  1. Weird as always! Nice one! It is amazing that she has decided to have a script in Paparazzi and Telephone, and its to be continued! Top3
  2. Rude boy is a good song but the video is nothing special, it wouldn't help much. We all expect telephone to have a spectacular video though. Gaga's videos always make her songs shoot up. The song is not so powerful but a great video might push it forth (LIKE rock that body).

  4. well...its on utube for those who want to listen to it: It is quite unusual, could be a Tom Jones or even Elvis song. It is sth different nevertheless

I agree it was a good one-off and I am happy he didn't go on that way. I feel Rudebox is greatly underrated and Swing is overrated. It is difficult to explain how his most conservative and less creative album (and my least favorite) is regarded as his best... A lot of people think he is untalented, well they should think twice. A lot of criticism is understandable for the man with the most Brits the biggest concerts and best sales, if he is not your favorite artist you may feel he is overrated. Untalented is a bit naive to say though. He could be one of the best lyricists of the last 20 years, and his overall album work (which includes A LOT of songs) is in the majority wide and great. He may not have Leona's or Mariah's powerfull notes but the metal of his voice is awesome when he sings high (even falcetto) or sharp rock notes, and is always meaningfull and emontional (though not always in good condition or in tune, thats for sure!) I know he is a great entertainer but thats not the whole story about him, he IS an artist. The truth is that a lot of drinking, drugs weird statements and wrong decisions and a huge amount of toxic press hurt his image. But the media hate him and love him at the same time, the only thing I really care about is his music.

Don't missunderstand me, I like Robbie and I like some of the re-united take that pop ballads. But I DONT see how (besides a lot of noise and publicity) would a full reunion benefit any of them or music at all... Robbie has been greatly succesful since he left take that and he has a wider repertoire , which will definitely not match with TT (but is what made him popular and what people like him for). Also TT had phenomenal success without him sunce their reunion, so obviously they don't need him. if they want to be 'friends' thats fine with me, but why does this mean they have to be in the same band? Can you imagine Rob going back to singing back-vocals for Gary? Or TT standing still smiling in their shy way and clapping while Robbie is entertaining? Or even worse 5 Rock DJs? The great hype this possible future reunion is getting is just a media game (they will start hoping of a new Gary-Robbie fight after that) Musically it would be a sad lose-lose situation for TT and Rob. (my fav TT songs are their new ones without Robbie and my fav Robbie's songs are those that would never be in the bands repertoire) BTW I think Morning sun is ace, the best song from RKTVS

I love this thread as much as everyone here does! :) So.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at: 1)Will Young just because 2)Alexandra Burke because I hate her talking and personality 3)Cheryl Cole because she is amazingly overrated this year, athough I don't mind her miming -no offence but imagine her trying to sing! 4)Robbie and Take that for playing the join and breakup game again and again though both are talented and successful. 5)All US-kind annoying rappers that flood the charts 6)Mariah because I never had the chance to see her live when she was ace and now she's fading... 7)Fergie because she's married  8)Whitney for making the worst comeback ever and this list is far from ever  (although I like some of these artists)
  8. This is a great comeback single from Avril, a worthy one, though slightly different from what she's been most familiar with. I deserves top 5 and if there is good enough promo (also on the back of the film) it will get it. It is a comeback and this also helps. It could be even higher but it depends on the release date. Thumbup from me
  9. WOW at the BEP's, I didn't think this would climb so fast, it will peak very high :o Is it the first time we'll see last years champs Gaga and BEP's heads up then? A grand chart battle :cheer: I hope Leona climbs higher... at least gets top 10.
  10. The official video of the peas ''Imma be rock that body'' is out... and it's catchy as hell. Their marketing should set an example for other record companies :P Not the best songs from the album, but right now I can't see them missing the top. The video is ace but must be a bit too long to receive much tv play though. Perhaps they will seperate the two songs?

    I feel lucky today, so my top15 albums for sunday: 1)Alicia 80k 6)Robbie 34k 11)Beps 20k 2)Glee 75k 7)Andre 30k 12)Jls 20k 3)Gaga 60k 8)Bubble 28k 13)Gabriel 20k 4)Flo 60k 9)Owl 25k 14)Sade 18k 5)Paolo 45k 10)Pixie 22k 15) Journey 18k
  12. Artists who are true artists should do what they are good at and what they can support with their skills. For example a slow song on a Gaga album is good and adds sth to her profile but it is the upbeat that are those who match her best and thats why she can have 9dance and 1balad proportion in her albums. Mariah has been the Queen for so long and she has experimented with rnb dance pop.. but bittersweet power ballads is her best, can't blame her for releasing some on every album. Every singer thats wants to prove she has vocal talent sings Mariah's songs on worldwide shows, and we have the 'new Mariah' talk every now and then, she has sold beyond most artists imagination, she wouldn't be no1 forever. Taylor swift has this fresh story-telling pop-country thing that is very popular. If she releases the same thing next year she will flop. This is her style but she can EVOLVE it, or fall behind. That is the answer to why 2nd albums usually never come close to the first one. The first one is 100% original the 2nd tries to copy the success of the first. Leona does't have great songs on this album, but I am proud of her for maintaining her musical identity. That is her music style and not upbeat. She didn't have a killer ballad in this album, if she did she would've easily gone no1 and there would be no comments about her flopping. It is not only the singer but also the album he\she presents. There are artists who can support a variety of music directions, but this is not nessecary for everyone. Look at the ''versatile'' Robbie having numberous 2milion sellers one after the other, then trying an electronic alternative album and flopping so badly. Gaga and Peas have brilliant sales with electronic albums including songs which bear resemblence to Rudebox. Timberlake's Sexyback was not that different too. If Rudebox had some britpop and ballads it would be a much different story. By all this I mean artists should experiment but not too much, it is more about updating and evolvin their style. I don't think Leona should become Gaga to sell, as much as I do like her alien style a world of Gagas would be a terrible place to live in. Sales are unpredictable though and they always will be, even for best selling artists their best songs are not always their bestsellers.
  13. I doubt she will, not today at least and 90% not in the officials. Fireflies had a huge lead on sunday monday and tuesday and is still leading if you notice the 2nd version (which is better btw) of Fireflies. If you add fireflies' pop bars together they are like Haiti! (the charity single still sells a lot of physicals, it is therefore a dead cert no1 anyway).Even if she gets at no1 (itunes) she will need a huge lead to cover, I cannot imagine that happening.

I am a little disappointed with Gaga... the acoustic telephone was boring. And I don't like Dance in the dark. I wanted sth more upbeat from her... Most of the performances were not so good. The highlights are Florence and Robbie's closing medley imo... does anyone here also feel that appart from that it was a boring ceremony?
  15. This one's much better (there is also part 2) but it ends with angels. Great performance! I loved the songs he picked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc6mQQbKlUE oh I guess sb here beat me on that! :D
  16. LOL Leona is not doing good, I would've guessed she would easily climb top20 this week... :o Nice to see Robbie ascending to the top. And Kesha's song is cheap but a nice dance tune, I like it much more than Telephone. The lyrics are a bit shocking but I expect it will sell A LOT, it is the definition of a dance-hit. :funky:

I don't quite understand though, in which category should SuBo be nominated in your opinion. The huge publicity served her well but... I don't think she should be nominated for any awards everyone who knows what her album is like and what an 'artist' she is would be annoyed. Tell me in which category you would nominate her though.

  19. It's not catchy but I love it, the photography is beautiful, I like it even more now. But I fear most people won't have my artistic taste and will just say it is boring. It is a 'classic Leona' video anyway... I'd love a surprise sometime in the future.

The Brits have been kind of inventing categories of honorary awards (that doesn't make them less important) to give Robbie credit for his previous work. It's been a long time since he last got a award for his current work and I don't see why people believe the academy worships Robbie, and are so sure he is going to win this. It would be a pleasant surprise for me though. I don't hate Jls, they've done very good so far. It's just not the music I would buy, go to see in a concert or vote for an award. And I predict they will take an award home at the night of the Brits :)
  21. It is SO annoying when they take down the videos before I manage to watch them! I don't expect anything overwhelming but she's always sweet to watch. Was it good? I don't see much of an impact not many managed to watch it propably...

Is Dizzee Rascal the favourite to win best male? I don't see why, he was the underdog imo. As much I would like Robbie to get this he hasn't been given a 'proper' Brit for many years, and I thought this award had Nutini's name on it... Jls (or Cheryl) will sadly win Best single, but I don't see Jls getting the breakthrough act. I think X F acts are usually snubbed, and I don't think there is any reason for it to stop this year. If they start getting a handful of Brits, the awards will lose their power.

I totally agree! It could end up top 5 imo

When she enters the official charts in europe let me know how she does then, it won't be an amazing chart run trust me! And I said what I read in her thread, I don't think she's charting everywhere in the itunes because UK fans buy from all foreign countries itunes. {Greece is not the only country she is sitting high--> for the time being she's not high getting even top 50 in the Greek itunes current chart for 2-3 days (and she's even lower) on an average week equalls to very few sales, and if there was a reliable chart I could post a link to she you would notice she probably won't even enter official top100!} @Lilmisshumeygold: I am not a jls fan but i think one shot must be about 10 times better than the jedward song. There are still better songs out, but I sadly expect this charity attempt to get very popular and beat not only these two but also the rest of the songs.
  25. thanx... I expect this will get massive (although it is like most of her previous stuff)
