Record Of The Year 2014 [The Final]
Turns out I've only heard 12 anyway, most of which should be nowhere near any best of anything list (but that's my fault for not getting involved earlier). Hewer go: 1, Sia – Chandelier (fave) 2. Coldplay - Magic 3. Sigma - Nobody To Love 4. Ella Henderson - Ghost 5. Katy Perry feat. Juicy J - Dark Horse 6. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off 7. Paloma Faith - Only Love Can Hurt Like This 8. G.R.L. - Ugly Heart 9. Charli XCX - Boom Clap 10. Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX - Fancy 11, Sigma feat. Paloma Faith – Changing 12, Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass

Female Solo Artists Who Have Debut No.1 Singles & Albums
I think if the name appears on the single, as a feature, a with, an and or anything else, then it clearly counts (it certainly would if there were no other number ones after it). So Cole and Ora should come off that list

Stephen's Story charity single release
I've not seen it promoted anywhere since the initial FB post I saw, so maybe it won't get as much media exposure as I thought it would.

Stephen's Story charity single release
I've seen that a band called The Neon Brotherhood have released a single called Hope Aint A Bad Thing with all proceeds to the Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Stephen Sutton. It's on iTunes already, the band is local and I believe it's backed by the family. I'm not commenting on the song but it seems to me that the momentum may make this massive as it will cover all demographics. I'm tempted to buy it simply to support the cause. It could also be a complete non-seller....but I suspect it'll be next weeks number one and end the run of one weekers too. Good luck to them.

Question on iTunes, Amazon MP3 etc charts
Hmmmm so practically they reduce the peak of songs underneath them that are released....hmmmmm

Question on iTunes, Amazon MP3 etc charts
How can a song be in the singles chart but not available to buy as a single/song? Quite a few tracks are listed in the singles charts as album only. The only thing I can think of is it's pre-orders BUT I thought they are added to the first weeks sales so it can't be that. I am sure this has been asked loads, and is probably a simple answer, but it has been bugging me.

The current state of the UK charts
I don't think you have to like what's in the charts to like the charts. I was always interested, but really got into it the summer that Rock Me Amadeus went to number one (sometime in the 8s I think). Smash Hits gave a way a free poster and you filled in the top 10 over the summer, I filled it in and always remember (hopefully correctly), that Falco spent 10 weeks in the top 10 but just one week at number one. That really got me hooked. Overall I think that that the UK charts have done a good job representing what's popular by concentrating on sales (barring the mid 00s with that whole downloads stupid rule about weeks). They have pretty much moved with the times and the mainstream - which is what they represent. I don't know what happens next, and I am open to streaming being included, but as that is a fundamental move from sales maybe they should start with (low key) streaming charts and combined sales and streaming charts to see what the differences are (if any), before making changes.

One album wonders
I would agree with this - The Saturday's have been consistent in their underperformance and I suspect their media profile. singles sales and breakthrough potential kept their deal by the skin of their teeth.

One album wonders
LOL but I stand by her as being a one album wonder :teresa: . Column inches and feature vocals on singles don't count
-
One album wonders
No it's not - she only had one mege selling album The others were flops or mediocre at best sales wise.

One album wonders
I get it from the sales point of view BUT what springs to mind for me is Stripped by Christina Aguilera. It's brilliant, captured her moment at the right time and I will never need another album from her. Plus, no other sales have got anywhere close (plus she's moved into telly again now anyway).

How do you feel about old songs in the chart?
Love the charts and LOVE that in this day and age they represent what sells in a week to deem what's popular in that timeframe, regardless of the promotional opportunities that drive sales. I am even open to introducing streaming etc because while I don't get 100%, I get it 100% that things change.... There are plenty other measures of cool which have restrictive elements to control the content f that's what you prefer.

The End Of HMV
I honestly think HMV should have created a music focussed HMV mobile phone brand (they could use an existing network like Tesco mobile). That way they would have store footfall and could have done a whole manner of things to attract the music lover to HMV mobile and maintain physical sales while also increasing digital sales: IE. Digital vouchers to buy the CD album which they can upload to any device, but the scanning of the voucher and purchase automaticaly downloads the purchase to the HMV mobile etc. But they should have done it a few years ago.

Top 150 Best Selling Singles Of 2012 - Schedule
Ok - I don't agree with this, as there could be a MASSIVE release today (even for one day only) selling hundreds of thousands of downloads, but it would count to the 2013 chart? Makes no sense to me. But at least I understand it now. Thanks. Thanks.

Top 150 Best Selling Singles Of 2012 - Schedule
Much as I am interested in this - how can they do it when there is at lease one day of sales to go (and I suspect more from when the list was compiled)? Particularly at this time of the year when sales are greater than usual and can impact the end of year figures. Surely there will have to be revised figures sometime after Tuesday?

Large gaps between number ones
Gary Barlow is in a group called Take That and he has had a few number ones before Sing......no point ignoring those really.

2011 Y/E Top 100 Singles/Albums (with estimated sales)
Quite shocked at TT Ultimate Collection at over 2.1m sales now (crossing 2m last year). That's all four TT albums since over 2m since they reformed. Very good.

Stupid question 1: Based on A Kylie Christmas
Thanks Mr Bubre - it seems that there is no definitive answer to this and unless there starts to be a lot more EPs, I guess it hardly matters. Having said all this - I think I will download tracks separately in the future then, just for maximum chart impact just in case.

Stupid question 1: Based on A Kylie Christmas
Thanks...I'm now wondering if anyone has the complete chart for last week as Leona Lewis's Hurt EP should have charted seperately - Hurt as a song and the Hurt EP.
