'Manchild' is the only one I really don't like although I do find 'Rein Me In' pretty tedious as well, beyond his debut Sam Fender seems to only really be connecting with me with one song per era and that song this time was 'Little Bit Closer'.

Pleased to see you rating 'A Forest' so highly, it's definitely my favourite across all the weeks so far and will take some beating x Although starting to diverge a little more on some of your low rated songs as I've playlisted both Saxon and Cockney Rejects! (The latter I get the dislike for but I thought it was fun, I seemed to be on my own in enjoying the Saxon song though and not so sure why on that one, nothing particularly innovative but as far as classic metal hits go I thought it was a pretty good one, certainly better than the recent Iron Maiden and AC/DC offerings). Also I don't think I had heard this Kate Bush song before and unfortunately found it to be going over my head a little on first listen - might have to give it a second chance some time as I do usually like her and I see this seems to be quite a highly regarded song so not sure what wasn't clicking for me.

It was only #13 on NMF, don't think that would boost it that much.

Actually thought the Kendrick collab from the Clipse album might do pretty well as it's been somewhat of a point of discussion online for a few weeks already, but I guess Clipse are just not that big of a draw in the UK even with Kendrick's name power attached. Doing ok on Apple at least. (meanwhile Drake's 'What Did I Miss?' is back up to its peak of #20 today lol - I guess that's the impact of Wireless Festival) Wow at Deftones charting! Will probably only be for one day I guess but they didn't even manage that (in any country, not only the UK) during their last era, according to Kworb their only previous appearance in any Spotify chart was one song charting for a day around #150 in Poland and Portugal in 2016. Further signs of heavier rock music making a very slight comeback to the mainstream I guess.

It's not her, the songwriting credits bill it to a 'Raye Barror', Googling that name is bringing up an Irish singer which would make sense (although she appears to usually go by the name Rachel if that is the same person). Need to get on that Erika album. Sad at Séyetana not making it either but happy with Yehesi going DTF and Aesthetica making AC (+ gwan Hendinia doing it for the mods xo). 'Dior' is nothing particularly special but it's definitely the best of the songs in with a shout for #1 this week imo and MK is long overdue a credited #1 so I'm rooting for him x (would be the first time since Michael Ball that an artist who made their chart debut before I was born gets a first #1 lol - who knows if that'll ever happen again... I guess Brenda Lee could plausibly eventually get #1)

And the last song to make it through to Andra Chansen from this semi-final is... Pestolia: Jae Stephens - Body Favors Pestolia throwing it back to the artist of their first ever main contest entry pays off! But it's an unfortunate near miss for: 6th (44 points) Mothertopia: Say She She - Cut & Rewind 5th place got 46 points (and 2nd place was only on 56 points so tight margins all around these qualifiers). ~ My rankings of the DNQs from this semi: 1st Elëdan 4th Mothertopia 7th Flynnonda 9th Summericia 10th Ben's Sanctuary 11th New Lexico Was a bit of a shame to see Say She She falling just short as I did think they were making it as I was adding up but alas! Unfortunately back to the bad news for a moment, we also say goodbye to... 7th (42 points) Elëdan: sineila - X-8 </3 would have got 12 points from me if I could vote here so I'm 0 for 2 on my faves making it now x (this one did unsurprisingly get almost all of its points from medal positions - a 12, a 10 and 2 8s - but that wasn't quite enough). That leaves Mothertopia vs. Pestolia vs. Scotland 2 - one gets the other Direkt Til Finalen ticket, one gets the last Andra Chansen slot and the other misses out on advancing by an agonising 2 points #spoilers...
