Friday Chart Predictions
SO glad you're 'honest' in saying Kylie can't sing, so good of you Joel! hahahahha I've been following her for 32 years & she's never sounded better. I may wait until the mids to see if it pushes me to buy the cassette bundle. The alternative covers are nice but it's a bit of plastic I can't play & three of them are in cheap paper sleeves. If a Disco Picture Disc LP became available however, I'd be right on it!

Friday Chart Predictions
I'm spread-eagled for Kylie. :D Found these from Golden's 1st week, forgot it was an April release & I was still buying off iTunes then rather than streaming, think a fair few other men of my age might have got into streaming the past 2.5 years too. Golden 1st week sales - 48,032 copies (including 1,870 from sales-equivalent streams, 6,398 copies on vinyl) Dancing – the first single from Golden – debuted 11 weeks ago at No.47, and finally becomes Minogue’s 51st Top 40 hit, re-entering the chart at No.38 with 8,267 sales, of which 1,617 were for its newly-released 7-inch picture vinyl edition. Stop Me From Falling, has been available for five weeks. It enters the Top 100 for the first time this week (No.78, 5,045 sales)

Any updates? Thought Innerspeaker by Tame Impala would have sold more after 10 years. Bought it at the time on cd & play it regularly on Apple Music

The OCC Top 50 Best Selling Britpop Songs.....EVER!
Great Things was probably my least favourite Echobelly song to that point, Bellyache EP was my 1st ever CD single and all 4 tracks were bangers. Presume this isn't at number 4? think it was released a week before or after the oasis/blur battle.

Chart Battle Replay: Blur vs. Oasis
Prefer Blur, their song was actually about something. Noel often said he didn't have a clue what his own songs were about which is why i think they were overrated, Blur's dig back "Oasis Quo" fits 'Roll with it' perfectly. Ultimately it was a huge novelty to have two british guitar bands battle it out for number one & if it made record companies sign more bands for a slice of the action then it was good for music :)

MKS unleaked song titles
TSOB 1 woz has main chorus that goes "why should we suffer with no comfort... I can do better, I, I can better I" TSOB could be "The son of (a) bitch" Didn't realise Victory was Sia, makes complete sense, it's the best of what i've heard along with Love in stereo & Boys.

Friday Chart Predictions
I never thought I'd ever lose interest in the uk singles chart but it's happened. Makes me dislike many of the artists that dominate because of streaming. Maybe I'm just getting old but why is every every song on an album allowed to chart, it's got nothing to do with singles if everyone is streaming (most of) the album?? I should read the streaming rules, I know, I know. Hopefully Steps will knock Ed off his perch (very hopefully!)

Hope Justice can make the top 40, it's a great album IMO

Friday Chart Predictions
It's a bit weird that Michael Jackson's "Man in the mirror" was his highest charting song after he died when it only got to #21 previously (during his imperial phase) & Bowie's #24 hit Heroes is looking likely to be his highest posthumous charting song. Was hoping the BBC's article on "Kooks" would have had a bigger impact on it's chart placing. I owe Robbie William's b-side cover of that song for making me buy the "Hunky Dory" album in 1996.

Kylie Minogue to make surprise bid for Christmas No.1
The chimey bit at about 2:10 is the same as Bananarama's I heard a rumour at about the same time frame! Suppose it's allowed to steal off yourself! Just realised my pic below is very pertinant to this thread!

The main version that sold was the live performance from the Brits which was released the night of the Brits. Maybe that's not what you meant but define "single"? lol

OCC Quiz: Who Sold More?
15/20 you really had to think about legacy sales & sales climates (no spoiler there surely?) It's just pure sales isn't it, no streaming malarkey?
