59 - no entries from Harmonica and Macromia from last contest (Abeltesfayeton are the only returning nation). No AQ for Hendinia but spoilers: they won't need it, obviously. x

I'm just finishing off the veto research for the last few entries anyway and your new song won't be any bother so fine for you to keep the new one if you want x I did used to but I don't really go searching for unknown songs too often these days so it's rare for me to have more than 1 or 2 potentials in mind at any time oop x (I have still got my glitchy techno instrumental that I originally confirmed a while back before switching to AKRIILA as well so that's my next backup for if there's another contest I can't find anything new for )

I didn't recall that Stacie Orrico song, I am sure I probably have heard it at least once before but wasn't sounding familiar - it was a very good (re-?)discovery from this though, the second song to drop out so far that I gave a score higher than 7 (after Holly Valance).

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
It may just be bias because it's the version I know better but I prefer the Bananarama version of 'Venus' and it's not particularly close - I honestly feel like it suits sounding like a cheap pop bop more than the more 'serious' sound of the Shocking Blue version. Glad Kelly is out early, that's some real millennialcore slop x

Looking like a pretty muted showing for BTS after all of the hype really, will see if they do any better on Spotify I guess.

Well I feel like I can relate to dandy* a bit now as I spent the best part of the last 2 hours trying to find a new song to send and just finding nothing that was resonating with me at all - a cautionary tale against leaving it this late to start looking! (as it were I've just fallen back on a song that I wanted to send but initially was reluctant to as I think a few too many people might already know it for my liking - but I don't think it's that well-known so will hopefully be a good discovery to a few of you and tbh it's probably one of the best songs of 2025 for me so)

RESULTS: Pop Princesses (2004) • The Rate
Quite surprised at how high 'Misfit' is here (definitely would not have expected it to be ahead of the last two songs in particular) - was an ok song but I don't think it's particularly memorable! Maybe it's just down to me not paying attention to the lyrics as per given replies about both songs but I am surprised at how (relatively) middling the reception is for both JLo and Sugababes (pun not intended for the latter x). Both got a 7 from me but I thought they'd have been more popular here.

Dance Track of the Week 2026: Week 11
1 John Summit 2 Chase & Status 3 Kungs 4 Kenya Grace 5 Chris Lorenzo 6 Martin Garrix 7 KSHMR 8 Topic Very good week, lots of bangers on offer. That John Summit song is going to be stuck in my head all day tomorrow I fear x The Martin Garrix song was pretty nice and KSHMR was solid too, Topic was the only one I wasn't really feeling at all from this list. What song is the drop in the Kungs track sampling / sounding very similar to? I cannot place it for some reason. (I did try Googling and I see the vocals are a sample of a Shannon song but that's definitely not what I'm thinking of).

Indie/Rock/Alt Track of the Week 2026: Week 11
1 James Blake 2 Noah Kahan 3 beabadoobee 4 Arlo Parks 5 Thundercat 6 Lykke Li 7 Modest Mouse 8 Bruce Springsteen 9 The Pretty Reckless 10 Bleachers Ok I was a little worried at how much I didn't really care for the last James Blake single but this song is back on form <3 need to check out the album soon ~ 'Porch Light' is up there with Noah's best songs to date for me, sounding a lot less like a commercial rehash than 'The Great Divide' did (as much as I did grow to like that song too). The beabadoobee song is a bit angstier than I expected from a collab between her and The Marías, think their styles come together quite nicely. Another good track from Arlo continuing in the vibe of the first 2 singles, think I like this one a little more than 'Heaven'. Also a really cool vibe from this Thundercat song and Lykke's is a lot better than her lead single for me too. The Modest Mouse song is cool but too short. A very nice cover version from Bruce. The Pretty Reckless song is decent, and after being surprisingly a lot more into the last Bleachers single than I expected the follow-up has not landed anywhere near as well for me, didn't really like this one unforch.

US Hot 100 – 03/21/2026
Sam Fender possibly following Dave in finally making a Hot 100 debut soon then... (I don't think Sam has ever even made Bubbling Under before?) Good to see Julia Wolf now making it onto the main chart, scraping in the low 90s the same week she's done the same in the UK!

Pop Track of the Week 2026: Week 11
1 SIENNA SPIRO 2 Melanie C 3 Charlotte Cardin 4 The Pussycat Dolls 5 Holly Humberstone 6 Freya Ridings 7 Charlie Puth 8 Kacey Musgraves 9 Charlotte MacInnes 10 Charley 11 Robyn 12 Luke Combs SIENNA's whole career so far kind of feels like she's just trying to fill an Adele-shaped gap in the music industry but she is continuing to be pretty consistently enjoyable in this lane so I won't complain, I expect this song will also grow on me with more listens like all of her other hits so far have. Pretty good songs from Melanie, Charlotte C, PCD and Holly. Freya's and Charlie's are both nice. The Kacey song is musically solid but the lyrics are a bit on the cringy side for me, it's like a (more) countryfied Sabrina Carpenter song, I'll hope for songs that are more up my street to come from this era as I do find her to generally be one of the better artists in country. Charlotte M was ok, found the vocals on the Charley song a little annoying at points, not really sure what's going on with this Robyn era as now 2 out of the 4 songs we've heard have been a bit of a mess (at least 'Dopamine' was a bop), Luke Combs continues to be Luke Combs.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Agreed with this general sentiment though I'm not quite as enthusiastic about it in general - I found the tropical house sound got played out extremely quickly and Kygo in particular really never put out anything else I liked at all iirc but 'Firestone' still remains a good representative of the genre.

Lottery: 🪷The Results🪷
Oop sorry playing catchup with the results again - I did have a feeling I could potentially do quite well this time as the song really grabbed me instantly when I found it (so was glad I came across it quite quickly as it may have been a bit tough to find other candidates for this particular theme hehe), didn't quite top anyone's ranking but was fun to quickly read through and see lots of double figure points *.* soo... thank you to @Iz様 🌟 and @matto for the silver medals (glad to have not let the former down with an anime song pick x), @AllStarBySmashMouth, @Colm, @danG, @NocheLuna and @seven. for bronzes, @CowTzy, @FrankLuck, @pavi and @Chez Wombat for further double figure points and @Jade, @King Rollo, @Klumzee, @Ansel, @awardinary, @Addy!, @Roba., @Silas (:o) and @WhoOdyssey for the rest of my points! In all my years of entering spinoffs I have still never made the podium in one aside from a 2nd place finish in BJFestivalen which is kind of its own thing, this is just another addition to a fairly long list of 4th/5th place finishers, not the worst problem to have tbf x Cannot argue with any of the songs that did make the podium here as I gave double figure points to all three - well done Rollo on finally winning a contest in this forum, definitely a major standout, I also gave high points to 'Bullets' and voted for the sadly DNQing 'We Are The Same' in its semi-final as well so this nicely makes up for those songs not getting the results they deserved! (I thought I did recall you sent another one of their songs to another contest too and indeed just checked and you sent 'Lights' to Unknown Pleasures, which I also voted for and which came 10th so a little better than they did in BJSC but still not as good as this result ofc). 'Coconut Mall' coming 2nd and very close to the win is very much iconic - I take offence to the suggestion that it was a novelty entry, it's a jovial classic xx Follows me coming top 10 in the Japan vs. South Korea spinoff with another bit of music from the Mario franchise ('Gusty Garden Galaxy' from Super Mario Galaxy) so it's a formula that works clearly! And the Summericia entry was an excellent bit of me bait plucked from whatever obscure archives you were plundering (another song I will need to get a local file for to get on my Spotify playlists). Also great to see a top 10 finish here for Ennea after the slow start to their results in the main contest and a couple of tracks I already knew and approved of from Terra Avium and Lotunia making it in too. Sooo close for my 18 from Dobago - I actually only had it as my 13 pointer after my first listen but bumped it all the way up to the top as it slapped even harder second time around, that not quite being enough for it to sneak a top 10 but I did all I could. Thanks @Dobbo for reminding me of Nihiloxica's existence anyway, although I see the song is from 2023 and they've not released anything else since that album, hopefully soon! Hooray for solid top half results for other big faves from Jadakissnia and Trifoski too and decent midtable showings for Zephyra Continuum and Deandria (plus the other iconic pick from Hushkanukia). Danæviia the most robbed here although not exactly surprising, they got a difficult theme draw as any song under 90 seconds has a tough job making enough of an impression to pick up big points and obviously it being a rap song doesn't help with general BuzzJack appeal lol but it did the job for me, banger! Thanks Noche for the hosting, definitely down for doing another one of these at some point!

Top 200 Best selling Singles Of The Noughties
Have not been posting in the thread but I was following along for a while and then fell out of the habit of checking this forum as I often do but have been back to see the last few posts at least - I'll try and read back the stuff I missed at some point, much appreciation for the effort that went into all the commentaries and whatnot here as ever anyway!

UK Singles Chart new entry of the week | 2026 Week 11
Each week (aiming for Sunday evenings) I'll post one of these polls and ask you all to select your favourites from the week's new entries in the UK Singles Chart top 100. Unlike the similar polls in the genre forums, this poll is multiple choice - I'll leave it to your discretion how you want to give votes, if you want to just vote for your favourite each week then go for it, if not you can vote for as many songs as you feel deserve a vote (I will encourage people to make sure they've actually listened to all of the songs before voting but I can't enforce that obviously x). There's also a 'none of the above' option if you want to put in a protest vote. And then feel free to post in the thread any rankings/ratings or general thoughts. The song with the most votes at the end of the week will be the winner. Sorry for tardiness with the poll again, I kinda forgor. Will try my best to get back on schedule with the next one. xx Last week's double poll produced one relatively close-ish result and one three-way nailbiter. From the short list from week 9 American indie duo twenty one pilots prevailed with 'Drag Path', a song that was originally only briefly available as a bonus track for first week purchasers of their 8th album 'Breach' but that became so popular that they decided to belatedly issue it as a single (albeit in an edited form). Not quite sure I understand why but there you go, its popularity translated into it being their first top 30 hit in the UK in a decade and a poll win here, 5 votes ahead of Lana Del Rey. Week 10 had just one vote in it between the entire top 3 but it was ultimately the week's lowest charting new entry that won out, British virtual band Gorillaz alongside Argentine producer Bizarrap, American singer Kara Jackson and British-American-Indian sitar player Anoushka Shankar (who TIL is Norah Jones' half-sister) with 'Orange County', which was the 5th/6th single from their 9th album 'The Mountain' (alongside 'The Hardest Thing' which it is an offshoot of and shares a music video with) although did not sneak into the chart until the album release. It managed to just squeak a win by one vote over two new top 20 hits from Alex Warren and RAYE which took joint 2nd place. It does unfortunately have the distinction of being the first poll winner of the year to not reach at least 20 votes but hey ho! All songs in both polls managed to pace ahead of 'none of the above' this time. Full week 9 results: 1 20/40 twenty one pilots - Drag Path (#23) 2 15/40 Lana Del Rey - White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter (#58) 3 7/40 Mumford & Sons and Gracie Abrams - Badlands (#64) 4 6/40 Mumford & Sons - The Banjo Song (#91) [4/40 none of the above] Full week 10 results: 1 16/40 Gorillaz - Orange County (feat. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar) (#94) 2 15/40 Alex Warren - FEVER DREAM (#3) 2 15/40 RAYE - Nightingale Lane. (#20) 4 10/40 BLACKPINK - GO (#44) 5 9/40 Gorillaz - The Moon Cave (feat. Asha Puthli, Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur, Jalen Ngonda and Black Thought) (#72) 6 8/40 Bruno Mars - Risk It All (#15) 6 8/40 Olivia Dean - The Hardest Part (#19) 8 7/40 Sonny Fodera and CHRYSTAL - My Loving (#66) 9 6/40 Bella Kay - Steady (#63) 10 3/40 Bruno Mars - Cha Cha Cha (#47) 10 3/40 Skye Newman - Walk (#48) [2/40 none of the above] This week's contenders: Harry Styles - American Girls (#1) Harry Styles - Ready, Steady, Go! (#5) Bebe Rexha and Faithless - New Religion (#43) ANOTR - Talk To You (feat. 54 Ultra) (#53) Bruno Mars - God Was Showing Off (#67) Julia Wolf - In My Room (#97) It's another short list for this week though not quite short enough for me to want to just wait and do another double poll - 6 new entries this time including a couple from Harry Styles' album and a belated third new Bruno Mars song (looking like Harry will likewise get a belated third new entry next week). I can see where the wind will be blowing in this poll but I would like to subtly suggest people give the ANOTR song a chance xo (aside, only just realised 54 Ultra being just one place away from starting his chart career at #54, gah) Hall of Fame: Week 1: Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [29/49] Week 2: Fleetwood Mac - Landslide [27/48] Week 3: Bruno Mars - I Just Might [26/44] Week 4: Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over [23/43] Week 5: Harry Styles - Aperture [30/46] Week 6: Noah Kahan - The Great Divide [21/44] Week 7: sombr - Homewrecker [31/43] Week 8: Charli xcx - Dying For You [23/43] Week 9: twenty one pilots - Drag Path [20/40] Week 10: Gorillaz - Orange County (feat. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar) [16/40]
