Isn't it too soon for a new promo single for the next album ? She should have waited a bit more imo before releasing a new single. There is not much antinticipation for it now. Could it be that her label are not too much into her anyway? Strong promo singles are usually released in autum... --> I don't like the song but I didn't like her previous ones either, so this shouldn't be unsettling for Alex fans. Still we all now what happens to 'freshmen' (especially xf winners) in the second album era, so the charting/sales shouldn't shock anyone anymore. I'll vote for top5

I think that he completely changed the lyrics and he changed some of the baseline too compared to what I had seen in a UTube video... Especially this part in the chorus: ''is to-look-good-naked-hope-that-someone-can-take it , god save me rejection from my reflection I want perfection '' Has a strange cut in the melody and the tempo... the syllables are more than what would symetrically fit in there too... It sounded strange at first but I think I really liked it after a few more repeats! This 'out of tempo singing' was really unique and creative I think. I don't see anything wrong 'lyrically' (-->the meaning) with Bodies, I feel it is obscure and is open to various interpretation but that's typical with Robbie's songs and an element I really like! Do you believe that's sb elses lyrics? Sounds like typicaly Robbie to me! (bears a little resemblence to come undone in the meaning too)

Really really badly!!! I don't think there could be any kind of comparison anyway :) I do not like Jls and perhaps I am not the best one to speak for their songs, still I feel: OS>EIN>BA>>>>>CiA . It is by far the worst one... from every point of view. If their fanbase is still eager to buy it may hit top10. (I hope even fans can see which song of their favorite artists is better than the other and buy the best one, so that they at least know which is the right direction and what they should produce in the future) I also believe I kissed a girl was far better and catchy than California... There is too much fuss about it (+it is selling really well) and I don't see why. :huh: And to those who believe football songs will fall... it seems more likely that England will qualify in a 'thriller' way so I expect sales will increase instead! (I love the team, hate the songs though! :puke2: )

I have to agree with most comments. (especialy with the lOOng one) When I said Rob could be the best lyricist around, I meant that he is one of the few best. The truth is that it is difficult to compare a musically active 36 year old lyricist with musically passive legend oldies. These guys still live but their brilliant work (the songs you are comparing with Rob's) belong to the past and they are well beyond the time when they would write them. In other words I say he could be the best of his generation. Really good lyricists are easy to notice if you try to detect quallity features in their work. However when it comes to choosing who is THE best it becomes subjective. Personally I love songs with political meanings but I feel an esoteric song, which ventures into a personality and a way of living, deeper into the soul or the imagination and is open ended thus having various levels of interpretation is more artistic. However some people may find it easier to connect with more staightforward and 'sharp' lyrics and meanings (feel for example). There are some subjects such as love, hope, friendship ,hatred ,death ,joy, anger that ring a bell to everone's heart and mind but each person has his own personality and experience in life and therefore likes a different subject in lyrics. As a person I am artistic, a little controversial and A LOT self-exploring myself so I do have additional reasons to like his lyrics. Anyway a lot (most) of people don't bother going deep to the lyrics and just want something entertaining (I myself like that kind of music too) but it is still annoying that Bodies for example was recieved as a craizy song with poor lyrics and no meaning at all and at the same time so many trash songs were considered elegant. Somebody should tell those blonde reviewers: "if you don't get the meaning of a song it doesn't neccessary mean there isn't any"! I also agree with ziggy about RKTVS. He talks a lot about himself. You didn't mention bodies and last days of disco though.

I've written lyrics before but I'd rather not guess this time... Shame could be brilliant or terrible... and NOBODY can predict Rob's lyrics, we know that for sure. If he wrote this song 10 years ago for Gary it would definitely go like: SHAME SHAME SHAME LAME LAME LAME YOU ARE STILL THE SAME YOU ARE ALL SO LAME (where is the chorus? no chorus? d***head) :P :wacko: :P :wacko: :P Well I don't fancy Gary's lyrics but in my book Rob could be the best lyricist of our times (although sadly enough nobody seems to notice) IaOoC is no13 at the preorder chart bt the way. (However I know it takes 5-6 preordered copies to chart as high at this season :unsure: )

I can see what you mean about madonna (it was also done on purpose to fire all this conversation Madonna-Gaga) but this is unique. It is a REALLY well thought video and has some intense messages (passifism, gender roles, church power... also sadism, masochism,violence) and all in the most modern (although not deep) way! +It is a superproduction! I don't like the song but I have to admit the video is one of the best in the video clip history(some parts of it are better than others as always). She has already sold a lot of albums but it is not a highly competitive era so another top3, I will vote for no1 Alexandro :no1:

Electronic music is welcome but with Gary on board... it will be a ballad, an emotional one talking about friendship perhaps. :rofl: It looks as if they believe A LOT in it though. The whole label thing is confusing, perhaps they'll go for the american market as well. I don't share the excitement however, not until I listen to the song at least. A double disc set is expensive and difficult to promote and sell on the back of 1 or 2 new songs. And new markets won't fall in love all of a sudden with Rob's old stuff! Isn't it too soon to announce an October release though? This also puts an end to the speculation of a 4th single from RKTVS doesn't it?

I think that all these songs were big hits but they won't be classics... The truth is we don't get to have many 'new' classics during the last decade. Especialy with pop/dance songs that are super trendy now but then sth else fresh comes and outshines them. Lady Gaga: Bad Romance/ Poker Face? NO WAY! I gotta feeling? I am not sure but it will propably wear off after a year or so... Apologize, 4 minitues, I kissed a girl... well I think people don't care about these already I think that more artistic songs or Rock/Band songs are more suitable for this: Viva la vida, Sex on Fire etc.. None of these seems to be able to be a CLASSIC like the oldies we listen to though... Chasing cars (which I really like!) seems most possible know. I think some songs may become classics because of the artists 'classic status'. Robbie, Take That, Coldplay for example have been on top for ages, so they tend to remind us of their 'classic' songs and etch them in our minds. (just to mention a few: angels, feel, come undone, back for good, patience, clocks, viva la vida)

Umbrella beach flopping... well did anyone expect something different? It was expected since there is no kind of promo or airplay and 'Fireflies' was great while this beach is so so empty :P . Having listened to the whole Ocean eyes I feel fireflies is obviouly much stronger than any other song in it. Vanila Twilight would've done better but as sb has already said not 'better enough'. Fireflies is going to be the ytd no1 soon so no I don't think he/they should be really worried. First glee, then football, I wonder what's going to rock the charts after that... :lame: Even the lions remake with Robbie (I like 90% of his material!) is SO annoying. If lions peak higher than Morning Sun (not really possible).... lololololol :banghead: :banghead:

I don't like it that much. But I've never been a Kylie fan! It has a summer beat combined with whispered voice, it will be a radio hit. It is a first single + after a long time so with good promo it will top the charts. Usually at this time of the year we don't have high sales and big releases so it will surely hit top 3. My bet is on no1!!!

Gaga is the most hyped act worldwide (followed by BEPs probably). After all the hype and success and 1+year ,the xf and the brits, the grammies, the videos and much more.... would sell 1.4mil max! With the rerelease will go higher but still Buble has sold same amount, so have BEPs, Jls over a million (and many more)... even though album sales have declined. For me she definitely is a single's seller! I really have nothing against her but it is a fact. This is still very high (beyond most new artists reach) but not proportional to no1 worldwide hype. Comparing her album sales with acts like Eminem, U2, RW or Coldplay is only flattering ;) I wonder whether the remixed songs will receive any xtra airplay... It could push her singles even higher

No5 following current top4 albums! shes not a big album seller and the album isn't a new one so if sales pick up she could end up lower. I dont expect it to spend more than 2 weeks at top 10 (maximum) and another 2 at top 20...

Well... the chart will be bombarded by reallity show-promoted songs. There is Greek idol on and my information is that ratings are high and it is surprisingly (for Greece) influential. We shall see. I think you are wrong about american music in the greek charts though. BEPS, Gaga, Keisha (even flo-rida or Eminem in the near past) have been all over the place. On the contrary the best selling artist of the decade outside America, Robbie Williams, doesn't have a single no1 in Greece (actually not even 3 top ten hits!) which means a lot of european music is neglected in Greece. Also Hip-hop and DJ-dance music (David Guetta or Armin van Buren style) receive HUGE promotion in Greece. Thats why DJ-dance songs (Alors on danse now) top the charts all the time, it is really no surprise.
