Big songs Radio 1 snubbed (at least at first)
It feels a little bit icky to me that Everything Everything needed to sign with a big label again to return to getting Radio 1 support. Of course not complaining that they are being played again but there were so many great singles from the previous couple of albums that surely should have been well up R1's alley!

'Moves Like Jagger' never actually did get playlisted. (although it did start getting the occasional play later on)

The Official Stats of the Buzzjack Song Contest
Klum Rep jumping directly from the highest non-winner to the highest 1-time winner (and indeed would be the highest 2-time, 3-time, 4-time or 5-time winner with that number of 2nd place finishes, as it's only the top 4 that have more, just putting into perspective how bad their bridesmaid curse was!)

π’ BJSC 172 β’ RESULTADO FINAL π’
'Flash In The Pan' actually came super close to snatching my 18 at the last minute, it's been a huge earworm for me the last few days - deserved better but still just happy to see them in the final at all after 2 previous entries came nowhere near x

π’ BJSC 172 β’ RESULTADO FINAL π’
I'll be doing my usual double check of the whole scoreboard when I get home (sorry for being tardy, I was far too tired last night) but thanks Jim for saving me some effort identifying that
-
π’ BJSC 172 β’ RESULTADO FINAL π’
I'll double check later but I think it's SΓ©yetana inheriting this 'honour' now!

π’ BJSC 172 β’ RESULTADO FINAL π’
I'll reply to this properly tomorrow, sorry I vanished from the thread fairly early, I am becoming more and more like Math with each passing week and fell asleep for the bulk of results so decided I'd just wait until the end to catch up (minus some low effort reacts to let you know I'm still alive) ddd. But a big well done to Klum for fiiiinally getting that win, I did sense as soon as I heard this song that this might be your realest chance to date (and that was before even knowing it was Rose Gray which you're still banned for xx). Will also need to do my double checking of the scoreboard tomorrow oop so insert the usual health warning about positions potentially changing etc. And wow me getting my first top 5 hit in over two years after being mentioned a grand total of zero times in contender discussions x (I had a quiet confidence / delusion that I'd do better than predicted again honestly, I had hopes this song might strike a similar chord to the likes of BLACKSHAPE and Sadness, which it didn't quite match but not far off - in any case I didn't want to post about it and jinx it lol). Again will go back and thank everyone properly tomorrow but thanks to NocheLuna in particular for providing my only 18 *.* (also... the first time ever that Jadaphonia have both finished in the top 5! only the third time we've ever even both been top 10)

Doechii - Anxiety
This song is even older than 'Pink Pony Club'...! (Although hasn't been released outside of YouTube until now, other than as the sample on Sleepy Hallow's song of the same name).

The BRIT Awards 2025
Thought the performer lineup was pretty lacklustre this year but I enjoyed the ceremony more than I expected on the whole. Thought Jack Whitehall did a pretty good job as the host personally and some very strong and important speeches from the likes of Myles Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective (makes me wish I liked the music of the first two of those more than I do x). JADE's performance was great and Ezra Collective were a fun closer to the show as well (was good to hear them doing 'Victory Dance' again despite it being a few years old, that was a great moment when they performed it at the Mercury ceremony, also enjoyed Jorja Smith's cameo). Lola Young's performance was decent too although her accent does come across stronger live than on record which is not necessarily a good thing oop x Didn't care for the rest of the performances, all songs I don't really care about and not performed in a particularly interesting way. Apart from Sabrina I guess, who just made me cringe in true Sabrina fashion. Here for the Charli award sweep and was happy to see the awards for 'Good Luck, Babe!', Fontaines D.C. and Ezra Collective too. Also I do kind of understand Stormzy's point about saying the awards shouldn't be fan voted. And a nice tribute to Liam Payne at the end ofc.

#1 Sales Less Than 40K
Possibly 'Pink Pony Club' this week lol ~ (unless it gets a bump from her BRIT wins)

Club Bizarre Vol. 30: βπ¬ - RESULTS
Congrats Dan, a brilliant winner there (narrowly missing my own podium) and I voted for all of the top 4, particularly thrilled to see abji_hypersun nicheing her way all the way up there! (Sorry Jim I hope I wasn't coming across too dismissive with my posts in this thread, I really like 'harvest sky' and would have been happy with it winning too but I just didn't want to see it stomping over the competition which I thought might happen and would have felt a little anticlimactic - I do like you pulling out the receipts to prove it wasn't just a cheap pick haha. Meanwhile I continue to sit here all smug with myself that I sent Oklou to the Pop Forum Song Contest all the way back in 2022 ) Also voted for all of 6th through 9th (pleasantly surprised how well Evita Manji did + hooray for Clara CuvΓ© rallying so much in the second half) so 8 of the top 10 in all, but where my finger was off the pulse it was way off as the other two I voted for were literally the bottom 2 haha. Justice 4 THELMA and Phoebe </3 (and DJ Miss Parker and Park Hye Jin were both commiserations for me too so it's a really underrated bottom 5 in all - the latter had a song in BJSC that was paid dust as well unfortunately, BuzzJack still not ready for non Peggy Gou Korean house music I fear). 16th is a solid result for Ikonika in the end, from the first batch of votes I quickly resigned myself to probably being bottom 5 if not last, so was great to see a few more fans later on in the thread. In case anyone would care, I found her by browsing the artist roster of Hyperdub Records (Burial's label), this song wasn't released under them but she has released other stuff with them. Thanks for the hosting Kath, beautiful presentation (which must have taken a while with the new site's less preparation-friendly formatting options??) and loved all the fun facts throughout x
