The 184 - Odds & Predictions
I prefer Rich's list of winner contenders x

The 184
I'm enjoying the mini trend from the last two contests of the final song in the running order having quite off kilter lyrics. Not sure Richard Dawson will quite capture the zeitgeist like Joshua did but we can dream x

Friday Chart Predictions
Looks like Noah's album might do more on streaming units alone than Foo Fighters do in total! 'Billie Jean' already back in the top 40 without a reset (right?) - coming to get a top 10 re-entry for a second year in a row following 'Thriller' last year?

The 184
Will do the listenthrough for this tomorrow unless any major objections >Final YouTube Playlist< (as before the full version of Skall's entry is not on YouTube, edit version is included above but listen on Bandcamp for the intended experience)

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 24/04/26
It would be the label's decision, not the OCC's.

Friday Chart Predictions
It happened almost exactly 3 years ago with Enter Shikari + The 1975's Record Store Day live album (Taylor Swift's RSD release also went 4-out the same week, Everything But The Girl going 3-63 preventing it from being the entire top 4 dropping straight out of the top 100).

Friday Chart Predictions
The midweek updates are sometimes a bit weird with the allocation of streams to compilations, I would expect streams will all go to the soundtrack (and original studio albums) only by the end of the week. Unless there are a significant number of big hits from him that are not on the soundtrack but are on one of the other compilations? I did think Noah was more likely to get #1 than the Foos but wouldn't have predicted the gap to be quite that big! 'Baby Steps' only falling a couple of spots further supporting that it has not sold much on vinyl - perhaps it was just not very far behind 'Nice To Each Other' anyway (in which case actually it might hold on).

Friday Chart Predictions
It's only songs that are more than 3 years old that can be on ACR without charting. Presumably 'Baby Steps' just hasn't sold that much on vinyl.

The UK Top 40 singles of the 1980s: listening sessions + polls: next session 17 May
Blancmange - Waves Kissing The Pink - The Last Film Michael Jackson - Beat It New Order - Blue Monday Ultravox - Visions In Blue 2 great discoveries there from Kissing The Pink and Ultravox, the Blancmange song was introduced to me by Jade a few years back, and ofc the other two are all time classics. Next best songs I already knew were David Bowie and JoBoxers and other good discoveries included Big Country and Malcolm McLaren. Not the best week overall but a strong top 5 as ever x (4/5 matching with both Chez/Jade and Rollo! Sorry to be the first to not vote for Bonnie Tyler but I have never had particularly strong feelings about that song)

UK Singles Chart new entry of the week | 2026 Week 17
Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner. Back on schedule with a single week poll this week, hooray. And perhaps it was for the best that the last two weeks were together as neither of them were especially interesting on their own. Week 15's poll especially saw a very strong performance for 'none of the above', picking up 11 votes, more than all but one of the actual songs on offer - although the winner of the week was by a surprisingly comfortable margin in the end. American country star Ella Langley only got 8 votes when she debuted with her breakout hit 'Choosin' Texas' earlier in the year but perhaps now she's a slightly more familiar name her next hit 'Be Her' (the second official single and third track to be released ahead of her second studio album 'Dandelion') has done better, winning with 18 votes. Its closest competition excluding 'none of the above' was a tie on 8 votes apiece for James Hype and LONOWN/riserayss. Four songs managed double figure votes from week 16, including Ella Langley again although her album track 'Bottom Of Your Boots' settled for 4th place in that vote. The winner there was US-based multinational (American/Filipino/Korean/Swiss) girlgroup KATSEYE with 'PINKY UP', their second hit of the year and first track released from forthcoming EP 'WILD'. That managed 20 votes, ahead of Teddy Swims on 15 votes. It's surely a sign of the end times that the pineapple himself managed to get more votes than a new Lady Gaga single which settled for 3rd place. On the other end, there was another contender for a 0-voter saved by just a single fan, Dobbo being the one to answer for Chris Brown not joining the goose egg club. Full week 15 results: 1 18/45 Ella Langley - Be Her (#90) [11/45 none of the above] 2 8/45 James Hype - Be Mine (#75) 2 8/45 LONOWN and riserayss - worry (#97) 4 5/45 STELLA LEFTY - Boston (#91) 5 4/45 DaBaby - POP DAT THANG (#98) 6 3/45 BTS - 2.0 (#94) Full week 16 results: 1 20/45 KATSEYE - PINKY UP (#14) 2 15/45 Teddy Swims - Mr. Know It All (#54) 3 14/45 Lady Gaga and Doechii - RUNWAY (#32) 4 12/45 Ella Langley - Bottom Of Your Boots (#77) 5 7/45 Cameron Whitcomb - Kingdom Of Fear (#93) 6 5/45 Myles Smith - My Mess (#58) [5/45 none of the above] 7 4/45 F3miii - NOBLE (#81) 8 1/45 Chris Brown - Obvious (#87) This week's contenders: Olivia Rodrigo - drop dead (#1) sombr - Potential (#31) Tyla - SHE DID IT AGAIN (feat. Zara Larsson) (#40) Sabrina Carpenter - Sugar Talking (#65) Lewis Capaldi - Stay Love (#68) Lana Del Rey - First Light (#70) KATSEYE - Touch (#88) Madonna - I Feel So Free (#90) Three artists who have won a poll already this year have contenders again this week, as a Record Store Day sales boost sees a belated debut for an older KATSEYE single (from before they became consumed by brainrot) to put them in contention for a second win in a row while sombr and Zara Larsson also have another crack at it. Of course they'd all have to get past the new #1 of the week, Olivia Rodrigo having been a consistent strong performer in these polls in their first incarnation. Plus further forum faves Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rey and Madonna making this a very strong selection on paper. Lewis Capaldi is here also. Hall of Fame: Week 1: Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [29/49] Week 2: Fleetwood Mac - Landslide [27/48] Week 3: Bruno Mars - I Just Might [26/44] Week 4: Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over [23/43] Week 5: Harry Styles - Aperture [30/46] Week 6: Noah Kahan - The Great Divide [21/44] Week 7: sombr - Homewrecker [31/43] Week 8: Charli xcx - Dying For You [23/43] Week 9: twenty one pilots - Drag Path [20/40] Week 10: Gorillaz - Orange County (feat. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar) [16/40] Week 11: Harry Styles - American Girls [20/34] Week 12: beabadoobee - All I Did Was Dream Of You (feat. The Marías) [22/41] Week 13: RAYE - Click Clack Symphony. (feat. Hans Zimmer) [28/43] Week 14: RAYE - I Know You're Hurting. [20/43] Week 15: Ella Langley - Be Her [18/45] Week 16: KATSEYE - PINKY UP [20/45]

Buzzjack Reshuffle Chart #879
55 points between the top 2 (sorry I've dipped out of voting again, let me get back to it again this week xox)

The 184 - Odds & Predictions
I didn't change my member title to 750/1 for nothing x We all must open our hearts to 5 minutes of unchanging vocal-less electronic beats
-
The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Had to dig a bit as I could not remember when it was but I knew there was one contest where Daehun's votes were almost entirely wiped out - it was in BJSC 70, they lost 9/10 of their votes, only their 5 pointer qualifying! (mind this was just before the expansion to 20 Qs per semi)
-
The 184
Jadakissnia separating Bladee from the Bladee-alike
-
The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Agreed with this btw - I actually sent her to the final (pre-forum migration) edition of the PopJustice Song Contest with 'iNSOMNiAC' and she came top 10 there for me, unfortunately am not feeling 'STARLET' nearly as much as that!

The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Last 2 qualifiers both going the way I wanted, yay x Bladee imitator joining the real Bladee in the final *.* New Lexico's entry feels like it was designed in a lab to be ragebait to me (as the site's #1 Sabrina Carpenter hater etc.) but I wouldn't have actually predicted it to DNQ! From my votes/ranking: 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 Q 4 N DNTN 3 Herbilore 2 Q 1 Q 11th Cumulonimbia 12th FARC 17th Ajanaeda 20th Jupiterdonia 22nd POPHub 24th Greenfroze 28th New Lexico The top 4 there I think would all have had a chance of getting points from me in the final as I thought this was the stronger semi but all of them were a fair way off the qualifying mark so couldn't have helped them more I suppose. Having said that, from my first listen ranking my entire top 15 of semi 2 have made it (!) so that might well have dampened the hopes of Cumulonimbia & FARC to make it into my final votes. Will drop my ranking for the DNQs for posterity when I've done a 2nd listen again (oop I keep not managing to fit these in before semi results lately) but at the moment my highest ranked DNQ was Harmonica in 16th. edit with finalised ranking of semi 2 DNQs: 15th Harmonica 17th Lotunia 21st Cheiron 22nd Zanmatony 23rd Taahino 25th FSR Rontvia 26th Summericia 27th Mothertopia 28th Lookylion Thanks for the speedy reveal Phil x

The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
They were announced through in the same post!

The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Deandria & Dalisska <3 Definitely rooting for Land of DW and Pestolia from these last pairs, although Harmonica's was decent too.
-
The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
3 qualifiers in a row for East Rukahavian, although will they avoid last place in the final this time... (glad that they are through as I thought this might be one that gets a lot of low points but not many higher ones). Great for Skall & Freidland too (and Jadakissnia although feeling this might be a rare entry from them that doesn't get points from us - though historically that correlates well with them winning xx). bassvictim was my 4 pointer grr, have really enjoyed all of their song contest entries but those translating to 2 BJSC DNQs and a bottom 10 in Club Bizarre, not sure what about their music is repeatedly not connecting.
-
The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Aww no Cumulonimbia were another one that only just missed out on my points (they were one of the ones I said I expected might grow on me more) - hope they weren't toooo close...
-
The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
FARC only just missed out on points from me D: Scotland 2 though Bladee a two time BJSC finalist we love to see

The 184 - Visa Acceptance and Rejection
Yay for Kath - actually wasn't too sure they'd be through this time for similar reasons to me worrying about my own entry x Trifoski as well <3 (these results are going too quickly for me to post without having to immediately edit every time lol)
