in the top 5 alongside Jadakissnia for the first time ever after almost 10 years, Vioflesh got a medal from me so cannot complain at them narrowly beating me x I didn't vote for anything else from the top 10 but Hendinia and Bøtanikkä were both commiserations and will be going onto my shuffle playlist anyway, argh at the former being another one coming surprisingly close to ending Hendinia's epic qualification streak but you wouldn't know it from the final result! Have to say I'm a little surprised Lauren Mayberry did so well, I usually love CHVRCHES but this song didn't do a lot for me, I'll be checking out her solo album some time soon so hoping there'll be songs that appeal to me more on there. Lots more of my faves lining up just outside the top 10, particularly pleased to see that insane Frost Children track getting them another pretty good result, also hooray for some justice for Max Cooper indeed doing quite a bit better this time than when I sent him. Underrated corner this month for me are Terra Avium (I'm not sure why this one did so much worse than Vioflesh, also eek so close to not even qualifying!), Pestolia, Fljótavík, Séyetana (didn't exactly expect this to do super well but could at least have got it to triple figures, this is some good high fructose brain rot here x) and Hinterlandia who we'll be missing next month </3 hope they will be back after that and preferably with a newfound timeliness for voting xx Also really surprised at how poorly Mothertopia did. Aside from Mack and Noche who I already acknowledged, a belated arigatō to Chez, Frank and Jacob for the silver medals, Colm and Iz for the bronzes (a medal from Iz was my vision for this entry so it doing so well with lots of other people too is a bonus xx), Ansel, Dan, Cow, Dobbo and Meekul for further double figure pointage and Jade, Pete, Roba, dandy*, Jim, Savan, uhsting, blacksquare, Kerth, Mikey and Miri for the remainder of my points! First time I've got points from Macromia so hooray for those mealworms especially x + I see I got 6 points each in the semi from Jake and Lindsey too but dropping off to 0 for the final aw, though a commiseration is better than I usually do for the latter so I'll take it. Also lost my 6 points from the semi from hinterland with them not voting in the final oop. Oh my at me having the most votes in semi 2 *.* My best final position since Nur Jaber came 3rd in BJSC 150, although 2 points short of what Agent blå got to come 8th in 164 - in any case, great to have another year with at least one top 10 hit locked in already meaning 2023 remains an anomaly for now, this year is off to a pretty strong start for me in general with 2 for 2 top 20 hits so let's hope I can keep that up! (Unfortunately after being well prepared for these first 2 contests I currently have nothing for the next one and ofc we're moving onto that pretty swiftly oop so I'd better get looking ) Thanks Cody for the hosting efforts, as said already but bears repeating you were in an unenviable position of having to deal with the entire function of the site being flipped on its head halfway through the contest but kept things going smoothly, we love to see it x
  11. Right sorry for taking forever but I've double checked the scoreboard now and there are a few small position changes - @Cody Buckley if you want to update the spreadsheet, as Jim pointed out Skall's votes are a little wonky in there (Bøtanikkä, Lookylion and POPHub need to be bumped up a point each to 9, 8 and 7 respectively and Bronzil have 6 points from them) which doesn't affect any positions, but also Jupiterdonia's 5 should be to Cumulonimbia rather than Pestolia which does cause a few swaps in the lower half of the scoreboard: 27 140 Sovarasma 28 137 Pestolia (boo xx) 34 108 Cumulonimbia 35 108 Aesthetica 36 106 The Spodic Empire (Cumulonimbia win the tiebreak with Aesthetica by 16 votes to 12) I've just sneakily updated the final scoreboard on page 8 so it's all correct there now!
  12. Full results from week 21: Best: Hey Ya! x9 Get Busy x6 Lose Yourself x6 Crazy In Love x4 In Da Club x4 Drop It Like It's Hot x2 Gold Digger x2 Hollaback Girl x2 You're Beautiful x2 Foolish Hot In Herre I Believe Stand Up Temperature This Is The Night The Way You Move We Belong Together Worst: I Believe x4 Laffy Taffy x4 This Is The Night x4 Burn x3 Grillz x2 Shake Ya Tailfeather x2 You're Beautiful x2 Candy Shop Check On It Hollaback Girl Hey Ya! A Moment Like This Slow Motion Yeah! ~ My votes for this week: Best: Coldplay - Viva La Vida Flo Rida - Low (feat. T-Pain) Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around... Comes Around Nelly Furtado - Say It Right Shakira - Hips Don't Lie (feat. Wyclef Jean) Just missing out: 'Promiscuous', 'Umbrella', 'So What', 'Ridin'', 'Irreplaceable', 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' (I wanted to fit that in as I assume it's unlikely anyone else will but I can't bring myself to sacrifice any of the 5 above x) Worst: Kanye West - Stronger Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls I feel like I can be more vociferous in my dislike of 'Stronger' given what Kanye has become personally, but I never liked it anyway x (though it is the best of the 3 songs here, the other 2 are absolute stinkers)
  13. In lieu of the previous SyncTube sessions' weekly polls cutting each week's songs down to a list of 10 options to vote for because no one volunteered to do the work to make such curated lists, for our Hot 100 #1s marathon I'm just going to post one of these threads each week allowing people to vote for whichever songs they want from the full list x If you don't know what the above sentence is referring to don't worry, this thread is open to participation from anyone (although we're always open to new participants at our weekly listening sessions x), just post in the thread with up to 5 favourites and, if you want, up to 3 least favourites from the below song list. The song with the most favourite nods will get a play at the start of next week's session (and the song with the most least favourite nods will just have a permanent place on a wall of shame for funziez). It was an easy second best poll win in a row for OutKast with 'Hey Ya!' following 'Ms. Jackson' to the top on 9 votes, having a rare clear lead over the field as the joint closest competition of Sean Paul's 'Get Busy' and Eminem's 'Lose Yourself' were both 3 votes behind. OutKast become the second act to have 2 wins on the poll following Simon & Garfunkel's wins in weeks 3 and 5. Over on the worst poll we had our first ever 3 way tie for victory as a late vote bumped Fantasia's 'I Believe' up to 4 votes, matching the tally of the already tied leaders D4L's 'Laffy Taffy' and Clay Aiken's 'This Is The Night'. 14. It feels a little bit icky to me that Everything Everything needed to sign with a big label again to return to getting Radio 1 support. Of course not complaining that they are being played again but there were so many great singles from the previous couple of albums that surely should have been well up R1's alley!

  17. 'Moves Like Jagger' never actually did get playlisted. (although it did start getting the occasional play later on)
  18. Why So Sirius is not a different country x
  19. Klum Rep jumping directly from the highest non-winner to the highest 1-time winner (and indeed would be the highest 2-time, 3-time, 4-time or 5-time winner with that number of 2nd place finishes, as it's only the top 4 that have more, just putting into perspective how bad their bridesmaid curse was!)
  20. 'Flash In The Pan' actually came super close to snatching my 18 at the last minute, it's been a huge earworm for me the last few days - deserved better but still just happy to see them in the final at all after 2 previous entries came nowhere near x
  21. Brer posted a post in a topic in Indie, Rock and Alternative
Me every time this thread is bumped and I think there's actual news 🤡
  22. I'll be doing my usual double check of the whole scoreboard when I get home (sorry for being tardy, I was far too tired last night) but thanks Jim for saving me some effort identifying that
  23. I'll double check later but I think it's Séyetana inheriting this 'honour' now!
  24. I'll reply to this properly tomorrow, sorry I vanished from the thread fairly early, I am becoming more and more like Math with each passing week and fell asleep for the bulk of results so decided I'd just wait until the end to catch up (minus some low effort reacts to let you know I'm still alive) ddd. But a big well done to Klum for fiiiinally getting that win, I did sense as soon as I heard this song that this might be your realest chance to date (and that was before even knowing it was Rose Gray which you're still banned for xx). Will also need to do my double checking of the scoreboard tomorrow oop so insert the usual health warning about positions potentially changing etc. And wow me getting my first top 5 hit in over two years after being mentioned a grand total of zero times in contender discussions x (I had a quiet confidence / delusion that I'd do better than predicted again honestly, I had hopes this song might strike a similar chord to the likes of BLACKSHAPE and Sadness, which it didn't quite match but not far off - in any case I didn't want to post about it and jinx it lol). Again will go back and thank everyone properly tomorrow but thanks to NocheLuna in particular for providing my only 18 *.* (also... the first time ever that Jadaphonia have both finished in the top 5! only the third time we've ever even both been top 10)
  25. Thanks Mack being reliable as ever in lifting me off 0 x
