Well it's still one of the most popular songs on the album so it's clearly not that weird of a choice. (I don't see how it having spoken word elements should make it not single worthy?)

I just got to the Grand Master rank today too (impakt of celebrating 'Berghain' going top 40). Wonder how many people have achieved this now x

Tuning in to hear 'Iris' of all songs had me concerned about 'Berghain' but I see Jack did apparently already confirm that had entered... as long as he wasn't lying xx

I still need to do a second listen to finalise my votes but I think this contest has definitely provided my strongest top 10 in one of these to date - may just be that the previous theme choices weren't the most conducive to pandering to my taste (and this edition having the most entries to date helps) but I've easily got more than 10 songs I want to vote for here which I'm not sure has really been the case for any of the previous editions. I'm already holding my L and assuming I'll be coming last but it's ok, as long as it doesn't get 0 x

It's been pretty consistent throughout the week so not concerned about that. If anything it might help it slightly.

I swear if 'Berghain' ends up at #41 I will cry x Looks like we will have at minimum a whole top 5 of female solo artists in the albums this week and potentially as much as a top 7! (and unambiguously this time, of course last week was an all female solo top 6 if you count Florence + The Machine who may or may not have become a new Tame Impala)

It was more signed CDs that pushed her ahead of Charli, not the digital variants.

I did also change my country name for one contest to 'Land of Ostriches' because le epic funnie random xx At one point I planned to do a one off contest reverting my country name to Egabbac, I was going to send Ou Est Le Swimming Pool's 'Dance The Way I Feel' which felt like a throwback to that era, but I changed my mind and never ended up doing that (and mdh sent that song as a throwback instead coincidentally, turns out I missed out on a big hit with it). I don't think I would ever change my name again now, Persephonia still feels like a satisfying name to me x

I pinched my name from Tirren using the word 'Persephone' in a context I no longer remember. Was called Egabbac before (just 'cabbage' spelt backwards because le epic random funnie) that so I suppose there's a universe where I just stuck with that name forever xx
