  2. I am surprised “Cruel Summer” and “Venus” have yet to go gold, both have well over 150m streams on Spotify and I’m guessing that the UK is where their biggest audience is.
  3. Still waiting for that Shakespears Sister Platinum certification :cheeseblock:

It must have been a big seller in downloads as it only sold just under 200k originally so that’s an extra 1m since but only has just under 65m streams on Spotify.

Impressive for Ultrabeat to go 2x Platinum considering it sold less than 200k originally and *only* has close to 65m streams on Spotify. I guess it’s been a big seller on downloads?
  6. Does anybody know how close “Stay” by Shakespears Sister is to Platinum status? It was on over 300,000 digital sales as of 2019.

It did so in September. I think because it’s the 30th anniversary of its release today that they made a post about it.

  9. What are Hall & Oates doing at no.29? Has someone else released a version of Jingle Bell Rock this century and this was just a typo?

I wonder how close “Stay” by Shakespears Sister is to Platinum or at least millionaire status. It was on 305k post-1994 sales in 2019 which put it at just shy of 800k in total.

  14. The main version on Spotify is the original version. Check out the version below that was HUGE in the UK. I was 10 at the time and I remember it being played a lot more than Man! I Feel like a Woman. Edit: For some reason the video wouldn’t play so here’s the link:

Richard Marx was being interviewed on TV this morning and made me look up on the BPI website to see how well “Right Here Waiting” has done, but was shocked to see it went Silver in 1989 but has yet to even go Gold in the digital age. Anyone else suprised by this?
