  1. Dobbo bringing the vibes (heading out now so will catch up properly with the rest later)
  2. Excellent pick there hlavkus - rightfully looking on course to be a bigger hit here than your previous couple of entries to this.
  3. That Femcels thing was certainly a choice x (😮)
  4. Rollo with the longest song shocker I posted in the voting thread that the Delphic song would be a good throwback but when I heard it I realised I don't think I've actually ever heard it before whoops, I think I was just remembering the album of the same name (which I do know several other songs from). It was a very good discovery though so my hype was not for nothing!
  5. 'Forever salty' another major banger *.* (bassvictim also getting the chance for some redemption after an undeserved BJSC flop x)
  6. Well this is another anon contest entry from Nine that I'm more of a fan of than the Ennea BJSC entries so far Storken smashing so far we love to see
  7. Light mode master race
  8. Addy sending the Albanian song shocker xx
  9. Teas of my only veto being because of Run The Jewels having an album that charted at #50 in the USA x (although they did have more success later tbf xo)
  10. I didn't immediately remember 'Missy Queen's Gonna Die' from the title but it came back to me very quickly when I listened to it again - for a song that (with some prompting) I still remembered so well and quite fondly I was surprised to look back and see I didn't rank it in my top 10 of its semi-final in BJSC oops! Glad it gets a second chance here (not that it's going any better so far...)
  11. One really weird and annoying example is Camden Cox's 'Gold' - she released a song of that name in 2017 (which was a runner-up in BJSC) and then another completely unrelated song with the same name in 2023 but the 2017 one is no longer available on streaming services! (Although it is still on YouTube). When she was promoting the 2023 song there was iirc no acknowledgement whatsoever that she already had a song with that title. Also another one I just remembered is Lil Baby having unrelated songs called 'Forever' on 2 consecutive albums (one featuring Lil Wayne in 2020 and one featuring Fridayy in 2022).
  12. Oh we have started early! I'm awake today so I'm here to follow live (although I will be going out at 7:30 so I might have to catch up on the ending depending on how quickly we go through this) I did think Medio Mutante was very Jade coded so no shocks there - an banger x Sneaky that it turns out it was you sending them here as well!

Well he has tried to do that with 'Gone Gone Gone' and it didn't really work... (Mind for a David Guetta song it's not particularly dancey)
  14. TheSnake moment
  15. By the same token The 1975 have 5 different songs called 'The 1975' (the first track on each of their albums).
  16. Very pleased Visage have made it into the top 10 (honestly I might have predicted it'd be a little higher than that!) <3 and 'Family Affair' is an absolute banger too so the top 10 is off to a flying start. Much prefer 'Rent' to 'Suburbia' myself out of the PSB songs.
  17. Keep it

'Lose Control' is a blight but I did actually like both 'The Door' and 'Bad Dreams'. Can't say I'm exactly eagerly anticipating new material from him but we'll see if he can pull off another good tune x
  19. Yay for Searows being through obviously, thanks semi 1 voters - although I am moderately miffed at getting a post that it was a surprising qualifier (and that it got a DNQ prediction) as I kinda think it's one of the safest songs I've sent for a while? Oop x Only lost 1 of my votes: 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 Q 4 Pagasa 3 Q 2 Q 1 Q 13th Aelandor 15th Yehesi 17th Wholune 20th Zanmatony 21st Ben's Sanctuary 26th Ennea 27th Taahino 28th Lotunia I suppose it's at least good that this wasn't another #pagasamoment of them denying themselves a qualifier due to the deduction, I did think this one would probably struggle to qualify regardless but I bumped it up a few points after my second listenthrough. Though I can never unhear that it kind of sounds like Owl City singing to the melody of the first verse of Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things'. A shame that Wholune did kick themselves out by not voting though oops, that would have been a fun one to hear again in the final. Likewise Aelandor, a pretty unique entry that would have been nice to hear again (very different vibe to Wholune's ofc). Sorry to Ennea, I've really liked a lot of your entries to the other song contests so far but have not been that sold on any of your main BJSC entries as of yet - manifesting 4th time lucky for both a qualifier and a song I can get more behind xx From those that did qualify, glad that the not-the-best reaction to Cheiron on SyncTube wasn't foretelling a surprise DNQ after all and thrilled to see Deandria indeed finally getting their 3 in a row, I did think they should this time! Yay for Pestolia and Scotland 2 making it as well, the latter back on form for me after not being crazy about their last couple of entries but I wasn't super confident this one would make it. I again haven't yet got around to doing a second listen of semi 2 to finalise my ranking for that so will edit it into this post when I do it for posterity but from my first impressions ranking I've lost 2 of my top 10 - my biggest loss of the month is unsurprisingly Abeltesfayeton (currently ranked 4th for me), just as good as the Nujabes song I considered sending myself before so still happy he has made an appearance in the contest even if not getting the appreciation he deserves. And then also lost Dobago who I currently have ranked 9th, I think that's currently working out to be one of the best of the dance songs in semi 2 for me (and was one of those songs I got into more and more as it went along) so that sucks! Disappointed for Hushkanukia as well, also in my top half of the semi and one of the better of the dance songs, quite a swerve to hear this kind of song coming from Cameron so boo at the voters not rewarding it. Zephyra Continuum was a way off my top 10 of the semi unfortunately but oof at it only getting 1 vote, afro house really seems to be quietly the most cursed subgenre here x But again to be on a more positive note, yassss for Dalisska and Jadakissnia making it as well as of course Fljótavík 🐐 as I posted in the final thread that is an incredible run of songs to close out the final, I think all 3 will definitely be in contention to be taking all of my podium spots... 'Mum Does The Washing' being the closing song does feel serendipitous from the randomiser (assuming it was indeed random x), what a moment to end on *.* also brill for Greenfroze and Trifoski, a little surprised the former got some DNQ predictions as I could actually see it doing quite well in the final, but the latter I was not confident in so hooray ~ Will try to not take forever to drop the new Q streak post (although I haven't yet started updating my spreadsheet for this month again ) but also well done to Freidland and Lentyll getting back-to-back qualifiers for the first time x (and a new record for The Spodic Empire now surpassing their opening run of 5 qualifiers too). And thanks to John for the hosting, looks like it went smoothly, apols that I was too nocturnal to follow along live again!
  20. This may genuinely be the best run of 3 tracks to close a BJSC final ever (have just been nocturnally catching up on the results now hehe) Sneakily edited x (also edited in a plain link for the YouTube playlist embed again - idk if it's just me but YouTube seems to have changed the way it displays the embeds, the link to the playlist on YouTube is still there in the bottom left as I've just discovered the other day but it's not exactly intuitive)
  21. Definitely a bit of a surprise to see Mis-Teeq beating out the likes of Christina and Avril for a podium position here but I am here for it *.* though the latter two are both very good too (I'm not that big on Christina's discog as a whole but it got off to a very strong start!) Going to go a bit against the grain of some of the posts in the thread and say 'Get The Party Started' is still one of P!nk's best songs, it's maybe the song from this tracklist that I remember most clearly bopping to as a kid. (Though it will forever slightly irk me that the title is not 'Get This Party Started' despite that clearly being what she says). So the top 2 is now my 11 vs. one I gave a 5 lol. Should have tactically given an even lower score anyway to t.A.T.u. just to minimise the chance of them winning I fear (although I wonder if, should it win, this would be a second rate in quick succession where I gave the winner its lowest score following 'Girl, so confusing' in the BRAT rate hehe)

Kanye did miss an entire day of streams - I expect he will be top 10 by the end of the week but maybe not top 5? As expected RAYE #1 very comfortably, she was bound to sell well physically and of course has done much better on streaming than she did with her debut as well. Looks like Charlie Puth is indeed not even top 40 x
  24. Ooh good to see Malcolm Todd's 'Earrings' debuting at #171 - he's had a few songs that have charted in the US in the last couple of months and this is my favourite of those! The top 2 Kanye songs have both actually climbed 1 place today but the rest have fallen.
