also on the show tonight (auditioned)- X-Factor Chart Thread (I)
There are more songs than in the opening episode btw, and some of them are just the backing/montage tracks as opposed to auditions, those are just the ones I remember from the press screening  @SweetDreams- New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 16 August
Joe McElderry's single out 11th Oct, album 18th- '3 Words' sells 1 million copies!
Well it depends when it was given the award if it was april 1st then it's more like 250k outside the UK and of course we don't know how far she is over 1 million (it's not going to be much, obviously, but still) but ultimately that's 250k that GA or whatever have never sold outside the UK. I mean the album pretty much flopped everywhere and promotion seems to have stopped completely because of the malaria and everything Plus, in some countries #1 is like a few 1,000 copies, so it's never going to shift huge amounts. I'd say it was pretty promising though for a new/unknown artist with pretty poor material- iTunes Chart: August 2010 (II)
All of Cheryl's album did Although that was more down to a mistake by iTunes I'm sure Telephone got into the top 40 too- '3 Words' sells 1 million copies!
3 words has been given an IFPI European platinum award - http://www.ifpi.com/content/section_news/plat2010.html This shows sales of more than 1 million across Europe! It was awarded in Q2 which is April-June, when 3 words UK sales were anywhere from 700-820k, so about 150k-300k across the rest of Europe (at least, assuming she's sold 1 million exactly)- All X Factor live performances to be 'available for download
I don't think AI are allowed to chart, but then the US charts work slightly different to ours with airplay being involved, which I can't see any of the performances getting. I think this will be true, but I don't see them being eligible. I mean if Glee can get 2 or 3 tracks in the top 40 a week and is watched by ~1m, how much would a show watched by ~15m get? It would be total takeover.- All X Factor live performances to be 'available for download

Going on The X Factor will only provide a short term boost for Diana. Alex, Cheryl and JLS have all shown they can sell well without the show, all of their tracks have gone top 10 and all have sold over 200k (in the case of Cheryl and JLS, all over 300k), something which I don't think Once has even yet to manage. It seems as though that Diana has still only got a small core fan base from when she was on The X Factor, she needs to attract the "silent majority" as it were to buy the singles and then go on to buy the album. What is somewhat interesting is that Cheryl, JLS and Diana all share the same music PR company, they're obviously doing great things for former two but seem to be struggling with Diana.- Nadine Coyle - Insatiable
You're right and they probably do, but in that case it's Fascination holding up the group rather than Cheryl herself. Personally I don't think Fascination will actually want the girls back as long as Cheryl keeps selling.- Nadine Coyle - Insatiable
Cheryl's only doing a second album because Nadine is taking forever though, the same reason why Kimberley is doing more presenting work (SMP, etc.). Cheryl is of course with Girls Aloud's label, so in that respect she can't really "hold up" the group (Certainly not by doing solo music at least). By that I mean if the other 4 girls are ready to record and Fascination are ready, they will just cut/change/speed up Cheryl's solo album plans and get her back into GA. With Nadine the story is different, not only has it been over a year since the split started yet there's no sign of anything from her album, but she lives in the states, isn't on GA's label (or even any label) and is doing completely her own thing and Fascination have no control over her apart from what's in the contract. Good for her certainly , but not good for the group in organising a reunion and the label in trying to communicate with her. The problem is that we're soon entering the tough pre-christmas period, unless she manages to get an X Factor performance, launching her from September onwards will be very difficult and I can see most labels wanting to try launch her until January/new year when competition is lower.- iTunes Chart: July 2010 (II)
It is playlisted on Radio 1- iTunes Chart: July 2010 (II)
Once went 1-4-8 inside the top 10 (then 18-31-44-48-65-77-x)- Diana Vickers - The Boy Who Murdered Love
So.. next week then? <_<- iTunes Chart: July 2010
Amazing? They've all been crap. If they're not poorly mimed (Saturdays, Basshunter) they're either out of tune (Esmee) or you can't actually hear them over the backing track (Ellie) - X-Factor Chart Thread (I)
