  1. Thank you Mack
  2. Off to a solid start hooray, thanks Scene!
  3. Probably much too late to be of use to anyone but here's a YouTube playlist as no one posted one yet x
  4. Am going to start a relisten in just a min so my votes will be in soon x (multitasking with BJSC results oop)
  5. I will give my last minute energy to Cumulonimbia
  6. It is exciting to have a results show where it seems absolutely no one knows who's going to win (except me, I know that I'm winning xx). In all seriousness I hope this should at least be a better result for me than the last handful of contests and I'll just hope the winner ends up being one of the ~2 or 3 songs that have been named as contenders that I actually voted for xx
  7. The sneak was Rob not mentioning me despite the fact I am obviously winning x
  8. This is the energy we need
  9. I will note that one of said countries I rarely receive points from (and by rarely I mean have never received a single point from) is a certain Herbilore.
  10. The best evidence I can give is that Cor Lupus still do well all the time despite annoying everyone xx (love you Cody)
  11. I really don't see what reason anyone would have to not vote for you specifically. There are plenty of countries that I rarely ever give points to or receive points from, it's just down to taste and a little bit of luck. Remember you can only vote for 15 out of 40-42 songs (a higher proportion in the semi but also half the time any given country won't be able to vote for you in the semi at all even if they wanted to).

Voted have been quite generous with the commiserations again x (and as per usual several of the songs most talked up as winners are among them)
  13. I like Chris' predictions the most x

It was disqualified from the chart because of the takedown notices issued to the song that have led it to be removed from streaming services. The exact reason for those takedown notices is speculation.
  15. Are you employed by EE and/or Global Media xx

Yes I think she'll probably be a way off but worth mentioning considering she had the highest opening sales last time. (Also The Last Dinner Party did actually hold up reasonably well with their second album which I didn't expect either so you never know) The weekly comment

5 Seconds Of Summer, Celeste and D-Block Europe all got to #1 with their last albums. Previous opening sales: Celeste: 22.5k (2021) DBE: 18.4k (2024) 5SOS: 14.9k (2022) Seems like any of the 3 could be realistic #1 contenders this week depending on how well their sales hold up / what tactics they're using. Otherwise could be close between Taylor and Olivia. Not the most inspiring line-up of artists but good to have quite an unpredictable feeling week. I see there's also apparently a reissue of an Oasis live album so maybe that could be a spanner? (Summer Walker's last album did 9.6k to debut at #5 in 2021, but I don't think I'd be anticipating the new one doing much better than that).
  18. Well Tame Impala both gained and lost the 'one hit wonder' tag over the span of 3 weeks technically (taking the definition of 'one hit wonder' as being one top 40 hit which is the specification in the Bop Idol contest I was referring to).
  19. I'd rather have AI than Sabrina thanks x
  20. ^ it wasn't the overall country chart, it was the country digital sales chart i.e. basically meaningless

Was slightly before my time but it was Leonville and Camtoro (and then later Fortunia and Mykanovia, who were found out partway through a contest and both got disqualified just before the semi-final results, the former would actually have won the semi otherwise!) I'm not sure if Leonville/Camtoro were actually formally banned or if they just quietly slipped away with their aliasdom just being an open secret.
  22. 'The Fate Of Ophelia' is my birthday #1 this year then. Well... it is by far the best song on this mediocre album at least! And a massive improvement on Gracie Abrams being my birthday #1 last year :') Tuned in for most of the show again and was my first time hearing 4 of the songs, the Sonny Fodera and Digga D songs both sounded quite good by their usual standards (not a high bar, mind, but I was quite enjoying both of them), I'm a little surprised to see this is the first time Poppy Baskcomb has charted as I'm sure she's quite a prolific dance vocalist! The Fred again.. one was another tune from him and 'A Couple Minutes' was sounding quite nice if not a new Olivia fave for me - was a little amusing that they played EsDeeKid followed by a trio of pretty middle of the road soul-pop-ish songs from Skye, Olivia and SIENNA mind, 'Die On This Hill' has been gradually growing on me one the last few weeks and I think I have to admit I actually really like it now. I tuned out after #9 and assumed that I just missed HAVEN., what a mess that actually ended up being disqualified entirely oops! Means 'Berghain' got to be one place higher though so not complaining Lots of good tunes getting new peaks this week actually, 'Die On This Hill' as mentioned above but I also like 'So Easy (To Fall In Love)', both of the EsDeeKid songs and 'Folded'. Not so much at 'FU & UF' though, has to be the most painful vocals from Skye to date (and I take back saying the other week that SIENNA SPIRO sounds exactly like her, still think their voices are similar but hearing their current hits nearly back to back really highlighted how much more competent SIENNA is, the thought of Skye trying to sing 'Die On This Hill' is making me wince x). Good to see 'No Weapons' charting this week lower down as well and wow at Florence + The Machine maybe looking at getting a decent post-album hit! Plus ROSALÍA grabbing two more top 60 hits including her first solo chart appearance *.* (I am being very lazy with album listening again and am still yet to hear either 'Everybody Scream' or 'LUX' oop but will get on them ASAP xx)

And again it was also charting in the week of my birthday in its original run although way off making an earlier appearance on the list (was #66 for my 9th birthday). Great addition *.* If the pattern continues, #30 this time next year will be something that appeared somewhere low down the chart of the week of my birth... I see 'Born Slippy' sneaking a re-entry in that week so rooting for that to make a random resurgence next year xo
  24. It's gone on Spotify for me now as well. Kind of expecting any day to see Jorja Smith's label put out an official version of the song with suspiciously identical production.

'LUX' breaking the record for the highest charting album by a Spanish woman sounds like something resembling a notable record on paper but actually have any other Spanish women ever charted before? She might well have already held that record from 'MOTOMAMI' charting at #42. Maybe I'm missing something obvious though. Fantastic to see her clearing 5 figures anyway and being comfortably top 5 (so close to top 3), plus managing to get 3 songs in the singles chart and even snagging a #1 on the ever important album downloads chart *.* (#4 on both sales and physicals and #7 on streaming, higher than Bad Bunny's latest album managed!) Much too early to start thinking about the follow-up really but with how well received this album has been it does make you wonder if the momentum can continue enough for her to be contending for a #1 next time around...
