  1. :o Seriously? I am in shock.
  2. Well , I can assure you he was great (he was actually better than any other video I've seen online untill now). Looks like he chills out when he is out of England, I have no other explanation. And he definitely has is mojo back :cheer: BTW the Italian audience (I suppose most of them were from Italy) LOVES Robbie to an extend I didn't expect. I thought I could be the only one knowing the lyrics... The truth is the whole show was great (TT4 not as good as I would have wanted them to) but every little stupid thing Robbie did (even while the rest were singing) the crowd went 'Yeahhh'. I think they should use some stuff from SS in the live DVD. Does he have any concerts in Germany? I think this is where he usually performs the best. San Siro was better fitted for me, still I am going to watch the 'German' show on youtube. Such a shame TT have released that stupid song... it is not going to get them any help in the charts or sales anyway. Still a long time until Candy, so I have to look forward to sth... perhaps Leona :funky:
  3. Won't miss this :). Hope it is good enough for all this time we waited! :cheer:
  4. My favourite too. This has better be good! :yahoo:

  7. New terrible single coming soon   :puke2:
  8.   I have to agree here. People seem to take the showbiz too serious... The higest note you can hit is more important than the highest grade of your degree nowadays! I won't blame Gary for that, it was the National Singing Competition well before his arrival. But now I came to to think of it, he is not the TV star-person but he could be the elitist-opportunist, cynical, strict judge. Perhaps he fits after all, you need one of those at talent shows!!! As for Progressed I really hope there won't be a second single. (I am 90% sure there won't be) However Progress Live will definitely be something worth buying . (when it shows up) Let's move on to Robbie's new album now :yahoo:
  9. I am not sure what you mean here (please xplain) or how I should take this  :puke2: /  /  I thought Gary was co-witting some of the baselines... but this sounds like more. I am not sure if that's what you mean but that would be disappointing... Gary's solo work has been 'rabbits'.
  10. 1) I'll tell you again Robbie is the kind of person that is overenthusiastic; you shouldn't take him too serious sometimes. Didn't Robbie know about Gary's great vocal talent when he was bashing him over and over some years ago? Robbie says Gary is his boss... but well when Gary was the boss Robbie left the band ;) And Mark Owen said they woudn't have done Progress without Robbie not to mention thanking him in tears during the Brits (as well as said it is great to have two huge voices in the band). They are all friends now thats why they are all too good at each other (in a ridiculous way sometimes). You do not believe Robbie feels interior to Gary in any way really, do you? If he did he would have never returned to the band I can assure you. From the fab5 it is Robbie who is the sentimental-mental one and Gary who is the 'clockwork' one (THAT was really a gentle way of saying it  ) 2) As for the so called outstanding Gary's vocal talent hold your horses. He is more accurate than Robbie but he is no Mariah Carrey, no Leona Lewis (a million love songs rings any bells? ), even no Adelle. I know these are women but if you only care about vocal range and accuracy there are much more impressive singers than Gary (and LOTS of them). Plus I am pretty sure you could find a lot of weak singing from Gary around the BW era online. Now I come to think of it is it me or has Robbie actually sung more difficult songs than Gary? I mean Come Undone (could be the toughest one), I will Talk and Hollywood will Listen, Love Somebody, Tripping and there are even more... As a whole I think Robbie's repertoire is a difficult one. Even his progress solo setlist is a tough one. He pulls out a good show but yes the singing is frequently not flawless.
  11. To put this to some perspective vocal talent imo refers to the notes a person can hit. If he could hit them yesterday and does hit them again next week but he didn't today it has nothing to do with vocal talent. He has these notes we all know it and his recordings are always live-recordings not adjusted ones so that he can sing at the keys accurately. Did you listen to him singing the flood live the past months at all these shows? At some of them he actually outsang Gary you have to admit this. It has nothing to do with vocal talent really but with how vocaly- fit is the singer at the time and how dedicated he is to singing during the show. And yes Robbie is not the fittest singer (don't need to xplain why) and he is a showman -he doesn't always follow the track (and he has always been that way with his ups and downs). He hasn't lost his voice , he always had a quite correct (not perfectly) but HUGELY interesting voice. Hiting the keys and notes properly doen't make you a great singer, it is more of the colour, metal and character of your voice and he is great in that. As for Gary he is 100% more accurate and does have an interesting voice (though not as much as Robbie's imo) but he is fit and 100% dedicated to singing. Plus, for the record Gary doesn't sing live-live some song of Progress (Kidz, Love Love...) same way the were not live-recordings but adjusted even in the album. It is easy to tell ;) .
  12. I don't have any evidence.... but the hint of the aformentioned three are not solid evidence either. It is just my predicion... But if Robbie has a solo album on board do you really think they can also do a TT5 one? It is awkward isn't it? And Gary will be on that show as well... And Robbie's best thing was breaking out of TT for 15 years. Now it is reuiniting with them. And in the future it will be continuing his solo carreer ''happy and more accomplished as a person and having back his 5 friends''. Remember his best album of his carrer is always his current one ;) . This is the way his mind works.
  13. The person who wrote this article loves Robbie to bits... why would he imply anything about his vocal talents? <_< Reunion or not people still have their preferences don't they? ''Greatest day is a decent pop miracle while Robbie's solo set are songs that were somehow-sometime hits and now irrelevant and boring''. ''Robbie's comeback offered only drama and fame to the band, because obviously musically the whole progress thing is the normal followup of BW and the Circus and completely distant to Robbie's style , a thing only the accomplished piano-Gary would write''... ''Desent Greatest day leads to 'oh what a beast oh what a man' , 'through talking head thak talk liberties the monkeys learnt to build maschines' , 'we'll get a five minute warning for divine intervention' doesn't it? And the desent Greatest day strings lead to the Kidz stombing and Underground machine electric guitar don't they?'' 'Of couse they do', said old auntie Jo before taking the lunatic pill and going to sleep. 'And don't forget to feed the cows, they are afraid of cars and won't give us any eggs to sell at Monday's makret!'
  14. I seriously doubt any of this will happen... They definitely won't be repeating themselves! I don't think they will record more as a 5-piece (as a matter of fact I doubt Robbie was even present during Progressed) and I also think progress will be their 5-piece tour. I think Robbie will have a solo album out around late Autum and Progress-live should follow at Xmas. Perhaps TT will make a final album (even as four this time and sth more like BW?) in 2012/2013 and Robbie will make a comeback at 2014 or so... But who knows what the future has in store for us
  15. I like Adelle. She is talented. And 21 is a well rounded album as a whole to be fair. But yes there is too much hype around her and that makes her a bit annoying at the time. Adelle breaking the a record and Adelle breaking the b record, is she going to have one of the best selling albums ever in the UK? and blah blah blah... People should really relax. She is talented but very fresh to the industry and young. I hope she has a lot more to show us in the coming years but I hate it when people pretend we found the English Mariah Carey (in terms of success and talent) or the 'ambassador of high standards UK music in the rest of the world' just because 21 is doing great in the US... Lets hope she will be grand one day but SHE IS NOT YET, not at her 21 because of a hugely succesful album that is pushing her previous album (which did well at its time) to the top together with it...
  16. I meant the record for the most weeks at no1 for a TT album! As for next week: I think TT and Adelle should both sell about 40k and Gaga about 30k...
  17. 7 weeks at no1 for Progress/ed then it must be the record of the band right? (it is 50/50 for next week: Either Adelle will replace them at no1 or they will get an 8th week)

They must have sold (2,10 to 2,2)m in the UK ;) ...unless they sold 600k this week

 This should be a mistake right? (or could this mean worldwide?)
  20. I downloaded (illegally obviously) the album last week but you really shouldn't bother... (I deleted it after I listened to it anyway) For die-hard TT fans there my be 2 songs they want to listen to: Love Love (but they probably already have this) and Don't say Goodbye Everyone else should just pass... Perhaps the fact that Robbie doesn't sing a lot / at all in this is the reason TT fans like Progressed
  21. I finally found some time to give Progressed a try (it required some effort nevertheless) and I wanted to share my honest thoughts with you: When we were young: could be a eurovision song (and a bad one too) musically boring, lyrically stupid also sung in a boring way 0/5 Man: too much talk of the universe again :puke2: Has some ok parts but as a whole it is bad from every point of view. I cannot see a single strong point or reason for including such a song really 1/5 Love Love: Gary sounds a bit strangled throughout the song but it is uptempo and fun. Lyrically, it just fails to amuse me  3.5/5 The day the work is done: Just pathetic singing from Owen again :puke2: And the same strangled singing from Gary :puke2: 'rejoice the day, the day the work is done' some terrible lyrics here almost all over the song. The tempo, beat and music are good but the rest are... τρισάθλεια 2/5 Beautiful: Gary should really do sth with his new manly voice :P it is unbearable... The song is SO (predictably) insignificant, I had to fastforward the half of it in desperate hope it would somehow change 1/5 Don't say goodbye: Not as bad as the rest but still sounds like demo to me. Has some bad and some good parts lyrically and vocally... 3/5 Aliens: The title was enough to make me hate this, and that was accurate instict wasn't it. UNBEARABLE 0/5 Wonderful World: Enough said about this terrible set of songs :puke2: 0/5 Utterly disappointing after a very good album. It should have been called leftovers rather than PROGRESSED... It is just not fair... the whole era worked great for them and the tour is great! Regardless the quality I expect it should spend 1-3 weeks at no1 and add about 300.000 to the sales of Progress I cannot say I am devastated though, a new Robbie solo album comming already in 2011 is fantastic!!!
  22. Of course it will. Progressed should easily sell 100k next week. If you add this to the 2,050,000 total of Progress it will already overtake the Circus (2,150,000) And it definitely deserves to Perhaps it could add a few no1 weeks to those of the X-mas sales... Progress should be already ahead of the Circus but how many weeks was Beautiful World no1 for?
  23. Love the idea.... not sure about the LENNON and McCARTNEY thing; still I don't see anyway Gary could have a major impact on how Robbie's songs sound. Most of the songs in Progress sound like Robbie, and Heart and I as well as Shame (like it or not) sound like Robbie 100%. This is the key here imo: "Gary is kind of unemotional about stuff. I'm emotional about stuff. He's solid. I'm fickle. He gets stuff done, I don't." Old news but it is the truth! Perhaps we should be slightly thankful to Gary for bossing over Robbie so that the album doesn't take a random 4 years to finish!
  24. Good marketing here, price was sharply reduced this week resulting to a no16 leap for Progress on the album chart. Sales of Progress will be killed anyway when Progressed will come out after two weeks. :cheer: Looks like the 5 have built nice momentun now. Progressed (together with the big tour) should help the album sell about 300-500k more copies and perhaps 100k more around xmas when the live album should be released. My 3 million total predicion looks more realistic (yet tough to reach) now that 2,5 millions before the end of 2011 sounds possible. I've notice that all songs from progress that were used in the tour have shot up on itunes, so it is the tour that is making the difference now. (for example Love Love #35 + The Flood , Rule the World , Kidz , Happy Now all top 200)

I love Rihanna's ballads too. And CKB is nice! I am glad it is doing well!
