Honestly there are a lot of songs in this thread that I barely even remember anyone attempting. But I'm sure they all made sense to at least some extent to veto at the time x If this wasn't clear it's because there was some internal dispute over whether or not sending the singer from MisterWives should count as getting the veto points for their past entries as a group.

Luckily it's a mission I've already completed although am hoarding until I eventually find enough time and motivation to finally finish revamping the Songs of BJSC thread x (clicky if you want to peruse - I plan to convert these to Google Sheets to be linked in said mythical Songs of thread revamp "eventually" but for now they're stuck in the archaic old Excel file format, that file contains all the available voting data in the contest's history though, plus some that is no longer viewable on the actual forum due to link rot but that I saved before it went offline, sadly some of the semi spreadsheets before BJSC 41 were either never posted or were already inaccessible by the time I started archiving) ((the reason I have still not posted this is largely because I'm in the painfully slow process of updating old artist/song tags, have been doing that on and mostly off for a few years at this point but I'll complete it eventually))

Just for funziez, pending the two reconfirmations, these are the song lengths in this contest (anonymised of course, but spot yourself). All taken from Spotify, except for one song which isn't on there (but it is on Apple Music so Pavita/Jacob/Juranamo and maybe some others get special treatment this month). There were only two songs above the 6 minute mark in the last contest so we do have a pretty notable uptick to (at least) 9 this month! But only the one behemoth at the top is longer than last month's longest, and only the top two are longer than last month's second longest. I'm quite behind on the discourse but I do hope Jonjo will still participate, would be a shame to pull out completely rather than just maybe having to skip through one song possibly two if 14 and a half minutes still counts as excessively long. (Your decision of course though x)

Eh I wouldn't consider him taking a good song and just releasing a cover with basically nothing changed (except for it being sung by his considerably more grating voice) as counting as a good song from him. Better than most of his originals though I guess.

Three very different levels of 'hit' there...! I want to be happy for Tame Impala getting another hit but 'Loser' is probably my least favourite song I've ever heard from him oops (I thought the middling to negative reaction to the other singles from this album was a bit overblown - I still love 'Dracula' now - but I understand it for that song).

He's still cringe even when he is being 'serious'. Something about his songwriting just really rubs me the wrong way. (I'm still generally not a fan of most country music though so I'm not the target audience x)

It's 2 more than I would have said a couple of years back x ('Ain't No Love In Oklahoma' is a lowkey jam and I think there was one other song since then I quite liked as well but most of his output is very cringeworthy)

I'm not getting my hopes up for it to go to ACR until we actually get partway through a 3rd decline week and it's still declining. It's probably been about 4? times now that it's been on what would be its 3rd decline but then manages to gain again for some reason or other (at least there is a reasonable explanation for it doing so this week!)

Unless it dramatically crashes later in the week it definitely will increase, there's no need to be "I think" about it x

The endless run at #1 would be slightly less aggravating if it weren't for the fact it didn't even start until the song had already spent an absurdly long time in the chart. I do quite like a good few of Sam Fender's songs so it's really annoying that I can't get behind any of his big hits ('Seventeen Going Under' is still the best of his top 10 hits for me and I always found that thoroughly overrated and got really, really bored of it hanging around in the charts so long - little did I know what was to come with an even less impressive song...)

It was up 118% from Friday to Friday and 64% from Saturday to Saturday, it'll be fine. (are we still not used to the fact that nearly all album releases have big drops on the second day x)

RontBet don't seem to have the same magic touch outside the confines of the BJSC forum (have to say I wouldn't have predicted either of them to win myself although perhaps a little surprising neither of them were even top 10)

Glad that you were able to see through the hosting in the end AllStar but don't worry about the delays. (I managed to avoid seeing whatever the slip-up was as well despite following the thread relatively closely x)

Congrats Dan, not close at all in the end! I gave 7 points to Machinedrum but Commander Tom was only just behind on 6 points so not upset at that blocking it. Great to see 2 of my top 3 squeezing into the top 10, well done Henessy on a strong first result here and Nine also just about hanging on in there. Gave 1 point to Absolom as well so half of the top 10 were in my votes, not bad. Boooo at my 12 pointer finishing in the bottom 3 though (was thinking it felt familiar me giving 12 points to a Pavi entry that gets barely any points from anyone else and indeed the same thing happened 2 contests ago with Nazar - y'all need to develop more taste xx). Oop at me getting 0 further points after Pavi's votes and slumping down to the bottom of the top 20 - I guess that's more in line with what I initially expected but a bit disappointing after some initial false hope x (still beat Kuedo from the first Instrumentals edition by 1 point though so technically partially achieved that aim, but it is a lower position both absolutely and relatively). Forgot to mention it in my commentary but this entry is actually even from the same label as Kuedo (Planet Mu) which was a neat coincidence. Wish I could have squeezed Jlin into my votes as that definitely doesn't deserve last place! (although neither would μ-Ziq to be fair, those were literally the two songs just outside my votes) Thanks for the hosting AllStar <3 another very strong edition x

From what little I have gleamed so far about Henessy Lake's taste that seems like quite a surprisingly leftfield pick! (Banger though) Good tune from Addy as well to round us out. Would think Addy would be a fan of Commander Tom so maybe a blowout win still incoming x
