  1. Inb4 Oslol didn't vote and cost themselves winning as a result

(I did nudge imaduck + Math with a little under 24 hours to go as usual x)

Let me know if there are any votes you're unsure of the identity of still WoW ~ sorry I didn't give you an updated who's who list this time as I probably should have!

  2. MSNBC projecting Republicans only barely winning the house right now (219-216 with a margin of error +/- 13). Hopium? I don't know if this makes me want to go to bed more or less.

North Carolina's 13th district has apparently also gone D after being projected as likely R.

  3. I lied about going to bed

🚨 UPSET ALERT 🚨 In our first two upsets of the night (whenever the projected winner had less than a 40-in-100 chance in the final Deluxe forecast) ABC News projects that Democrat Emilia Sykes will win OH-13 over Republican Madison Gesiotto Gilbert. Sykes had a 18.6 percent chance of winning in FiveThirtyEight’s final Deluxe pre-election forecast. And in Ohio’s 1st District, Democrat Greg Landsman is projected to win over incumbent Republican Rep. Steve Chabot. Landsman had a 16.1 percent chance of winning in the final Deluxe preelection forecast.

Ohio coming through! Encouraging news that the first confirmed 'upsets' are in favour of the Democrats (though sadly the Senate race there was already called for the Republicans, not that that was surprising).

  4. I wouldn't worry about Fetterman now. He's apparently beating Biden's margins across the state. The PA governor race is also already called for the Dems, although that was not looking as close in the polls anyway but still great news.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna head to bed now, I don't feel as much doom as I expected, yay

(still a bit doom, we're about to see the House impeach Biden about 10 times for shits and giggles)

  5. FiveThirtyEight implying there's a not-entirely-impossible chance Lauren Boebert might lose her seat which would be a huge upset and yeeting out one of the most extreme Trumpians in the House. Even if Dems still lose the House overall (they will) can we at least have that pls.

(and for what it's worth the betting odds on PredictIt.org, which were previously pretty heavily predicting Reps to win both houses, have now shifted pretty solidly to a prediction of D Senate/R House)

Republicans only need to flip a net of 5 House seats to win and so far they've already flipped 3, although they are all mainly because of new gerrymandering (I think there'll be a few flips in the other direction for the same reason), too early for any more meaningful flips to be confirmed yet I guess.

  6. So far it looks like Florida is going full Florida but the Dems are doing ok pretty much everywhere else (though it's a bit early). Trying not to follow this too obsessively for my own health but it's hard to entirely avoid the pull of the doomscroll.
  7. Billy Connolly also having a hit with a cover of 'No Charge' sounds deeply cursed. 'D.I.V.O.R.C.E.' was my 37 pointer, I don't get the comedy.

'Shout' is naff but in a kind of fun way (also it's amusing remembering how badly we did that year x), would take it over 'Come On You Reds' any day.

  8. 'Rich Flex' did overtake 'Unholy' between the First Look and Monday mids which suggests it has a decent chance of holding #2 I'd think - also it was only 36k ahead of 'Unholy' on Spotify yesterday but back to 123k ahead today!

I've seen some suggestion on Reddit that 'Rich Flex' is getting some TikTok virality already but hard to tell if that's having much of an effect on its numbers (it's pretty common for album bombs to recover a bit on Monday after falling over the weekend, and indeed a lot of the songs on the Drake/21 album have climbed today).

  9. 'Wake Me Up' got 39 from me, I'm not a massive fan of the original song in the first place and this cover is just totally void of musical merit with the 'please, please, buy this record' being on the actual recorded version of the song being the cherry on top.

Robson & Jerome obviously pretty bad too. I am surprised Peter Andre is this high though (I gave it 23 points so it's around the same place I ranked it but I would have thought it'd get more people ranking it lowly for being merely boring rather than outright bad).

  10. 'Glimpse Of Us' has a thread in R&B/hip-hop as well :kink: he doesn't really fit neatly into any of the genres tbh but he's historically more closely associated with that scene than pop/alternative (although the music this era is less so)

Anyway, looking forward to hearing this album as 'Glimpse Of Us' is probably my favourite top 40 hit of the year so far and I really liked 'YUKON (INTERLUDE)' too - odd to release a song tagged as an interlude as a single but it's long and structured enough that it doesn't really sound like one anyway tbh. Interesting that he's stepped down to only having 9 songs this time, his last album felt a tad too long/bloated but now worried this one might have the opposite problem
