Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts
I went into this era with some trepidation; both Younger Now & She Is Coming had some great songs but also some shockers (Cattitude? no thanks!). But having listened to the album in full a handful of times now, I can safely say it's my favourite from her. Hopefully the Backyard Sessions videos of the new tracks that are on Apple Music get a wider release sometime soon. Album rate: 1) Plastic Hearts 2) Bangerz 3) Can't be Tamed 4) Breakout 5) She is Coming 6) The Time of our Lives 7) Younger Now 8) Meet Miley Cyrus 9) Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz

Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You
Crazy to think that she'd be #2 under the old rules already, in November! Would love it if she managed #1 this year in UK, she'll certainly be getting a lot of streams out of me in the run up to Xmas haha.

positions • 6th Album
It's certainly a very cohesive album, which normally is a big plus for me, but in this instance it all pretty much sounds like one long song. And that song, isn't very good. Only the title track really stands out to me after first listen. A lot of people were saying that song sounds like "Ariana Grande on autopilot" which I really disagreed with, but funnily enough that's exactly how I would describe the rest of the album lol.

Sweet Melody • 3rd Single
The video is incredible! But why is Jesy not included in the shots where the girls transition into one another?

My Prerogative ● 16 years
Love the song and video - minus K Fed and beginning the unfortunate trend of her boyfriends appearing in her music videos.

The Great British Bake Off • Series 11
Oh my heart ACHED for Sura after she knocked Dave's cakes over. Especially when she ended up winning that challenge, you could tell it only compounded her guilt, poor thing. Obviously felt bad for Dave too. I think Sura is my favourite so far but personality wise it would have to be Laura by far. Rowan is giving me skinny Christopher Biggins vibes for sure. I was expecting Linda to go, felt bad for Loriea as she didn't do the worst bake in any of the challenges but she was just consistently below average I guess.

Jennifer Lopez & Maluma - Pa’ Ti / Lonely
Is this some sort of tie-in to their film together?

Sam Smith - Diamonds
I think I'm officially a Sam smith fan! I've loved everything from this era (apart from that camp cover they did).

Steps - 'What the Future Holds'
Not Sia's finest work - but it's great for Steps!

It's been removed?

Zoe Alexander speaks out about her X Factor audition
For me, ultimately what it boils down to, is the situation may have transpired very differently if she actually sang it well. I've watched a few of her recent videos on her channel and... sure she can hold a note, but her sound just isn't very good (also seems to be using some sort of pitch corrector as there's a nasty electronic twang in her voice). For someone who says it was her dream to be on the show, she really didn't seem to know much about it. For instance, would she really expect the producers to play the third party instrumentals from karaoke-version.com, rather than clear the actual instrumental for use??? I don't really think her "receipts" tell us anything shocking or new. I do however feel sorry for her that the producers gave her the P!nk angle, and forced her to sing the song. I don't doubt for a second they told her to sing that song, or that they had a pre-determined narrative for her the moment they found out she was a tribute act. But she was given a second song. Also she claims in her video that she never returned to the stage, and her dad went on the stage by himself? But it's clearly right there in the footage, no way is that doctored. Which would either have to be a lie on her part, or she was so distraught that it's warped her sense of events from that day. So yeah, a tricky one. They didn't treat her well, I don't think anyone would doubt that. But I find it hard to swallow that the entire situation was concocted by the producers because they KNEW she would react that way... how would they know that. Lots of contestants have a bad experience, they don't get the response from the judges they were after, but most just walk off and deal with it. She went from 0-100 real quick, she probably was having some form of an anxiety attack but even after all this time there seems to be a lack of accountability on her part for her actions and what she could have done differently.

Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky
FINALLY! Hard to believe the first EP was out over a year ago. Wonder if the 3 EP thing is shelved now and this is all new music?
-
Mariah Carey
Hmm, I hope so! But I get the impression this year will be all about her memoirs... although it would be fitting to see the 30th anniversary celebrations culminate in a new single.

Holiday • 2nd Single
Does Jesy not write on their songs anymore?

Smile • Third Single
I really like this, but it does sound like it's from the Witness era.

The Veronicas - Biting My Tongue
This!!! I really love these girls, they rarely disappoint but their scheduling is a complete mess.

Daisies • Second Single
Whoever would have thought that during lockdown AND a pregnancy, Katy would continue to deliver with her visuals like this. And I'm loving that mini-megamix too.

Kelly Clarkson
Apparently, Kelly has filed for divorce! :( Definitely didn't see that one coming, the way she spoke about them they always seemed so solid. Isn't he her manager as well?
- Celine Dion - Courage

Ella Henderson - Take Care Of You
I was reading this and literally couldn't remember what Glow sounded like, lol. Although listening to it now, I remember it and it's a great track for sure.

The Good Fight
I haven't watched Season 4 yet, but I had no idea that Rose Leslie had left! And now I've just read that Cush Jumbo has also left, although if scheduling allows she may wrap up her story some point in Season 5. Which is a shame, as Luca was my favourite character. Maia... I never felt like her character "clicked" even though I thought Rose played her really well. EDIT: Season 4 was only short because they couldn't finish filming it ^^^
