Well congrats Rich then - was indeed a winner I voted for but only just as I swapped it into my 1 point slot after my relisten! (knocked out Cor Lupus with them swapping over in 10th/11th but I see that hasn't affected either of their positions x) I still think the similarity to 'Tattoo' was being a little overstated but I can hear it a bit in the production ~ Excellent to see my 12 pointer coming 2nd (and I guess it's good for the integrity of the theme that it lost out to a more poppy song lol - I think there is somewhat of a fundamental flaw in trying to host a pop-centric spinoff that it tends to be the less pop-leaning people who actually enter (and vote in!) spinoffs in general, but I digress x) and I also voted for all of 4th through 9th, pleasantly surprised at how high Kikka (RIP) and The Embassy finished! Oops at my prediction for Julie Bergan being way off and that actually ending up being one of the lowest finishing songs that I voted for, I thought that would have pretty strong cross appeal ah well, Addy has had plenty of success elsewhere recently to make up for it otherwise was only VIAN from my faves who mildly underperformed although I did think this was a bit more lowkey than their previous entry. Came in only 1 place lower than I did in the first Schlagerfest and avoiding the bottom 5, could be worse! It was a pretty rushed last minute replacement entry and although I do really like it myself I did think its appeal would probably be fairly limited. Now just waiting for the main contest result to see if it was worthwhile pulling Maustetytöt out of this Thanks for hosting Noche, nice to have a spinoff again for the first time in a while x (please if anyone ever has ideas / wants to host one do go ahead - I guess we're due for a Christmas spinoff this year to continue the usual alternating between that and Halloween but I'm sure we can squeeze another spinoff in some time in the mean time x)

Ooh opening the semi Looks like I'm in the poppier semi so a good test of me sending a poppier entry 👀 There is actually another version of my song that has a completely different more lo-fi instrumental that sounds more typical of a Persephonia entry but I'm sticking to the poppy version as I feel the vocals suit it better, plus it has a music video with iconic choreo x Also fun fact: Maustetytöt literally translates from Finnish as 'Spice Girls' Glad to see Skall sticking with 'Double Caper' this time after previously confirming it but switching, that Bubble Love album was a lot of fun and this was one of the best tracks on it. I think the only other songs I've heard are a couple that were previously in PJSC as per usual. Neat to see Water From Your Eyes making an appearance though as I've considered sending them in the past, and I suppose I should be happy at finally getting my wish of Nuovo Testamento appearing in a main contest even if it didn't happen until after they came 2nd in two other contests on the site making this one of the more uninspired choices of the month in the end so we'll see if they're fast tracking themselves to shadowban territory xx

I don't think there's likely to be any more vetoes, the person who tried to send Perrie used up all the cheapness for the month we've all been quite inspired otherwise bar two or three somewhat cheap artist choices. (Who will, per recent tradition, immediately all be hailed as the winner contenders to my annoyance!) I'm just finishing the veto research for the last batch of entries now.

Oh yay 'Breakin' Dishes' finally getting an overdue reset and chart position - funnily enough debuting in the same position as Coldplay's 'Sparks' when it did likewise. (And lol at her actually releasing a new song this year but it's instead an album track from 2007 giving her a new top 40 hit - I thought 'Friend Of Mine' was overhated but 'Breakin' Dishes' is certainly better, an bop x)

The song titles on that Sabrina album really do not give me much hope that she's dialling back the cringe any time soon. (Having said that I heard about half of 'Tears' this morning - the first thing I heard when I turned the radio on because it's impossible to avoid her on Radio 1 - and I think it sounded decent? Although I'm conscious that I said the same thing about 'Manchild' on first listen and that ended up getting very irritating very fast so let's wait to see how I feel after having to hear 'Tears' 100 times as well x)
