iTunes Chart: July 2011 (III)
He is in a good place now (the healthiest I've ever seen him) and this is so unnecessary, but I always thought it would cause a hysteria if he died at the Swing When you're Winning era, when he was admittedly close to death and critics were triumphant about the Albert Hall thing... I've always hoped Amy would somehow find a way to save her life like Robbie did but it looks like girls generally lack either the strenght or the willpower to completely recover. There are so many 'junkie' male rock legends who manage to eventually balance their situation and live long despite taking more than she did. Even Britney Spears (WAY milder case) never actually really recovered and put her life in the right place... OMG please stop killing all music stars! this thread is getting creepy!!!

iTunes Chart: July 2011 (III)
So do I. Of course I already own the album (and it is a great one!) but I downloaded the track B2B again today. I knew she was about to die a horrible death sometime, it was just too soon  . Amy for both no1 album and single!

JTWYA is beautifully sung. It may be a bit boring lyrically but it is a nice song. I like the singing tempo and how it changes from verse to chorus. Bruno's album is ok. Nothing outstanding but better than most mainstream pop albums that's for sure. As for the lyrics, do you blame Bruno for the existance of delusional girls? So all romantic songs are stupid because they sound to good to be true? I don't get this... I'd rather sing JTWYA in public than baby

Looks like Leona haters just found an excuse... I am tired of all this. I wish it would just end here... let the best song win or whatever! I guess negative comments will have died out by the time the song is released. I will refrain from reading about this dispute from now on. Greedy-bast*rd record companies! :P

Robbie solo tour next year?
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI couldn't agree more... we all can wait one more year. Do we know if he has signed with any label though? Or will he release without a label? GOD THAT would be really sth special! :o (if the tour is included in the contract, which I doubt will happen, it will be a huge contract)

I am not fond of such Dj's (although I give them full credit for the hits they produce) but I do not let this affect my judgement. He is young and promising and he doesn't NEED Leona, but he would greatly benefit from the collaboration. Let's not pretend they stole it from him... he SOLD it, or at least he was about to so. It is about MONEY rather than stealing sb's piece of art as some people want this to look like! As far as Avicii's hits are concerned... come on! He took part in some successful projects but having written the whole music for Leona's comeback single (that will be played all around the world regardless if it is good or not) is a different case. In music industry people tend to forget how impotant relationships are. An artist's behaviour is critical. It definitely looks like Leona is kind while Avicii himself has crossed the line with his 'statements'. I wouldn't care if some old greedy manager complained but a young promissing DJ who was about to sell this song anyway shouldn't stir up all this rude mess with his comments. He could use the legal way to demand all he feels/can prove he should get. It takes more than mixing beats to have a carreer. If you lack fair play and smart choices you either get sb who does (a manager?) or wait to be slaughtered down the hill. I am hugely dissapointed by how HE has handled it. Nobody said it was not his song after all.

Robbie does a cover of Jupsy's least fav TT song
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatNo they are not  Especially Shine... it doesn't fit Robbie at all! I could've sung this one better! Human is good but I never liked the original anyway.

Robbie solo tour next year?
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI believe in 'evolution of music'. I love when I see swing music rising again through respectable (at least) remakes of Rob or Buble same way I loved how Taylor Swift made a 'renewed' version of country music popular to countries and generations it didn't appeal to. (let's face it SOME of the classics need an update so that younger peolpe can enjoy them too, they sound outdated and rusty) It is just boring to only listen to the pop-dance genre all the time nowadays, so I love any kind of quality music from different genres. And I honesly haven't seen anyone performing the classic swing songs better than Robbie in the past few years. He just has the groove, the intonation... the character required to. But yes, Buble has a WAY better jazz/swing voice. I love to listen to his versions on the radio but I somewhow feel he lacks the required character (both vocaly and on stage).

I believe Avici's claim may have some truth in it. Perhaps the deal was not completely set yet Syco hasted to release this to meet the promo plan for Leona's new album. But the fact that he sent this to Syco to write lyrics for Leona on it means that he was down with the idea anyway. Is he trying to say he somehow changed his mind before the whole deal was closed and he wanted it back for himself? Because that is really unprofessional when you are collaborating with a branch of SONY! I am convinced he just does it for publiSHITy! And it is so pathetic and stupid imo because Penguin would never become a hit anywhere outside his consoles and he knows it, but now it had a chance of becoming well known to people he would never get a chance with + he will get his share of the money. I am pretty sure they would be played back to back at radio shows or TV shows or even clubs and that would be a super boost for is career. After all they didn't steal it, he is credited for making the mix anyway. Most DJ's would kill to feature in Leona's first single no doubt!

Robbie solo tour next year?
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatAre there people who actually go to a live concert to watch a singer because of his banter and humour? I had the feeling that an overdose of those is what may be annoying people about him... (despite the fact I love it) Camel and Scotch was a bit too light for Robbie don't you think? Seriously, do you feel smocking and drinking is his weak point ? So Rob's 20 min humour was enough to convert you? He must be a real charmer (or somekind of mentalist) Would you even sing Angels at the end?

Robbie solo tour next year?
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatIt fits... Robbie should normally have the first single out around the time the XF live is on (like Shame and Bodies) in early October possibly... There will definitely be a live album for Progress (rumor has it it was all filmed in Wembley and is titled 'at the edge of forever' ) and I quess they will release it in November like Circus live since it has done so well. But that all should be extra hype for Robbie's new singe and album because he was part of Progress both album and tour. There won't be any new TT songs so he won't be on the verge of being overplayed at the time. It sounds a healthy plan. If Robbie's intention is to do a big worldwide tour I can only expect the forthcoming album will be VERY successful. It is too soon to say that but has he ever released a bad album? No. Which leads me to the question, has he finished recording the new album? (I BET he hasn't  )

iTunes Chart: July 2011 (II)
I absolutely love 'Set fire to the rain'. I don't think she really stands a chance to get much higher than 11 but the song is beautiful. I wish 'Rolling in the Deep' was out a little sooner or later than 'Grenade'. It SO deserved to get to no1! I hope we get to see a bit more of Adelle at this video. She must be getting more comfortable after all this success. I definitely don't want her dancing or behaving like a popstar but I want her to have a more powerful role.

Just dropped by to watch this on youtube (and strip a good quality mp3  ) and I noticed there is a battle going on! Why did the 'Avicii trolls' decide to challenge Leona? I don't get this... is it about copyrights? Copyrights are supposed to be legal rights! If anyone indeed has rights on this song he COULD have stopped the release if he wanted to. But it ain't happening so Syco MUST have the right to release this as Leona's single. Am I missing sth?
-
Stars that have turned their careers around.
I know what you are talking about. I just see it more generally: LTAL was a huge success + it was Robbie's first album = he was successful since his debut solo album. Even in numbers the album flopped for only about 2 months... But if we split album eras into two or more pieces I guess you are right it was a turn around.
-
What will Adeles '21' sell by the end of the year?
Yes they did and it was a horrible re-release! Didn't Adelle say that she hates re-releases and there won't be one for 21? I am about to eventually buy a legal copy of 21... or should hold on and wait for the re-release?

Leona Lewis & Avicii - Collide - Where will it chart?
I do not know many people that could possible outsing Leona, and Fergie is definitely not one of them. MMHW was just a *better* (?) song coming from a huge era from the BEPs. Collide is a grower but it is still not good enough to be 1st single of the 'new-Leona' era. So much has been said about her wanting to sing uptempo but is this really it? If you strip out the music it could be as low-tempo as Run (actually even slower). All will depend on her promotion now. I guess she will get lots of airplay and perhaps lot of video play if the video is surprisingly good. When does the XF live premier? Perhaps they'll get her a slot on the first week. I do not like Pixie's song at all... Perhaps somebody else will eventually steal the show.

Stars that have turned their careers around.
But had his career started by that time? It was his first solo album and it took Angels to start selling big but it was not much of a 'turnaround' really. It was his first era and it turned out to be succesful. It may be special for him but it has really happened to alot of artists (I mean to start selling albums after the second or third consecutive single). As much as I would like Mariah to make a strong comeback it looks like she doesn't have much potential left outside the US. She is one of the most succesful females of all time but she is 'old news' now. Memoirs was a good album (also characteristic of Mariah's style) but it flopped everywhere outside the US (perhaps even in the US). Obsessed was a strong mainstream single but it didn't manage to chart high anywhere. (even in the US it must have gotten only as high as 8 or 9). As for the rest of her singles I doubt non-fans even know they existed. I don't know how a new Mariah album would change the situation. Gary Barlow? He drowned as a solo artist but Take That (even if he played the most important role) are not Gary and they never flopped. They left when they were top and they came back on top once more (and will probably leave at the top of their game in the coming years). There has not been any twist at TT success imo. They have always been more or less successful.

Cancelled Copenhagen Show
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatAlthough as I've said I cannot blame TT for that decision I feel sorry for all these people who wanted to see TT&Robbie live. Let's face it TT, and even Robbie solo (who I assume most people would gather for) have neglected European fans one way or another. It is terrible how labels and artists tend to care about big markets only nowadays. Robbie for example despite being huge everywhere -N.America has not done any proper concert anywhere outside the UK during the last years. He just dropped to Germany to do a 'secret' concert same way he did in Australia. It is no wonder his popularity outside UK and Germany is not what it once was anymore. Let's hope now he's got his mojo back he will give all these non-English fans what they deserve.

Three Musketeers new theme song
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatEven given the low sales I doubt it will get top 20, not to mention it won't sell 50k total! (given there won't be any promo, as they will be on tour perhaps it won't even enter the charts at all  )

Three Musketeers new theme song
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI honestly don't think anyone should (or would) leave after Robbie's solo because a) the've paid for the whole thing b ) it was GOOD! c) it included Robbie I told you everyone was a bit focused on Robbie even when he was not singing (and he gave them the excuse I guess, he was coming up with things every now and then) but I don't think the crowd was disappointed in any way or the rest 4 saw sth they didn't expect... We all knew this would happen. But if Robbie was not at the show... well things would change! People would have fun either way but I don't know if Howard, Gary, Mark and Jason would. Noboby likes to be booed on stage, especially when they knew that might happen and did nothing to stop it. Imagine what the Sun would write the following day. Have you been to a show where the 'big name' , the one most people came for does not show up? Well I have and it was kind of nasty. They booed everyone until the last act (it was a festival) during which they started singing other songs (of the missing act of course) over the singer's voice and finally stormed out of the stadium after saying some REALLY rude things (alltogether). I have to admit I didn't know the last act was missing until it was too late, so I booed as well

Three Musketeers new theme song
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatWere they really that afraid they were going to get booed? I think they didn't want to take the risk... I don't blame them to be fair. It would ruin their image much more than a cancelled show does. I think canceling was the right thing to do. ... After all Robbie had a solo part and was singing at about half of the TT5 songs... I doubt they had a playback to use over his voice but even if they had it would be ridiculous. As for the pet shop boys, they were 'pleasant' but I don't think the remaining PSB fans would ever pay to watch them as a support act so lets dump this excuse. I didn't like the fact that PSB were a support act at all. They are not big or relevant anymore (and I do not like them) but they have been huge in the past they do not deserve to be anyones support act.

Three Musketeers new theme song
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatUnsurprisingly it is worse than Shame. Shame has some nice lyrics, much better vocals and much better music. Also Shame did have sth to say at the time it was written, when the reunion took place. Not to mention the video of Shame is WAY catchier than that. The only thing I like about this single is the video. It has a great concept but it is just TOO dull and grey. Should have added some stardust here and there. Not that it really matters; the song isn't going anywhere with or without a video. Anyway, I feel TT5 writting a song for the musketeers film is hilarious. I can't stop imagining them in the suitable uniforms with 'French' noses fencing around apologizing to each other like real gentlemen, bowing, then fencing and so on. 'No Mr Barlow, for the 100th time you are by far the best singer' 'But please amazing Mr Williams you are such a great entertainer, it is zuch a pleasure to have you back' 'Oh it is my honest pleasure Mr charming Barlow, you are most kind to say that' 'Not as kind and charming as you are when you are in your sweet rabbit pyjamas Mr Williams' THAT would be a killer video      :P

Leona Lewis & Avicii - Collide - Where will it chart?
Definitely not instant... I do not know if it will grow on me in the future but for the time being it sounds so cheap and not Leona... Her vocals somehow don't fit. I feel she is oversinging a song that would never see the light of day if it was wasn't Leona singing. And it is not dancey either! What are they trying to accomplish with a such song is beyond my imagination. It is different to what she's done before but if you change the music then it may sound familiar. Ballad singing over a (not great) dance tempo? 'Cruuuuush' sounds painful after the 100th time and 'we can colide' finshes the chorus too soon. It should end up within top 5, but it is imo her worst single to date. I am hugely dsappointed... I hope it will sound different when I listen to it tomorrow.
