    1) The video is even worse than the song! 2) Terrible dancing really! Why was he instructed to do all these moves? It looks more like a parody of a video   3) How old is he? Most guys at his age want to look older but he looks like 12y.o.! A cool outfit cannot save him! It was like a school amateur musical (or parade LOL) of lightheaded 12 y.o. kids... 4)I have nothing against Joe but Olly's song (I am not a fan either) was 100 times better.
  2. I don't get it... Are all these songs new? I thought it would just be Heart&I + Shame... THATS GOOD NEWS

I expect it will be an easy no1 if it is not against something really huge. (Winehouse 1st single? TT first single? Duffy? etc). I do not like the song but I don't like Cheryl too. This is Nelly Furtado-like... FFTL was better (still not good enough) but it is a good era for her I expect this to do well. Sadly, I'll vote for no1.

+1 for me! Hope it goes all the way to the top. (although I know it won't) Taylor Sweet isn't she?

 Mika? Anyway I do not like the song at all (so electronically modified that sucks even worse) but I wouldn't expect anything less than no1 (only if shame becomes really huge but I really doubt that). The KOL song is better but not much likely to make a big impact it has nothing on their 2 heavy hits and it is not catchy at all. How the hell could Joe's management choose this song as a first single anyway? Isn't it a a cover of DonkeyBoy's version? They cannot afford to write songs for the winners and they get to no1 either way so they have decided to do only clones and covers
  6. OMG Simon Cowell? :arrr: I hope the answered that for fun otherwise this island is a DIRE place to live... I should go back to Greece asap!
  7. God, Rob's voice was terribly rough. And I just realised Shame is very tough to sing live, both struggled to follow the tune! Robbie doesn't seem tired or out of breath but he seems out of... voice! I wish he could take care of his throat from time to time. Shame has grown on me but not enough to believe it is a really good song. And yes I too believe their voices blend well but the duet was not suitable for the occasion (a stupid occasion imo anyway <_< ). People will start to get tired of it now with all the radio and fuzz. I guess it will have one or two weeks of impressive sales and will then drop like a stone. For some reasons chart-people have started to believe it won't get to no1.(wishful thinking I'd say but mirrors the fact it has started to get dull) 30 sec of 'Heart and I' were enough to convince me it is better than 'shame' :o (such a shame what a shame pitiful shame real shame) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcewhDDhrG8 Edit: Is it just me or Rob's 'entertaining' still makes Gary feel awkward after all these years... he just stands there and smiles in a shy way, totally speechless...

Shame is definitelyy the no1 in 4th Oct. releases. The following week could be the most interesting week though. Shame's 2nd week, Joe's 1st week (he will be no1 90%), Pixie with XF, KOL , Bubble are all strong contenders. But the rest from the list could all be top 20 as well. It will be a 'refreshing' week for sure a lot of new entries!

I think it will be no1 LP no2 Script. I believe Linking Park still have a huge fanbase even if they are not fresh anymore. Although I have not heard much from their album yet it is always nice to have sth more alternative topping the charts. I expect Linkin Park will sell faster than the script ,however if the script have a better album and better singles (? I doubt it) they may outsell LP in the long run. What to say about hybrid theory then? :D (propably a million times better quality anyway!) History-wise there is no comparison, but it is all about their current status.
  10. This is a thought but I am not sure this is anything more than it... Do we have any kind of proof no1s fall down faster after being knocked down because of it? After all they were knocked down which means they have already started falling (faster than they were when they were leading obviously). And again there are so many factors speeding songs up and down I do not believe pop bars are detailed or flexible enough to show any kind of such weak effects so that we can even test this theory even if we could (and we can't) isolate the very effect (if any). Or your suggestion follows the rule: every little piece of extra advertisement contributes to few extra sales? (?)
  11. It is released in the UK next week right? (not much likely to make an impact anyway, never heard it on UK radio)
  12. XF-related songs always get a boost but the XF usually ruins 3-5 weeks + any charity or XMAS singles per year. It is not that huge. The club is alive was a terrible no1 and Jedward a terrible no2 but for me there are a lot of terrible songs ruining the charts that have nothing to do with XF. I believe Olly's song is better than the singles released by Joe Alex or JLS so far. Leona was standing out from everyone (it was admittedly the peak of the XF mania) so I don't put her in the comparison. Also I believe Olly's song is a little better than Teenage Dream so I don't care who gets the no1 spot (it is going to be close anyway) But then again Taio's Dynamite (or YBC Americano) is worse than both songs and is already a no1 (although nobody seems to complain somehow and he is male too ;) ) thats why I say it is not always the XF that ruins the charts. The charity and christmas releases are more annoying because they have xtremely strong sales! The most annoying chart story actually came from SuBo also reality TV related but not XF. I will vote for yes anyway...
  13. I have to admit Olly's song is the best single from the last two generations of XF imo... It is cool and fun, nice melody (kind of bubblegum lyrics though).
  14. Is the song released outside the UK already ? My itunes insits it it already charting. (Germany has always been extremely sweet to Robbie anyway  ) What if the song is an airplay killer anyway? Of course it doesn't make it 'bohemian rhapsody' at all. Don't treat this like it is something unexpected or alien we always have hyped acts. Lady Gaga just needs to put on a few beer cans (not to mention Subo singing for the pope). I think there is actually something that can be said in defence of the song: it is different to the countless rnb/dance/rap songs that storm the radio! I have to agree with Bert on the fanbase though. Robbie (and TT of course) have a dedicated(?) fanbase. Still some songs outperform the rest and it is not always the best ones. Nowadays promotion and hypes do the trick (it has to do with quality as well).. or does any of you think SuBo suddenly gained millions of worldwide fans  :puke2: :teresa: I don't really believe there could be a campaign against this song. What for? Some people believe this song could be the worst no1 of the year (cool down it is not even close!) others believe it is a masterpiece (they are really few) and others that the <<'still' famous Robbie is dueting with the hugely successful lead singer of TT (begging for forgiveness)>>. Whatever! It is common sense they are all wrong!

J's are a nice bet on the hate chart! :teresa:
  16. I won't buy this either. What's the point when I am going to buy Robbie's GH one week later anyway? Shame is an average song compared to what Gary and Robbie have produced in the recent past. I believe it is actually the worst (one of the worst if we include some b-sides) song featured in the GH. It has Radio-Hit written all over it though, so it could end up no1 on the ytd airplay chart. It will hit no1 (I would say for one week because the album release the week after that may kill the single sales) on the sales chart too. The truth is it IS a grower but fans were expecting more (eager to boo the reunion if it didn't happen) and people who are not fans are annoyed (understandable) because of the huge hype behind the song regardless the quality. This is not fresh news: remember the Gaga hype? remember the XF hype? now we have the reunion hype! +I have to agree with everything zeus said. Robbie doesn't need TT and they don't need him. However, that never stopped them before! They will all enjoy the extra money and hype as long as it lasts. (1 year). Won't do any good to Robbie's fanbase outside the UK thats for sure! Lol at the subtitle of the poll anyway
  17. But when you talk about charting success it never has to do with the very song but with the competition. A poor song could propel forth due to lack of competition. This song will rise because of the hype anyway. I still believe this song beats most competition -although it is not the crown jewel (LOL) of either writer- and therefore deserves to do well. However, I am tempted to curse this to flop if we consider Come Undone went nowhere near the top spot. And I still find the video boring... but I expected that. RTW and Patience were great songs but the videos s*cked. Not to mention Supreme! (Or morning sun which is more recent!).. You seriously liked the video of She's Madonna? OMG you are definitely a huge fan of Robbie then!
  18. You got it wrong! It is an average effort from BOTH! Robbie can write 1000 times better lyrics than that and Gary can write real music! (in this effort I believe the lyrics are better than the music but it makes no difference really there can be great songs with poor melody it is not the melody that makes this song a 7- instead of a 10!). When I said RKTVS had rich orchestra chords we all know Robbie didn't write them! Rob has a creative and fresh music taste but he cannot write much music on his own anyway. Perhaps it is actualy a bit more of Rob's fault because the song is in his SOLO album so his is more responsible for the result. And if I have to blame sb for the boring video it will be Rob once again it is HIS promo single of his GH album. I am not implying Gary ruined Rob's work in any way (because he didn't). After all it was Rob's decision to have him on board.
  19. I think I've made up my mind now. The lyrics are very good (I rarely complain of Rob's lyrics anyway). The melody is warm but... not quite a melody. The start looks like a rip-off to me but the rest has a poor melody nothing like the orchestra strings of RKTVS. If Gary wrote the music and Rob the lyrics (which was what we all expected to happen) I have to say Gary has written much better stuff. The video is a bit(lot) boring for my taste but all TT and a lot of Rob's videos have been boring anyway. I don't know if it will grow on me but as a song I feel it is worse than RTW , Patience , Bodies or Morning Sun. And it is annoying how the last two were badly received and this will be commented as a masterpiece. Anyway it is not a bad song, much better than most songs out there (the competition) so it deserves to do well. I believe that it is NOT suitable for a promo single though; it is warm with nice lyrics but it is not instant and not sparkling at all. (well I thought Bodies was but the general public didn't agree!) It will definitely not help the GH anywhere outside the UK. Of course it is the GH of Europe's biggest popstar of the decade and it will be certified all around but it could have done much better with something catchier. I don't know why this song could crack the US because I never understood why his great ones didn't. If TT want to test the transatlantic waters they should but they will be really cold! Mediteranean waters are pretty cold for them too perhaps they should go for Europe first. I am wondering, will 'The Flood' will be upbeat-pop or is the 'new' TT album actually a fake-classic Beatles wanabe? If I had to rate (I may change my mind later) I'd say 7/10
  20. Don't know what to make of it yet but it is not bad at all. The subject was like what we all expected and the video is boring for almost 3/4.3 minitues... Their voices match and it is a nice song perhaps after a few more listens I will know what to make of it. On my first listen it looked like a great song for UK radio and public but kind of a miss for Europe though. Edit: When they started to take shirts off I was afraid it would be too much of Brokeback mountain! :P

Well Rob&Gary could do the trick but it is almost impossible Pixie will. I know we don't know the quality of Joe's single but in this case it DOES NOT matter. His first week sales are bound to be very strong and frontloaded as with every XF winner. Will he do a bleeding love score? Definitely not! Something like bad boys? Not much likely but who knows... Anyway with strong sales of 80-120k I doubt Pixie could be any competition to him. Honestly I am not blown away by Joe's voice. It sounds to me a bit like out of tune opera sometimes and his intonation is... annoying but that's just my opinion I guess. After the peak of XF with Leona people may expect more from the show than what is really possible. I doubt there are going to be anymore winners with international success, great album sales and songs toping US charts. I have nothing against Joe, if his song is better than Pixie's fair play to him but this is still 'a little' subjective.

I know but the odds are against him this time ;) Joe has already 'suffered' to get to no1 with the climb :D :P and there is little chance he will even come close to Leona or Alexandra. I think I will be happy to see them deny the XF no1 single (and album later on) anyway

Isn't it a bit late for Taylor? Robbie and Gary will sing SHAME ;) if they are on. Simon has been triumphant for persuading TT&Robbie to perform on the show. He will either have Gary& Robbie on the first week and then all TT later this season or he will save all 5 for christmas (not going to help Rob's GH this way I doubt he would agree). Wouldn't both scenarios put them against the XF winners though?
