I do agree. Of course, it’s a bit sad, but you know, people move on. There’s never gonna be any new music other than solo efforts. And each of the girls have their own life, passions, and space. They’re individuals who want to express themselves as such. Melanie C with music-related projects, Victoria with fashion, Emma being a business woman, Mel B with TV (and yes, she’s great doing that, one of the most memorable judges ever), and Geri being chameleonic. No other band in the world has produced such distinctive personalities - and even if I do agree that there are some big flops that have happened between them - why don’t we start as fans to acknowledge the fact the after all this time they still can make headlines as a group and individually?

This. She likes making music, full stop. As for the others. Since 4 girls is not a problem, why didn’t they produce something as a 4 piece without Melanie? If they really wanted it to happen, it was just about working hard, hitting the studio, and maybe them sharing the outcome with Mel to see if there was a chance to have her on board at the end. Headlines and Song for Her are the best example they lost some spark when it comes to crafting their masterpieces. I mean, these are the girls that wrote Wannabe and Viva Forever. You don’t release something unless it’s of the same quality. I understand the reluctance of some of them when it comes to releasing something new. This is not solo music / projects where they can do whatever they want and nobody other than fans notice that. The exposure of new music as the Spice Girls is so risky.

I agree. Her album are out of the charts after one week, takes part to C-projects, and she’s booked in festivals that work on nostalgia. But you know what? Us fans we’re ok, at the moment we’re waiting for her 9th album she’s working on with people like LP Giobbi (cool female DJ you should check). I understand it must be difficult given the fact there’s never gonna be another Spice Girls album, ever. Just a suggestion: whenever I need some Spice, I just go back to their amazing catalogue. The three albums we have are Amazing with no fillers. PS: before jumping to conclusion, also be aware that not everyone has the same level of English - expressing our point of views as a translation from our native language doesn’t always go as planned. So, no diss and no shade in my words ;-)

This! Personally I also think it was fair she didn’t want to make new music when she worked hard to get some credibility as a solo artist. Bar Mel B in dancing and Emma in singing, the others are absolutely not able to deliver a song, let alone a full album. Geri, for example, did promote her first record with only lip-sync performances. Something that Melanie didn’t do, even if she lacked experience. I personally think she preferred her small venues and top40 albums than living a live under constant scrutiny - and we all know what the media did to her.

You right. The same way Victoria is now. So what? It’s their life. They don’t owe us anything. And again, we only know one small part of the story. The so-called friendship wasn’t always like that. At some point there was one of them that used to hide behind the sofas of a club in London when she was told one of the other girls was around. And that’s just one of the examples. Many, many things we are not aware of.. (and by the way, nope, I’m not a blind fan - I’ve always been a Scary Spice and I fell in love with Melanie C talent and integrity but she doesn’t pay my bills, hun :P )

But maybe she wasn’t a stumbling block, she was only someone who had their reasons to say no. Do you think we know all the truth behind their relationships? Don’t forget there was a time where they weren’t in speaking terms, Melanie addresses that in many interviews. I don’t have high expectations for the book in terms of revelations, but I’d live for that if she threw some shade and gave some real truth (like the supposedly real talk about the replacement thing).

She wasn’t. She was busy with her passion, making music and with her live band. What she likes to do. And as a fan I don’t think why I should expect anything different than that. She’s a free person, not a Spice robot. If she says no, she has the rights to do it. The same way Geri left, Mel B thought it was ok to refuse the Live Aid concert, Victoria totally distancing herself, and Emma.. who knows..

Right. But - as I said before - if that replacement-related fall out is true, it shows they we shouldn’t be so quick to judge her as we know only one part of the truth. She acts according to her values, don’t you think?

You are right. Geri is just as important as the others. The Spice Girls is 5. Although, as voodoo says, look at Westlife! It’s not like they had to, they could have said “you’re not welcome anymore!” - what do you think it’s going to happen with Little Mix and Blackfish Queen? That said, yes, I was just joking because as a queer fan I’m still sad about her backing up the Tories, but this is another story. Going back to the topic, I find that replacement thing really odd and offensive. I hope Melanie clarifies that in her book.

With Melanie is always like that - or it’s just us fans being too demanding. Why if the back photo is great and those amazing inside pictures, she chose to use that photo to launch the book? 😂 I really hope she shares some spicy info and throws some shade.

If what spiceboy says is true (I mean, if the source told the truth), I’d love to see some people here put the same energy to show disappointment the same way they do whenever Melanie C does something they don’t like. I’ll try to find the interview, but this is not the first time Mel has taken the blame instead of bad mouthing or calling out her friends. In that interview she basically states that whenever a reunion failed to happen, she was considered the only stumbling block, but there were actually others that were also against or not available- they simply played the “safe card” and never make it public. Now - if that replacement thing is true, this shows some of them are just not as genuine as they want to appear. I really do hope the idea of the replacement is not Madame Horner idea. She should be thankful the other girls didn’t replace her and invite her back when they reunited in 2007. The audacity.

Beautiful. In the last couple of years, she has lost some friends / relatives because of cancer - I remember reading it somewhere. I guess it’s something that - unfortunately - many people deal with, regardless of their social status.

It was fair to have a Spice Girls song. I’m sure that once the new album is out, she’ll have more opportunities than before to promote her music in the US. Don’t forget she had a slot on James Cough Cough Show to perform WIA before Covid and many radio interviews planned. The more she embraced her Spice roots, the more things have started to go better for her. As she says, she’s a solo artist, she’s a mom, but she’s also Sporty Spice.

Considering the general numbers of views decreased on YouTube (only the biggest like Adele and Taylor Swift do great numbers), and the fact it’s a lyric video, they’re doing fine. I wish there was more coming, but I have the feeling they’re saving time and energy for Spice World and the tour.

Such a pity that album version, because Emma’s live version was amazing. I can’t stand Robbie’s voice. As for Melanie, yes, I hope they’re going to keep it closer to the original - the orchestral edit is great too. And I want her to glow, please let it be a great gown, beautiful gown.
