By the way to correct myself looks like Robbie has some promo ( B-) ) on friday after all. (Text Santa )

An exciting week for albums then! I had expected 1D to have a significant lead at this stage of the week, following their X-F performance. Robbie would have this in the bag, but appearently he has no big promo lined up for this week so it should still be very close.
  3. Ooops, I guess I miss-counted 2! I was talking about this curious week stretched between 2013 and 2014, but I got my answer anyway.
  4. Seriously now, how many chart weeks remaining for 2013? Xmas week should be the last of this year. It should be so even if Saturday was January 1st, not to mention a Wednesday January 1st. Regardless what I may believe, did the week following xmas count for the current years chart before? If there is only one week remaining 1D will have to sell at least 220k to get the no1 B-) In this case 1D could even finish 3rd behind Buble's 600k. (there is little chance of that happening though) If for some bizarre reason the week after xmas still counts they still need to do 150k-70k.

I don't like it. (this is the first time I watch her sing mind you). I am not a fan of this song and I don't see any real potential in this woman. She is a good singer but no significant colour and character in her voice. And of course she lacks the rest alltogether... Impossible was definitely a billion times better. In terms of sales I can see her doing 300k.
  6. Saturday night will count for the next week though  Shame he may have to settle for a no2...
  7. -Edit - Great for Robbie, looks like he will have one of the best selling albums of 2013! It has been a long time since his last return to no1. Normally, he should still be no1 or no2 next week too. Is there any promo lined up? (main rivals 1D have the XF B-) )

Not really  (Lily is already gaining on Avicii and she has physicals on her side)
  9. :o Leona She will be no1 in the next update by the looks of it...

I prefer Lily's song among these 3 too. "Hey brother" is a bit of an abomination certainly... "One more sleep" has grown on me (especially after the cute video) and I wouldn't mind it getting a week at no1. (perhaps next one?) It has to be the only original xmas song I can stand that has been released during the last decade or so. Other than that, my xmas playlist is usually a mix of a few classic xmas songs with Carey, Buble and Sinatra and lasts for a single week...
  11. :cheer: Yes please!

No4 when there are 1D, Robbie , Gary and Rich&Ad around? Is she even expected to do better than Eminem's 40k? Perhaps I am underestimating her, but hell I don't even know who she is!
  13. And guess what's the new single! http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/d...d-15th-december 15 december release date! Ι love "Dream a little dream" :cheer:
  14. Album sales are lower than that now. Even if sales increase for xmas, 1D have to be the most frontloaded act around right now. I would be shocked if 1D could shift 200k for 3 weeks with any album. I do not remember the sales pattern of the previous 1D albums (?) but there is every reason to believe it is going to be even steeper this time. (huge 1st day sales, a lot of 'promo song' downloads, higher celeb status and so on). Midnight Memories needs the following sales pattern to have a shot : (220-120-160-160-50) Whereas a more likely (imo) would be: (220-120-100-80-30) Hopefully in bold for no reason. :teresa:
  15. No. Even starting with an impressive first day 100k, 1D sales already have shown their hugely frontloaded pattern. Emeli should do over 700k untill the end of the year. If 1D sell 20k/day already on week 1 they should normaly get down to a 100k-ish 2nd week. Then, they will have 3 weeks to sell the remaining 400k to stand a chance in beating Emeli... It seems at least highly unlikely to happen. Perhaps the YTD will look like: 1. Emeli (750k) 2. Buble (550k - ish) 3. 1D, Robbie, Bruno, Rod (500k- ish) 7. Les Miserables, Eminem (450k- ish) Robbie, 1D, or even Gary Barlow could do something more, but not too much more imo.

Looks like 1D will sell 200k-ish then

Me neither, but then again decline strikes fast and hard. As any mix-matched and manufactured band they will have a short lifespan. Even more so since they mostly appeal to young teenagers and all of them are already adults+. A trasnition of 1D to the grown-up plane looks completely unlikely (impossible imo). I am somehow happy now that there shoud be at least Emeli 700k-ish high on the ytd albums list. One more reason to love her

You think this is catchy? It is the complete opposite, and I can see it dropping down really fast. My opinion is that his X-F exposure may have made him even more disliked instead. And waiting 14 years for a "Let me Go" from the man who wrote "Rule the World" and "Patience" cannot be considered a huge achievement either. You cannot be that surprised Gary is slightly bashed here, he is not the most likable solo artist I can think of. That said, Gary looks like the person who would have chosen his album release date more caregully chart-wise... Appart from Robbie's, Eminem's and 1D's week (and perhaps Gaga as nobody expected sales would be that low) he would be the favourite to get the no1 album. Surprisingly, I am on team Gary for the no1 album next week if Robbie's 2nd week cannot stop 1D. (not that it will do any difference though -_- )

Which also means she should do more than 84% of her debut week sales this week. Her first week was perdictably heavily froantloaded. She could even climb a bit higher than this #8 until Sunday.

He stood no chance against Eminem, Gaga, Robbie or 1D first week sales anyway. I somehow feel (and hope) he will climb to no1 in a quiet week in January or February.

  22. After a few listens here's my opinion on Swings Both Ways: Shine My Shoes One of the catchiest songs in this album, classic Rob's egoist song, surprised this wasn't lead single. Perhaps because it is slighly different than the main climate in this album. I enjoy every part of this song, both music/vocals and lyrics, also both verses and chorus :) Also one of my favourite. Go Gentle I absolutely love the feeling this song emanates. The music and the singing (even the lyrics) during the verses. The chorus is just annoying and badly sung imo. I however love the tune so much that I simply do not care. It replaced 'Haven't met you yet" as my wake up tune and it somehow makes me feelhappy every time I wake up. I found myself whistling the tune several times in public transport. Did a good job as first single because it is representative of the rest of the material in this album imo despite being "less hardcore". I Wanna Be Like You Ft Olly Murs Their voices match, duets are the highlight of this album anyway. I could do without some of the "jungle sound effects" but this song is fun. It took me quite a few listens to realise it but yes it is fun. Was it hinted that this will be the next single or am I wrong? It sounds like a fun, swing version of Bongo Bong. "Be like me Olly! yes I want to be like you Rob" , this is the gist and seems a bit uncomfortable for a pop-rock 39 year old star imo, but the choice is theirs. The verses are once again way better than the chorus. Swing Supreme I couldn't care less. Supreme had some swing elements either way and this new version is not different enough to feature as a new song imo. If Supreme had never surfaced I would say Swing Supreme is brilliant but now I simply couldn't care less. Swings Both Ways Ft Rufus Wainwright Lyrically entertaining. It has this annoying thing that you need to put some effort into understanding who sings what, their voices are almost identical. "After I dump her. Well you can do me" Some brilliant sence of humour about this song, lyrics is its strongest feat. Dream A Little Dream Ft Lily Allen Fell in love with this immediately. There is serious chemistry between Lily and Robbie! This could be a good single choice but this Allen lady is already too much on the radio for now. Soda Pop Ft Michael Buble I expected A LOT from this collaboration. Easily the catchiest song on the album. Fun yes, remarkable no. Soda Pop is what this song really is  The chorus is infectious (despite being repetitive) to a new level, even topping Candy. I so badly wanted something more like "Sway" but at least it is fun and should be entertaining live. Snowblind Sounds like something that also feature in Reality Killed the Video Star or Intensive Care. A sweet ballad, the most sentimental song on this album, and a nice addition to it. Puttin On The Ritz Not outstanding in any way but ok. Little Green Apples Ft Kelly Clarkson Another outstanding duet. Despite being a bit grey-haired lyrically during the verses it has a great chorus (becoming rare nowadays!). A very good cover nevertheless. Minnie The Moocher This could have been a swing Me and My Monkey. Unfortunately the chorus is litteraly unbearable. Where Drunk Cowboys Dare  If I Only Had a Brain Not touching me lyrically in any way... Shame because it has a sweet melody and is beautifully sung. If you can somehow connect to the lyrics I guess you will like it. No One Likes A Fat Popstar The operatic parts ruin the whole thing for me. I had to endure them in order to listen to the rest of the song which is actually good. Perhaps it will be funnier live... Where there's Muck Bah... Starts brilliantly but evolves into a 'prank song' . Too much "kish my ass" for me. Doesn't exactly fit my sense of humour. Wedding Bells Another sweet mellody. Beautifully sung as well. Not my favourite, yet a quite charming song. 16 Tons Sound a bit like Elvis. It is quite short, but flows surprisingly effortlessly! Definitelly not a forgettable song, I like this one a lot. All things considerred this album is FUN. Maybe a bit too fun at times. It also features some more sentimental songs, including two brilliant duets. There are some "kind of annoying" details here an there but it is generally a great effort. I like it.

Was this just said to generate further interest? Considering Robbie is doing better than Jake even in all download sites it shouldn't be that close, right? If they end up back to back this could only mean low sales for Robbie and very high for Jake. I cannot see Robbie doing anything less than 'Take The Crown'.
