Sunday Chart Predictions
Just did a quick calc on SuBo selling 30k on 1st day and 103k by the end of the week and on that basis (yes, i know all factors won't be the same) then Take That would sell 807k this week!!

Sunday Chart Predictions
I hope Take That breaks Oasis' record, the 3rd Oasis album was a disappointment & Progress is a brilliant album. I was genuinely surprised at how good it was, they've not banged out any old "this will do" stuff, you can tell they've laboured to make it top notch & getting producer of the moment Stuart Price in to produce was a good move. I've not bought a Take That album since "Everything Changes", I hope Robbie stays with them for a few albums as I want more of this! The Times review gave it 5 stars (out of 5) which is REALLY rare. My mate tried to get it from Asda yesterday and couldn't see it anywhere so hopefully these aren't all front loaded sales! Long may they rule (the world).

Take That Progress sales
Based on the quality of the record itself I'm hoping it breaks oasis' all time fastest album seller record, was that about 750,000? Half a million is maybe more realistic in the current climate.

Will iTunes pour cold water on pre-releases?
I think it'd be more organic if they were released same time as radio. iTunes & the record companies definately lose sales from holding off for 6 weeks. I can love love love a track, get it on my iPod illegally then by the time it's released I'm bored of it & sometimes don't buy it cos i never want to listen to it again. I really don't think it's a given that it would lead to stagnation in the charts.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Well it was reduced from £21 apparently although I doubt anyone paid that much for it! HMV's pricing is ridiculous (not just the cheap sale items) but they had Madonna's GHV2 for £2 and the same album behind it as £16! Some CD's of Kylie's Fever were £6 and others were £10. Talk about confusing the customer! Last year i saw Kylie's X for £16 when it was about £5 in Asda!

Sunday Chart Predictions
Madonna's double disc Celebration compilation is £3 in the HMV sale. £3! £3!!!! I bought it on Monday along with Robbie's latest album for £3 & the Best of Bros for £2. Don't judge me.

Will iTunes pour cold water on pre-releases?
This is a really interesting issue. I'm genuinely torn in support of both opposing arguements.

iTunes Chart: July 2010 (II)
Sorry if this gets asked loads but do you need a really old version of iTunes to get the popularity bars or can you add it into the latest version?

Sunday Chart Predictions
They look right from memory. Just been to local Asda and mid-way through the lunchtime rush they only had 4 copies of Aphrodite on the shelves and loads of everything else!!

Sunday Chart Predictions
I've not bought the a;lbum yet & I'm a big Kylie fan. Well I bought the std edition for my cousin's birthday but I need to find somewhere that's selling the deluxe version. Anyone know if Tesco's are stocking the deluxe? Aphrodite is now on the front page of iTunes store after earlier in the week them having the iTunes festival links at the top. This should help sales of ATL for those casual cherry pickers.

She's doing promo for the rest of this week and still top 3 on airplay so you never know, could be her 12th #2!

Best Selling Singles & Album Acts Of The Noughties
I know and she was only active for a whole year and almost sold as much as Kylie who was active July 2000 - July 2008 although she did have a break of over 2 year due to her cancer. Is there any write up to go with this pretty please? Thanks

Sunday Chart Predictions
Spirit probably sold about 1.5million in it's 1st 2 months non? SuBo type sales pattern. Is Outta My Head still the 2nd single?

Kylie in the studio
ElectroPop all the way please. Can't get you out of my head didn't lean to R&B and was successful in America. I don't think she really cares about mass appeal in the U.S. anyway, most of her hardcore fans there are gay or have gay sensibilities and I'm sure they don't want her to sound like everything else in the U.S. charts. She should just do her own thing and release what is best from those sessions. And please no "2 Hearts" as 1st single! Release something commercial that's representative of the album!

Most weeks on the chart in a calender year
How do you differentiate physical weeks and download weeks? All of Lady GaGa's singles were physically released as far as I can see, sure the download would massively outsell them but chart weeks are combined (since 2005 or whatever). I know what you mean though getting off your bottom to go to a shop and pay £3.99 for a CD single with four tracks on it is more impressive than paying 79p for a download but back then it was pre-MP3 and there was no illegal downloading so it's swings and roundabouts if you ask me. I'm sure LOTS of people have an illegal GaGa song or 4 on their iPods - with Oasis you could tape the song off the radio or a friends CD single and that was it, even CD Burners weren't commonplace until around 1998-2000 (and even then some CD players didn't play copies) so if you wanted the song you HAD to go to the shop to buy it. Oh how times have changed, if you wanted a single that had been out of the charts for a few months back then you were buggered unless, like oasis, they were re-released or reissued by the record company now obviously we can cherry pick virtually every major song from the past 50 years! Hoorah!

Muppets for surprise No.1?
I enjoyed the video but I doubt people will buy the song in huge numbers. Unless it's a Leon Jackson year it'll have to sell at least Half a million to beat the X Factor single. And I doubt The Muppets would get an X Factor slot in the week before Christmas!
