  1. “That’s not what we were about, we were about a vibe, that was about 5 girls.” Vicky B., 2007 Giving You Everything Documentary If it’s the end for live shows and new music, officially, anything they’ll do from now on to go stop right now, thank you very much, should include all 5. 3, 4, 2.5 won’t work - and personally I’m not interested.
  2. I honestly think - sign this words - that nothing Spice related is going to happen ever again. Geri and Victoria are out. The Netflix doc will be vanilla type of content, sugar-coated to not destroy the “legacy”. Glasto is NOT going to happen, too much scrutiny and we all know if it’s 5, they’d be all expected to sing live and dance. At the end of the day, we have t-shirts, mugs, posters, and vinyl records. Better than nothing.. or not.
  3. Well, I think she’s definitely more skilled as a writer than a performer. She struggles at singing live (“Half Of Me@, the GAY gig, etc), and she isn’t a dancer (while the Melanies hollered with their dances moves, she was sipping tea like the Lady she is now.) Let her do what she’s comfortable doing. I also think writing will keep the bad press away, they won’t scrutinise her as they do when she’s a Spice Girl or solo artist. She’s 50, she’s got a beautiful family, lots of money, and her car she loves. I don’t think she owes anything to anyone.
  4. She’s good at characters, let’s give her the credits she deserves. And to write books, you have to be good at creating fictional personas.
  5. This is true, and mostly likely former Spice fans. Although I see the target being so specific: successful working moms, the ones.. Kate, Karen, Kimberly, and all the other Ks.
  6. The “You Go home” vid reference is everything. Hope Siobhan doesn’t take it literally, close all windows!
  7. BBC Radio 2 - A List
  8. She so wants to be Posh. Someone tell her we still stan Vicky B Posh Queen Spice herself, and we don’t accept clones. Thanks. Bye.
  9. The top line melody isn’t actually bad. It’s the production and the lyrics. And that “let’s make it sound sweet”. Please, these are the girls who gave us Naked, Holler, WDYTYA, and many other songs that trashy pop acts could NEVER. At this point, I’d rather have Woman, and that says a lot ahhhh
  10. I don’t know if this is a song for her, but whoever is she who wrote the song should stop right now. It’s like Half Of Me busy working mom version. Those lyrics, God forgive us all. Melanie C AI voice is spot on though. Wow, what the machine can do. Incredible.
  11. Listening to this on Apple Music and the quality is 100%. The chorus is so TLC. I went back to listen to their first records, and I wouldn’t mind a modern version of that.
  12. …and it aged like milk :arrr:
  13. Denial is a great song that would match MKS energy. I’m actually more concerned about the lack of solos: Don’t Give It Up, Song 4 Mutya, and Keisha with Ace Reject.
  14. sCY1GiCzWSE Wishing Mutya success and Suga-branded wrapping paper  “Static silence…”
  15. That’s a great idea. I’d also love a Mel B duet: Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves! Emma: Too Much
  16. Hopefully she sugababes and perform a new song. No more covers, please.
  17. I’m obsessed. I don’t think we should wait that much from streaming. They still have to work hard to create a bigger audience. Acoustic tracks, remixes, videos, live performances, and pitching the song to playlist owners. I’m sure the label will do that with the first single.
  18. Bets are not allowed. But I would, I’m sure she will sell lots of copies. She was born to write (all writers have editors and ghost-helpers). What Geri has is ideas, I don’t care if she uses someone to help her organise them. Singing-wise, I have to be honest, if I were her, I wouldn’t release any music with the book. The risk is to not be taken 100% seriously if the tunes get negative reviews.
  19. Nobody is talking about the videos shown during the concert where they were kids. I’m living for Keisha’s Coolio era.
  20. I have the feeling the book thing is going to do wonders for her. Just like Victoria with fashion. Hopefully, she doesn’t go J.K. Rowling when she sees conservative mothers buying her books. I trust you, Gerita. You can really use that character to create a safe space for all type of kids. As for the songs, Melanie On The Mountain, is not my thing - but I wish she had chosen Without Love from that album, with an orchestral pop-folk instrumental. That song would have been perfect!
  21. Are we listening to the same song? I actually thought the opposite, but I use some hell of headphones. The chorus hits hard! And the song is simple, but it’s all about the voices and the message. Also, there are some 90s R&B references there. In fact, when they performed it live, I immediately got the TLC’s Waterfalls nod. Is it their best song? Nah, but what would be their best song from such an eclectic catalogue. All their songs (bar the ones from version 4.0) have a personality, and this one as well. You said the same when Flatline was released, and since then, it has become one of their best songs ever in terms of how it translated live showcasing their talent. On Twitter, I even read someone saying “I’m out, I was expecting something a la Padam, Padam”. I mean, LMFAO
  22. But this works for all 5 of them. Do I like Emma’s music? Not much. Do I get goosebumps when Geri sings? Never. Do I buy Victoria’s stuff? Not even in a million years. Do I watch Mel AB’s tv shows? I don’t even own a tv! Did I buy Melanie C music Reason-Version of me eras? No, they’re too MOR for me. Do I love these girls? Yes! And I think they should pursue whatever makes them happy. If Geri starts writing books and has to promote them in a small coffee shop, that doesn’t make her effort any less valid. If Melanie C appears at one of her mom’s gigs or plays a respectable slot at Glasto (with no new material), both are respectable. If Emma and Victoria are cool being moms and business women, that’s also girl power. If Mel B is Mel B, let her effing be. We love her for what she is! I might not buy Emma’s music, but trust me, out there, there is a person or a small group for whom those songs mean something, and that’s what we should be proud of - more than any selfish request to perform as a group because “the gays say so”. (I’m queer myself, just to clarify)
  23. If she’s going to sell many copies and get the attention she (supposedly - having not read the book yet) deserves, it will be another example of effective Spice-reinvention. Fingers crossed.
  24. Free Me and Life In Mono are meh and lack personality, IMHO. But who cares about my opinion, Emma did and still will do what makes her happy as an individual - and this won’t affect any possible future group project. If your faves don’t release anything new, that’s not Melanie C fault. It’s like you want her to stop doing solo stuff because 1) there is no group thing happening; 2) the other 4 don’t do anything solo music-related (when they’re actually involved in different valuable projects, from books to entrepreneurship, fashion and charity.
  25. There is no (recording) group. There hasn’t been one since 2007. On the other hand, there are 5 Women who work their ass off doing what they like, and those Women (minus 1) they even found the time to go on tour before Covid happened. If they’re not keen on going on tour now is maybe because out of 5, only 2/3 are fully available. And no, I don’t think their small (but still respectable) solo projects are the reason why they’re not doing it.
