'Glassheart' • Third Album
I hope (and believe) this is made up. I was sure that after her so called 'flop' press will start rumors like Robbie and Leona working on a Re-release Leona and KOL and so on... But this one is really pathetic, who would believe Leona would like to be more like gaga? There will be some evolution but this is just ridiculous! Perhaps she will also form a band because the Beatles have sold much more than Gaga and she wants to copy them instead.

Owl City - Umbrella Beach
Fireflies has been one of the best songs so far this year (I believe it will still be in November! :) ). BUT there is really no comparison between the 2... It is a typical light holiday song, nothing special. It always depends on the competition. Could end up top30 on the back of fireflies (which will propably chart higher the same week), but it could also flop. I don't see a single reason this song could do well really...

Will this ever be beaten?
Album sales have declined hugely since then.... I don't see anything that big coming. Lady Gaga is a single seller not an album seller. Remember that it took the 'so epic' album The Fame a year to break a milion sales on the back of some of the most succesful singles of the year worldwide and so much promo and videos and ... fame. I don't think she has anyway to promote her work more than she already does. Honestly 700 k in a week? I like Gaga but I feel the fame charting together with TFM is cheating! The fame would never have sold 1.6 mil on its own and the fame monster will probably sell another 1.2 to 1.6 million... Jls will manage that also, as will Buble, as will the Peas. I don't think x factor can achieve this either... If Leona couldn't sell half that amount.... Alexandra is not even close... Banana Joe is out of the question. We may have records in singles sales though... Also: a TT-Robbie collaboration (hopefully NOT a full reunion) will never reproduce Angels, and will probably burn most of Robbies strong points... Considering they have many fans in common 500K in the UK would exeed expectations...

iTunes Thread. March Part 3.
As a matter of fact he is not! He did a lot of promotion for Bodies, and at the end of this promotion he also included You know me. But he is not touring and he almost stopped all promotion after christmas. And its been months since then. Anyway the media love him and they would give anything to have them on their shows, so he is promoting and they are getting a great star guest to reinforce their shows. All gain from this situation (money fame etc) But how is he considered lucky anyway? Bodies was heads up with the xf winners first single therefore ended up at no2 and his album streak was broken because of a bunch of girls buying 5 jls coppies...In addition Morning sun is not doing as good as expected. He is definitelly not lucky, I would say LAZY is the right word because even the biggest album seller needs promotion to keep sales strong, and both Rob and EMI show signs of "lazyness". Whenever he performs albums and songs shoot up. Thats an amazing thing Peas and Gaga do: they WORK! so many markets, concerts, shows... their success is not random Back to the itunes: Why is Bieber not falling? Is he touring the UK?

iTunes Thread // March 2010 // Part I
Rude boy is a good song but the video is nothing special, it wouldn't help much. We all expect telephone to have a spectacular video though. Gaga's videos always make her songs shoot up. The song is not so powerful but a great video might push it forth (LIKE rock that body).

Artist bashing thread
I agree it was a good one-off and I am happy he didn't go on that way. I feel Rudebox is greatly underrated and Swing is overrated. It is difficult to explain how his most conservative and less creative album (and my least favorite) is regarded as his best... A lot of people think he is untalented, well they should think twice. A lot of criticism is understandable for the man with the most Brits the biggest concerts and best sales, if he is not your favorite artist you may feel he is overrated. Untalented is a bit naive to say though. He could be one of the best lyricists of the last 20 years, and his overall album work (which includes A LOT of songs) is in the majority wide and great. He may not have Leona's or Mariah's powerfull notes but the metal of his voice is awesome when he sings high (even falcetto) or sharp rock notes, and is always meaningfull and emontional (though not always in good condition or in tune, thats for sure!) I know he is a great entertainer but thats not the whole story about him, he IS an artist. The truth is that a lot of drinking, drugs weird statements and wrong decisions and a huge amount of toxic press hurt his image. But the media hate him and love him at the same time, the only thing I really care about is his music.

Don't missunderstand me, I like Robbie and I like some of the re-united take that pop ballads. But I DONT see how (besides a lot of noise and publicity) would a full reunion benefit any of them or music at all... Robbie has been greatly succesful since he left take that and he has a wider repertoire , which will definitely not match with TT (but is what made him popular and what people like him for). Also TT had phenomenal success without him sunce their reunion, so obviously they don't need him. if they want to be 'friends' thats fine with me, but why does this mean they have to be in the same band? Can you imagine Rob going back to singing back-vocals for Gary? Or TT standing still smiling in their shy way and clapping while Robbie is entertaining? Or even worse 5 Rock DJs? The great hype this possible future reunion is getting is just a media game (they will start hoping of a new Gary-Robbie fight after that) Musically it would be a sad lose-lose situation for TT and Rob. (my fav TT songs are their new ones without Robbie and my fav Robbie's songs are those that would never be in the bands repertoire) BTW I think Morning sun is ace, the best song from RKTVS

I love this thread as much as everyone here does! :) So.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at: 1)Will Young just because 2)Alexandra Burke because I hate her talking and personality 3)Cheryl Cole because she is amazingly overrated this year, athough I don't mind her miming -no offence but imagine her trying to sing! 4)Robbie and Take that for playing the join and breakup game again and again though both are talented and successful. 5)All US-kind annoying rappers that flood the charts 6)Mariah because I never had the chance to see her live when she was ace and now she's fading... 7)Fergie because she's married  8)Whitney for making the worst comeback ever and this list is far from ever  (although I like some of these artists)

Predict : Avril Lavigne - Alice
This is a great comeback single from Avril, a worthy one, though slightly different from what she's been most familiar with. I deserves top 5 and if there is good enough promo (also on the back of the film) it will get it. It is a comeback and this also helps. It could be even higher but it depends on the release date. Thumbup from me

iTunes Chart: February 2010 (IV)
WOW at the BEP's, I didn't think this would climb so fast, it will peak very high :o Is it the first time we'll see last years champs Gaga and BEP's heads up then? A grand chart battle :cheer: I hope Leona climbs higher... at least gets top 10.

The official video of the peas ''Imma be rock that body'' is out... and it's catchy as hell. Their marketing should set an example for other record companies :P Not the best songs from the album, but right now I can't see them missing the top. The video is ace but must be a bit too long to receive much tv play though. Perhaps they will seperate the two songs?

Do you like when Artists take different directions in their
Artists who are true artists should do what they are good at and what they can support with their skills. For example a slow song on a Gaga album is good and adds sth to her profile but it is the upbeat that are those who match her best and thats why she can have 9dance and 1balad proportion in her albums. Mariah has been the Queen for so long and she has experimented with rnb dance pop.. but bittersweet power ballads is her best, can't blame her for releasing some on every album. Every singer thats wants to prove she has vocal talent sings Mariah's songs on worldwide shows, and we have the 'new Mariah' talk every now and then, she has sold beyond most artists imagination, she wouldn't be no1 forever. Taylor swift has this fresh story-telling pop-country thing that is very popular. If she releases the same thing next year she will flop. This is her style but she can EVOLVE it, or fall behind. That is the answer to why 2nd albums usually never come close to the first one. The first one is 100% original the 2nd tries to copy the success of the first. Leona does't have great songs on this album, but I am proud of her for maintaining her musical identity. That is her music style and not upbeat. She didn't have a killer ballad in this album, if she did she would've easily gone no1 and there would be no comments about her flopping. It is not only the singer but also the album he\she presents. There are artists who can support a variety of music directions, but this is not nessecary for everyone. Look at the ''versatile'' Robbie having numberous 2milion sellers one after the other, then trying an electronic alternative album and flopping so badly. Gaga and Peas have brilliant sales with electronic albums including songs which bear resemblence to Rudebox. Timberlake's Sexyback was not that different too. If Rudebox had some britpop and ballads it would be a much different story. By all this I mean artists should experiment but not too much, it is more about updating and evolvin their style. I don't think Leona should become Gaga to sell, as much as I do like her alien style a world of Gagas would be a terrible place to live in. Sales are unpredictable though and they always will be, even for best selling artists their best songs are not always their bestsellers.
