    I'll try and get into it, but it might only be a chapter per day at best, I don't think I'll have the time to rush through it.

     

    My first comment, about the prologue, is that maybe it's a bit over descriptive? "A large glass bottle with gold ornate trim was smashed ceremoniously against the red brick of the building" even though only a page earlier the building was already described as "the blood-red brick mansion". And within 3 pages there's three descriptions of light. "Glinting in the sunlight", "she watched the winter sunlight glisten off [the lake's] surface", "she stepped slowly down, the light catching the diamonds".

     

    It's a bit of a pet hate of mine when a book is padded out with descriptions that feel surplus to requirement, but hey, this is just the first three pages, perhaps that'll calm down.

    I also have low expectations for the documentary. They’re stingy when it comes to content and sharing details. They’re going for the same safe route and talk about the time they met the Queen and how girl power has become people power.

    This. Nothing the girls do in terms of projects is embarrassing. What I find embarrassing is doing something for the sake of pleasing the fans, when your heart is not in it. Kudos to Melanie for declining to reunite with the girls many times, and power to her for accepting when the time was right (see the triumphant 2019 reunion tour).

    Or rather, she needs time & focus? :cool:

    Thanks for sharing Jay. You can see her shifting in her seat when asked about a reunion -- it's pretty clear when you read between the lines. I still believe, that if Wembley was still on her bucket list, this year and next would have panned out differently.

     

    I support her book thing and even defending her when people say nasty things. But not this attitude of hers.

     

    She’s been doing copy-cat of what Vicky B has been doing for ages now. The posh accent, the image cleaning, the more conservative attitude, the fashion, the type of interviews, and this BS of “I’m going to support them, you can go on without me” mantra. Jesus Geraldine Christ. I won’t be surprise if soon she comes out as a Terf, like Roisin Murphy. Snotty and with no sense of awareness of who made her famous in the first place. Girl, you touched / kissed Prince Charles wearing a (super cool) sexy outfit.

    it’s all a mess. And it’s time to move on. Give us the final tour / performance / documentary ant stop with this pantomime.

    At the end of the day, I’ll never understand Geri nor Victoria. They contributed zero performance-wise. The Mels and Emma always carried the whole band vocally and on stage. It’s not like they’ve been asked to show us an intricate dance routine or do a cover of Celine Dion.

    No. It’s impossible. That’s Melanie C from the 90s. Is she ageing in reverse? Wow.

    They both look good.

     

    I know they’ve been friends for a long time. Some might think Mel is out of her mind to have such a friend, not such an innocent girl, but what a classy lady is Sophie.

    Geri might be.. Geri. But she always comes up with something new. She might not be successful all the time, but let’s not forget: four #1s and an almost #1 with Look At Me. The second best selling solo Spice with her debut. She acted, wrote books, did documentaries, DVDs, and made the image of the group. We all like to get all funny and make jokes, let’s not forget she’s a person and there’s a limit to everything. I was in Denden back then and I want to forget all the things that were said about Melanie C. Jokes are one thing, hating on someone is another.

    She is trust me.

    When asked about a Spice Girls reunion tour or documentary "At some point, 100% there will be something. When I do something, I like to keep it 100% focused. It's like being a mother, so right now I'm dealing with one child - that is Rosie. She deserves that attention"

     

    It is why an announcement was imminent in Feb and now might not even be until next year. Geri has decided nothing will happen until she is done with her book. It is why Victoria was so pro Spice Girls earlier this year, almost daily refrences and now silence. It is why Mel B briefly unfollowed Geri on instant last month before people caught on and she re-followed her. It is why Mel B keeps saying Victoria is on board because the hold up isn't Victoria.

    I mean, if Melanie C can change things up with her solo career and improve, I see no reason as to why the girls cant either. They just need a good motif and focus, which they dont have sadly...

     

    The GH tracks were lame because they tried to recreate the sound from the 90s for the purposes of promoting a specific sound. A mistake, but ultimately had they actually promoted the music it would have been better received, come on :rolleyes:

     

    Biff and Kylie just did an amazing pop album that reflects current trends whilst also paying homage to her previous sounds. It's a good lane she found herself in. There's no reason to think the girls cant do the same if they focus!

     

    I don’t agree. Melanie C - let’s be honest - has a higher music knowledge compared to the others. Maybe they did tried and what Geri suggested was We’re Gonna Make It Happen 2.0 to which Emma said “I love it!” and threw up in the back of her throat, Mel B wished she scissored Victoria instead, and Melanie C and Victoria said “never again”.

    Again. I don’t think here the goal is for her to create anything new, to be a top-writer out of the blue. She knows this could be a quick win as her previous kids books were successful. Quick win, cash in. I would have avoided releasing those two songs, they’re average and I don’t see the connection with the project. Why not an animated trailer showing what the books is about with a more eerie sound, for example an orchestral and epic version of Without Love. Those songs can’t even be used on social media to promote the books, even if you had a picture of it. To me, and it’s my humble opinion, writing is what she should stick to.
