This song is even older than 'Pink Pony Club'...! (Although hasn't been released outside of YouTube until now, other than as the sample on Sleepy Hallow's song of the same name).
  2. Oops I didn't realise the deadline was as soon as today - better get on with my relisten when I get home then x
  3. Oh someone is getting banned xx (although I'd never have recognised the voice without knowing who it was lol)
  4. https://sync-tube.de/room/ApAM3t-I Final listenthrough starting soon after 8pm (I still need to make the YT playlist oop, will post it here when I've done that x) edit:

Thought the performer lineup was pretty lacklustre this year but I enjoyed the ceremony more than I expected on the whole. Thought Jack Whitehall did a pretty good job as the host personally and some very strong and important speeches from the likes of Myles Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective (makes me wish I liked the music of the first two of those more than I do x). JADE's performance was great and Ezra Collective were a fun closer to the show as well (was good to hear them doing 'Victory Dance' again despite it being a few years old, that was a great moment when they performed it at the Mercury ceremony, also enjoyed Jorja Smith's cameo). Lola Young's performance was decent too although her accent does come across stronger live than on record which is not necessarily a good thing oop x Didn't care for the rest of the performances, all songs I don't really care about and not performed in a particularly interesting way. Apart from Sabrina I guess, who just made me cringe in true Sabrina fashion. Here for the Charli award sweep and was happy to see the awards for 'Good Luck, Babe!', Fontaines D.C. and Ezra Collective too. Also I do kind of understand Stormzy's point about saying the awards shouldn't be fan voted. And a nice tribute to Liam Payne at the end ofc.

Possibly 'Pink Pony Club' this week lol ~ (unless it gets a bump from her BRIT wins)
  7. If you're just searching in one forum, going to that forum and starting the search from there will automatically search only in that forum.
  8. Happy to do a final listenthrough tomorrow
  9. Congrats Dan, a brilliant winner there (narrowly missing my own podium) and I voted for all of the top 4, particularly thrilled to see abji_hypersun nicheing her way all the way up there! (Sorry Jim I hope I wasn't coming across too dismissive with my posts in this thread, I really like 'harvest sky' and would have been happy with it winning too but I just didn't want to see it stomping over the competition which I thought might happen and would have felt a little anticlimactic - I do like you pulling out the receipts to prove it wasn't just a cheap pick haha. Meanwhile I continue to sit here all smug with myself that I sent Oklou to the Pop Forum Song Contest all the way back in 2022 ) Also voted for all of 6th through 9th (pleasantly surprised how well Evita Manji did + hooray for Clara Cuvé rallying so much in the second half) so 8 of the top 10 in all, but where my finger was off the pulse it was way off as the other two I voted for were literally the bottom 2 haha. Justice 4 THELMA and Phoebe </3 (and DJ Miss Parker and Park Hye Jin were both commiserations for me too so it's a really underrated bottom 5 in all - the latter had a song in BJSC that was paid dust as well unfortunately, BuzzJack still not ready for non Peggy Gou Korean house music I fear). 16th is a solid result for Ikonika in the end, from the first batch of votes I quickly resigned myself to probably being bottom 5 if not last, so was great to see a few more fans later on in the thread. In case anyone would care, I found her by browsing the artist roster of Hyperdub Records (Burial's label), this song wasn't released under them but she has released other stuff with them. Thanks for the hosting Kath, beautiful presentation (which must have taken a while with the new site's less preparation-friendly formatting options??) and loved all the fun facts throughout x
  10. Non voters both not having too much to lose then oop. Poor brave THELMA tho :'(
  11. Thanks RFC and Scene for keeping the points rolling in <3 Disappointing that Phoebe Massey has done so poorly, I feel like the running order might not have helped it out (being right after a much more in your face alternative-leaning track from abji_hypersun), still had to squeeze it into my votes in the end though. Fun song from Anna Lunoe too, was just outside my commiserations.
  12. Ooh yay Ikonika picking up at least one medal (and after already managing to escape the bottom 5 following the very slow start) *.* thanks Leww! <3 (Indira would be a great winner if that holds! Pleased that it hasn't just been an Oklou landslide as I thought it might be and in fact Oklou might not win at all)
  13. Ahh sorry Kath I had DJ Miss Parker in my votes after my first listen but they got kicked down a few places by a number of growers (mainly Oklou), will still be making it onto my shuffle playlist anyway, deserves better x Also thank youuu for my joint highest points so far hooray, things looking up a bit ~ (I do appreciate the picking an obscure artist! interesting to see all the Spotify monthly listeners stats earlier in the thread)
  14. Wow I'd never have predicted abji_hypersun being Rich's entry - I thought it sounded like !!! although she ofc didn't enter (@!!! you should enter this next time xo), then was sure it'd be Pavel after checking the list of participants. Very easy 12 for me anyway, what an absolute tune, nice find there Rich. Strong entries from Doctor B and Jade also! (and thanks Doc for a few more points x) edit: woo thanks Jim for some more points too - 'harvest sky' surprisingly didn't really click with me on first listen but I've listened to it a couple more times since then and don't know what I was thinking on that first listen, it is another great one from her (although I think I still slightly prefer 'choke enough'). Will be checking out the rest of her album very soon.
  15. Figures it was Dobbo sending B-complex again - didn't like this one quiiite as much as the one you sent to BJSC but still another goodun.
  16. I figured Charlie would be dandy*'s entry due to insider knowledge from this month's BJSC confirmations period hehe Another great entry anyway, quite Marie Davidson-esque so may have clashed a bit with 'Demolition' if it had been in BJSC instead. And thanks for a nice injection of points for Ikonika there, might yet get to double figures!
  17. Well I'm tanking so far as expected - don't think being death slotted helped but I guess it was probably likely to blend in a bit regardless, I still stand by it but admittedly there were many more instant songs to be found here x Thanks Ansel for keeping me off 0 so far at least x Excellent entries from Chez and Dan <3 (should have guessed the former would be Chez). (and I have some great company in the bottom of the scoreboard lol - THELMA and Phoebe to get more points ASAP too x)
  18. Oh wow did not know that about Evita Manji - great song, it needs to be off 0 ASAP pls xx
  19. Oh I am gagged by the existence of a supergroup with Daniel Avery and Working Men's Club involved.
  20. Oop I may not be paying the most attention as I suck at multitasking but I'll try! Pretty sure I'll be tanking oop but we'll see ~ (and I feel like Oklou is the obvious winner here, wouldn't be mad at it but I hope it won't be too much of a landslide x)
  21. https://sync-tube.de/room/G3URuYMG Starting shortly
  22. Full results from week 20: Best: Ms. Jackson x8 Genie In A Bottle x7 Family Affair x6 No Scrubs x6 Try Again x6 Believe x5 Music x4 Amazed x3 Fallin' x2 If You Had My Love x2 Be With You Bent Bootylicious Doesn't Really Matter Everything You Want It Wasn't Me Livin' La Vida Loca Maria Maria Smooth Unpretty Worst: Thank God I Found You x9 Incomplete x6 With Arms Wide Open x5 How You Remind Me x2 It Wasn't Me x2 Lady Marmalade x2 Believe Heartbreaker I Knew I Loved You No Scrubs Wild Wild West ~ My votes for this week: Best: 50 Cent - In Da Club Eminem - Lose Yourself Kanye West - Gold Digger (feat. Jamie Foxx) OutKast - Hey Ya! Snoop Dogg - Drop It Like It's Hot (feat. Pharrell) Just missing out: 'Hot In Herre', 'The Way You Move', 'Get Busy', 'Crazy In Love', 'Dilemma' and with great regret (really wish I could vote for 6 this week) 'Yeah!' Worst: James Blunt - You're Beautiful I think I'll just stick with the one clear lowlight this week, could probably add 2 of the American Idol slop singles but I don't really remember the difference between them frankly oop
  23. In lieu of the previous SyncTube sessions' weekly polls cutting each week's songs down to a list of 10 options to vote for because no one volunteered to do the work to make such curated lists, for our Hot 100 #1s marathon I'm just going to post one of these threads each week allowing people to vote for whichever songs they want from the full list x If you don't know what the above sentence is referring to don't worry, this thread is open to participation from anyone (although we're always open to new participants at our weekly listening sessions x), just post in the thread with up to 5 favourites and, if you want, up to 3 least favourites from the below song list. The song with the most favourite nods will get a play at the start of next week's session (and the song with the most least favourite nods will just have a permanent place on a wall of shame for funziez). OutKast topped the best poll for week 20 with 8 votes for 'Ms. Jackson' making it 3 hip-hop winners in a row, having a two vote lead at the time of the week 21 listenthrough starting but narrowed to the traditional one vote gap with a late vote included, that runner up on 7 votes being Christina Aguilera's 'Genie In A Bottle' which broke out of what had been a 3 way tie for 2nd. Instead it ended up being a 3 way tie for 3rd with the late vote bumping Aaliyah's 'Try Again' up to 6 votes, equal with Mary J. Blige's 'Family Affair' and TLC's 'No Scrubs'. Over on the worst poll it was a comfortable win for Mariah Carey and co. with 'Thank God I Found You' getting 9 votes, heading a clear top 3 ahead of SisQó's 'Incomplete' on 6 votes and Creed's 'With Arms Wide Open' on 5. With so many #1s Mariah was bound to top one of these polls at some point, yet to be seen if she can also top a best poll. Ashanti)) to the start of April 2006 (Sean Paul's 'Temperature'). I've been slacking with getting this thread up once again oops so will see how many votes this gets before 4pm and if there aren't enough to crown a winner I'll leave it open another week again (although so far when I've done this we've been good at getting a good amount of votes in quickly x). 50 Cent - 21 Questions (feat. 24. And I suppose we'll want to do RIP slots for Roberta Flack and Angie Stone? Not sure what songs though. We had both of the obvious choices for Roberta as US #1s already.
