  1. Yes this contest gets the BJSC spinoff widget, I'll nudge Joseph x (I think there may be a few other song contest widgets which haven't been added yet but it's more annoying to check in the new site unfortunately! Will need to do some digging x) Just had a vague memory that Mulgracia's Cosmic Gate (BJFest IV winner) went through AC, checked and it did indeed - don't know if that's the only one or not!
  2. We have Greatest Hits Radio on at work most of the time now so I keep hearing bits of this again and playing along in my head when I can - tends to always get interrupted by calls / people talking over it though.
  3. Oooh a very close finish there - the whole top 3 is the same as my own top 3 but in reverse order anyway so we stan the taste, well done @!!! on I believe your first song contest win anywhere on the site! I should perhaps have had a little more insight on that being a contender because it won the semi-final I hosted by a pretty wide margin actually but could always have just been a good draw for it x We love to see Rico Nasty completing her journey from tanking when I sent her to now being a contest winner *.* Yay for Nuovo Testamento managing a great result here, shall still be keeping an eye out for them to eventually make an appearance in the main contest ~ + yasss at Cannelle on the podium and nice at Vendredi Sur Mer making the top 5 as well after both coming through AC, my only real complaint here is ADÉLA really should have done a bit better, must have been a fair few poppier countries who didn't vote I guess x Here are the full results from semi 1 for anyone who may be interested! 4. Oops I might have been a little wrong with my Yehesi spidey sense. Might be one that'd have done better in a main contest but happy it did get to the final here at least x This top 4 so far though *.*
  5. Jive Bunny legend ('Love Shack' and 'Blue Savannah' both entering the top 10 in the same week though *.*)
  6. Fair (Ozzy Osbourne to be a big enough RIP to get multiple songs played when we come back? Could definitely at least have a solo song and a Sabbath song x)
  7. Wouldn't be surprised if 'Champagne Coast' eventually gets a boost into the top 40 from somewhere, it's been hanging around in the top 200 on Spotify for most of the year.
  8. I'd love Neliönoir to win, my spidey sense predicts a Yehesi win (which I'd also be happy with x) but it's really very dependent on who actually voted tbf!

Two singles in a row that have already been performed live a long time before release, has she just not made any new songs this year? x
  10. I went out for a walk during the second half and thought it kept looking increasingly likely that it'd all be over by the time I got home... but then we got the equaliser very shortly after I got back in so I was still able to tune in for extra time (and hooray for it not going to penalties again lol, could do without going through that stress a second time in a week)
  11. It's a pretty confusing release but if I am understanding correctly 'Firecracker' is probably the song you know - it's tagged as if it's a double A-Side but there were 3 tracks on the UK CD release, 'Computer Game (Theme From 'The Invaders')' is a ~1 minute interlude track from the album that effectively just serves as an intro to 'Firecracker' with both being on the same side (and then it has an actual B-Side 'Technopolis').
  12. Will the clash with the women's Euro finals be an issue this week? (I'm probably fine to multitask - of course we were about 2 minutes and one Michelle Agyemang away from me not caring at all about the final x)

+5 Victory Lap +4 Nice To Each Other +3 Sapphire +2 Dior +1 Blessings -1 DAISIES -2 Survive -3 Ordinary -4 Golden -5 Manchild I do think 'DAISIES' might be a grower, only heard it the once so far and it didn't leave too much of an impression but I do generally appreciate the vibe of it. I've heard 'Golden' twice and both times it went directly in one ear and out the other, 'Your Idol' is better. 'Nice To Each Other' is a great addition to the top 10 though, sounded better and better over time and I'm not usually a fan of Olivia. Aside: 8/10 songs in this top 10 having one word titles oh my
  14. Sorry again for not voting (I was going to do so on the final day then realised it wasn't a midnight vote deadline and I didn't have time to), I 100% promise I will vote in the final! So many excellent songs going out at this stage though while Imagine Dragons' 'Believer' gets through? Excuse me? x
  15. Very close all 3 ways here! Switching to KT Tunstall now.

  17. Bow Wow Wow - C·30 C·60 C·90 Go David Bowie - Ashes To Ashes John Foxx - Burning Car Split Enz - I Got You Ultravox - Sleepwalk Bowie aside, mostly songs that are quite new to me getting my votes this week - John Foxx was definitely a first listen (3 for 3 on him getting nominations from me!) and I am not sure I've ever heard the Bow Wow Wow or Ultravox songs in full before either although they did both sound familiar. Split Enz was a recent discovery from BJSC. Next best songs that I already knew well are George Benson and ABBA, and next best discoveries were Hazel O'Connor, Grace Jones and Peter Gabriel. I do have a feeling the Grace Jones one in particular could grow on me a lot more with more listens, very interesting song!
  18. Yes there's no negative reviews if you dismiss all of the negative reviews. Revolutionary
  19. Lol ok x
  20. good thing I didn't read those then xox
  21. Well done @Scene and @King Rollo, an excellent top 2 in the end - and wow Avril actually winning both parts of the final vote, even with the album track. PSB so close to blocking Xtina from a top 2 spot in the first part as well! This has been good fun to take part in and follow along with so thanks @Calum for the concept and hosting :3 Assuming there will be a second edition of this some time (don't see why not when this has been such a success x) I'll try to stick at least a little closer to the 'pop' part of the concept, I did only really jump into this at the last minute on a whim and thought I'd have some fun introducing some James Blake tracks to a potentially unfamiliar audience, but I did genuinely try to make an effort to pick at least a handful of songs from him that I thought might provide some good discoveries for people here if they listen with an open mind (I admittedly fell back on just hoping niche votes would suffice when I sent 'The Wilhelm Scream' lol but all the others were good faith attempts at crossover appeal!! I came very close to sending 'If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead' to troll the pop hoes in the Golden Wagner round so be thankful I didn't do that if the songs I did send were hard to swallow ) and that your option if you're willing to taint your own creation with dodgy AI graphics xx I will spare you my ire as long as I can trust your writeups have actually been your own effort as I have enjoyed reading them x
  22. Love to see 'Illegal' sneaking in - PinkPantheress' first solo Hot 100 entry *.*
  23. PSB would be my preferred winner on the strength of their discography but I think Avril winning would be a good reflection of just how well Scene has been playing the song choices throughout, she has a pretty hit or miss discography for me but I think I've enjoyed all of her songs that have been sent here. Although Christina will probably win because Addy just wins everything in big 2025 etc. ()
