This was comfortably my least favourite semi oop - rooting for Bøtanikkä & Neliönoir and beyond that I'm not that bothered (so hopefully Rich is on the money). I'm gonna assume I was doomed from the moment the draw happened as I'm not sure I see more than like 2 people from this lot voting for me at all so I hope some of my niche fans from the other semis have checked it out too xx (Think I would rank the semis 3 > 1 > 2 > 4 - originally posted this with 1 ahead but then realised I forgot about one song in it which tanks it a bit, 1 and 3 both have both big highs and big lows though)

Why did The Monkees EP get skipped in the listenthrough? Intrigued to see your thoughts on the batch from today since you weren't on SyncTube this time! My opinions aren't wildly different to yours on many songs so far - I'm treating the cutoff for inclusion in my Spotify playlist as anything I'd rate 7.5/10 or higher, and so far only 1 of the songs you've rated 8 or higher hasn't made that for me ('So Lonely' - technically 3 as I only included the first A-Side for 'Going Underground' and 'King'), while I've only playlisted 2 songs that you've rated lower than 5 (both 4s - 'Warhead' and 'Working My Way Back To You / Forgive Me, Girl').

Another excellent song choice for CHVRCHES, hope that will keep them in with a chance of making the final!

Blondie - Call Me The Cure - A Forest Gary Numan - We Are Glass Lipps Inc. - Funkytown Sky - Toccata All songs I knew already this week (although 'We Are Glass' and 'Toccata' I only knew due to discovering them from previous SyncTube sessions). 'A Forest' will be up there with my absolute faves of the entire decade. Jona Lewie just missing out, and my top discoveries of the week are Madness, New Musik and Elvis Costello & The Attractions.

Shame to lose a-ha, admittedly was not their best song in this round but their participation here made for some cool discoveries. And 'Army' did not deserve to be the song to kick Ellie out aw x Have to say I'm pretty shocked that 'One' avoided the bottom 3 but fair enough! 'Bitter End' did better than I expected too (which I am happy about obvz x). I didn't actually recognise 'Don't Tell Me' from the title but the chorus was coming back to me when I listened to it so I guess I have heard it before but not for ages, Avril seems to be crushing it a bit here.

Daithí was also perhaps more notably in Must Be The Music, the short lived show that gave us a couple of very forgettable UK top 10 hits from Pepper & Piano and Emma's Imagination (Daithí himself got a #67 hit from the show). And ofc Saara Aalto was on the UK X Factor too. I genuinely half considered sending a Jedward song here ('Luminous') but then remembered they've been sent to BJSC before x There are a few songs I already know here (that's a nice pick for Diana Vickers there) but still more new to me than not.
