Uhm, dear Mel, all these Festivals, some actually interesting, and no new music.. Maybe there’s something Spice-related happening and she’s gonna “represent”. She’s been so cryptic lately.

It wasn’t my intention to offend my Nonna. The thing is: Geri’s body language showed insecurity and lack of awareness of her own space on stage. The sign language helped her to use her hands to communicate in a more effective way - even for the ones who can hear. PS: English isn’t my first language.

Yes. The use of sign language was definitely a nice thing to do, knowing the Spice Girls had also many fans with hearing impairment - they even used it in some of their concerts. That’s something to be proud of. And - sorry to say this - it helped Geri to find a way to communicate through her body that wasn’t necessarily a proper dance routine. I always felt that she suffered from an Italian-gesture paralysis, when her hands were moving all over the place with no apparent reason. It’s something that you study in theatre related to body and space - but she actually learnt it thanks to sign language. It’s a pity she didn’t try to make it fully hers, perhaps embracing it in all performances and supporting the cause publicly as she did with breast cancer. But I’m definitely asking too much!

This performance screams “chapter closed / we left everything/ everyone else behind”. There’s no room for other lineup changes or drama, now it’s all about music and talent. To me, the best girlgroup when it comes to harmonies. Their voices are what makes the difference.
