I don't think he was ever in the race to begin with tbf, the first day numbers were not really suggesting it being competitive for #1 even if it did hold up well. I expect he'll be more in contention with his next proper album (especially if it is 'The Fall Off' that he's been hyping for 6 years), this release feels like it was just a rushed throwaway to try and capitalise on the Kendrick beef which has clearly fallen a bit flat.
Guessing it'll be The Libertines for #1 but it'd be naïve to write off the latest random 'The [x]' band of the week that WhoOdyssey claims are in contention xx

New entries so far on Apple Music:
27. J. Cole & Bas - H.Y.B. (feat. Central Cee)
30. J. Cole - 7 Minute Drill
37. J. Cole & Ari Lennox - Pricey (feat. Young Dro & Gucci Mane)
45. J. Cole - Crocodile Tearz
54. J. Cole - Ready ‘24 (feat. Cam’ron)
60. J. Cole - Huntin’ Wabbitz
69. J. Cole - Fever
74. J. Cole - Stickz N Stonez
91. J. Cole - Pi (feat. Daylyt & Ab-Soul)
Hozier is now up to #5, Artemas up to #12.
Context: '7 Minute Drill' is actually the last song on the mixtape but not surprised it's already one of the highest as it has been the most heavily discussed off the bat with it being a response to the Kendrick verse on 'Like That'. Actually thought it might be the highest song but I guess the Central Cee collab being higher in the UK makes sense. It is the highest song from the mixtape on US Apple Music although still #2 behind 'Like That' overall for now.
(the Central Cee collab is track 5, the rest of the songs are appearing in tracklist order)

Nur Jaber is billed as the lead artist on 'Fall To Pieces' on most platforms (and on the cover art of the EP it's part of), I'm not sure why the credits are flipped over on Spotify. iTunes actually has it both ways with the EP as a whole billing Luca first as well but the individual songs having Nur first. It has always been like that so not a recent switch!

Castle Cat :cheeseblock:
I didn't realise that I'd never given you a gold medal before so hooray for that finally happening now! Was thinking you must be the country I'd given the most points without giving a gold but just checked and I've never given one to Bøtanikkä either (although you overtook them in my all time points given list with this month's 18, should really post a full update of that again some day x).
-
Me turning out to be the only one of a three way tiebreak to not make the final oops! (and I shot myself in the foot with both my 12 and my 8 but I'm fine to have missed out in their favour x FLJ was 11th in the semi for me as well so not the worst thing that could have kept me out)
Dog Race coming so close to DNQing as well :drama: better taste found in the final!

I looked up the result as soon as the last points were posted not realising you'd proceed to drag the result out for a further 75 minutes ddd
No first time winner in the end then and a winning song that I thought was just decent (though it wasn't in my bottom 10 at least, ranked it 30th x) but hey ho, congrats to Phil for a third win, a mere 62 contest wait this time compared to the 73 contest wait between your first 2 :D
I do need to be a responsible adult and sleep soon but I'll probably comment on the rest of the scoreboard tomorrow unless I forget x
Can confirm the points and positions all match mine (had plenty of time to check that during the reveal x) so nothing to double check but just to have a text version w/ tiebreaks:

A very good chance we're getting another first time winner then with POPHub having a pretty cosy lead and Dobago still remaining potentially in the mix too. I wasn't sure I saw the winner vibes in 'I Dated A Monster' but looks like I stand corrected x (would be a decent enough winner).
Impakt of #catbloc tbh

Being on the sidelines I shall just hope for something I voted for to win again x (I want to say that feels fairly likely this time but we'll see ~)
Maybe not if the current scoreboard is anything to go by :teresa: but still early days x (and the trio of good songs that I also expected to be contenders - Kathaldazia / Dobago / Hendinia - are all not exactly miles off pace, good to see Cumulonimbia off to a good start as well).
I would have said just a couple of days ago that I'm a bit mystified at RONDÉ being a pop fave but it did finally click with me a bit more on my last relisten, I think I might actually remember how it goes this time which is more than can be said for their two previous entries.

Ah, I didn't realise it came out that long ago, I guess that would make sense then if it had just previously been racking up sales without appearing in the chart. I find it hard to believe its sudden appearance in the chart was due to a genuine increase in consumption though, I think it must have just not had its numbers calculated correctly before that for some reason. I remember that happened with 'Baby Shark' too, its YouTube views didn't count to its chart sales for a few weeks.
-
I understand why they excluded the Christmas songs especially for the original broadcast but I do wish they would publish a version that included them as well, or at the very least made some explicit mention in the article that they are excluded rather than just silently leaving them out.
Toto's Africa is always a bit of a confusing one for me. Why so popular now?Because people have taste :magic:
(I don't know if there's any specific reason why or if it's just 'because the Internet' but it's become a bit of a meme song, I remember it was a weirdly big deal when Weezer covered it months after a request from a random Twitter user).

The positions for these are official right? Following from my post in the certifications thread it's odd that the CoComelon album doesn't appear here, I'm guessing it must have had units that were counting towards its certification but not to the weekly or YTD charts up until about a month ago for some reason?
