  1. I am surprised 'HENTAI' is the one getting nominations (especially for song of the year which is meant to be for the lyrics which I remember being pretty specifically panned for that song!) but it is one of my favourites so I'm not complaining, hope she picks up a few wins.
  2. Aw I actually voted to keep 'Cake' because it got a criminally low level of engagement on BuzzJack before so thought it'd be good to force it on more people via BJSC :kink: (but yeah fair enough, more people need to hear it anyway though, it is a megabanger).
  3. 3 of the 8 new entries this week dating from 2019 or earlier  I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence or they quietly changed a rule this week to allow Lil Baby and Ghost to both enter despite being years old and below the top 50 - I've noticed 'Freestyle' being top 10 on Apple Music for a while now for some reason (TikTok I presume x) so I'm guessing it should have been doing big enough numbers to enter the chart for the last few weeks as well! I remember that song being on the Bubbling Under chart for an eternity so good to see it finally registering a Hot 100 position I suppose, though lol at a 2017 Lil Baby song slotting in just 4 places below his most recent single.

(In fact just noticed Steve Lacy's 'Dark Red' as a new entry on Bubbling Under too which also seems strange, especially going in at #1, was it really dramatically more popular last week than it ever had been before?)

Yay for a new peak for 'Something In The Orange' and curious to see if I'll be a fan of this new hit from him too (I've listened to a few other songs from him already and generally enjoyed them too although SITO is still comfortably the best I've heard).

  4. Ooh nice for Sampa The Great, didn't know she was that big even in Australia. Have listened to a bit of Marlon Williams since seeing him live as a support for Lorde alhough I wasn't really paying attention to his set at all oops and he's got some good stuff, especially enjoyed 'River Rival' from the new album.
  5. I am going to vote in this tonight but it might be just after midnight.

    edit:

    Intolerable:

+25 Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up

+24 Right Said Fred - Deeply Dippy (ehhh I thought this would be my +25 but to be fair there are parts of it that are fine, IWSYU is more of an intolerable slog throughout)

    Bad:

+23 Band Aid II - Do They Know It's Christmas?

+22 The Manchester United Football Squad - Come On You Reds

    +21 Robson & Jerome - Unchained Melody

    Boring:

+20 Nick Berry - Every Loser Wins

+19 Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Love You

+18 Chris De Burgh - The Lady In Red

Honestly I kind of like all of the rest? This isn't really a bad list at all lol. I guess I have a high tolerance for this era of novelty hits and a few slower songs that I don't mind. Admittedly there isn't anything that I would put anywhere near a best #1s list like with Fatman Scoop and 3 Of A Kind in heat 3 but still.

+17 Bombalurina - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

+16 Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder - Ebony And Ivory

+15 Jive Bunny & The Mastermixers - Let's Party (I want to stick up for Jive Bunny more but tbf this is definitely weaker than the other 2)

+14 Joe Dolce Music Theatre - Shaddap You Face (obviously it's offensive that this held Ultravox off #1 but in its own right it's fine as a curious novelty song)

+13 U.S.A. For Africa - We Are The World

+12 Renée & Renato - Save Your Love

+11 Hale And Pace And The Stonkers - The Stonk

+10 Spitting Image - The Chicken Song

    +9 St. Winifred's School Choir - There's No-One Quite Like Grandma

    +8 Lionel Richie - Hello

+7 Glenn Medeiros - Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You

+6 Partners In Kryme - Turtle Power

+5 The Simpsons - Do The Bartman

+4 Mr Blobby - Mr Blobby

+3 Goombay Dance Band - Seven Tears (nope I'm still not hearing what's meant to be so bad about this even after specifically listening out for it)

+2 The Outhere Brothers - Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle)

+1 The Firm - Star Trekkin'

  6. Justice for Crazy Frog!!! (And Chico)

Yay for Spacedust indeed being saved though and the Gary Barlow song honestly sounded fairly pleasant with the revisit though it's another one I think I may have been harsher on during the listenthrough. 'Changes' is pretty dull but I don't find the vocals quite as unlistenable as some.

Well anyway, I got 3/5 of my 'intolerable' rated songs through so not too bad x (and may as well call it 3/4, or perhaps 2.5/4, since Eamon & Frankee serve the same purpose)

Speaking of revisiting songs I guess I'd better go do that for the heat 2 stuff ~

  7. Tom Odell's archived daily peak now matching his original weekly peak! Hooray for the continued climbs for 'Sweater Weather' and 'Bound 2' as well + a couple more great old songs lower down that I hadn't noticed resurfacing ('No Church In The Wild' + 'Where Is My Mind?' <3) and good to see Kordhell continuing to inch up + Zach Bryan re-entering (those two songs having near exact opposite vibes but loving both of them at the moment )

I noticed that JVKE and d4vd made Hot 100 debuts in back to back weeks, seems they may do the same here but the other way round. Good times for people going by common male names spelt slightly wrong.

  8. I don't think Tones And I should be on there - don't get me wrong, it would be my +25 (obviously), but I'm pretty sure there are more who like it on here than dislike it, and a lot of those who like it like it a lot, so it feels like a wasted inclusion that will inevitably finish quite near the bottom. I'd rather see it not included than it be an excuse for all of its supporters to reaffirm their support of it tbh :teresa: 'Payphone' needs to be kept though as I don't think that has the same level of supporters.

I still think 'Hallelujah' is worse than 'Start Without You' but on reflection I'm fine with that swap in the name of the latter being more likely to make the top 10.

Out of the suggested songs to add in 'Turn Up The Music' is the one I can get behind the most. So I'd say swap that with Tones and I'm broadly in agreement with the rest (trying to be objective, there are many more changes I'd make if I was basing it just on what I enjoy!)

edit: although actually I'd also vote to change the LadBaby song to 'I Love Sausage Rolls' but idk maybe the Ed/Elton one is more widely despised x

  9. 'Another Love' possibly nearing having an actual new daily Spotify peak - the daily positions from its original release don't seem to be archived but its weekly peak back then was #12.

If we're doing more liberal SCR resets, I'd definitely be here for 'Sweater Weather' to get one, gorgeous song and a real shame it didn't make the top 40 on its original release! (Same for 'Bound 2' for that matter, hope that might be on track for a top 100 re-entry this week even on ACR).

  10. Agree with the comments that Boyzone and Westlife are more guilty of a collective mehness than any one of their singles being uniquely bad so fair at them missing out (although Mariah/Westlife to be top 10 please xx).

I hope Spacedust are spared a top 10 place, I have actually had that stuck in my head quite a bit since giving part of it a brief relisten when voting in this  it's really quite fun. Same for Crazy Frog. x
