Neil Fox on Nick Grimshaw for Robbie Williams comment
I doubt Rihanna will ever read or listen to this comment. Grim is really witch-hunting. Perhaps making all these negative comments about the most popular artists is how he plans to get attention on his show for now, and it is working. This battle of musical quality is far from over, I bet he will be bashed back by sb else sooner or later

Stadium Tour being announced on Monday?
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI would normaly pick Wembley but I am not that sure I will be on holidays already on June... It may be difficult to get tickets for Wembley either way... If so I will go for Milan. Already been at one of his shows there and it was amazing. Great, great audience :) I would rather see sb else with Robbie rather than Olly but I doubt they would be a supporting act. I am not a fan but Olly is ok-ish.

Robbie ..Live @ The O2
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatIt was realy good! I watched it on tv (no time or money for getting tichets for the live show at the time) and Robbie was at his best really. Very good vocaly and exceptionally entertaining. Plus despite being a bit chubby he looks the happiest , heathiest and youngest (!) he's been for ages. I am definitely getting tickets for the summer tour! How difficult was it to get tickets really?

Robbie Williams: UK & Worldwide Chart Runs
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI think he will end up higher than no10 this week (no7 or so) and possibly stay around there for the next week as well. I have a feeling that most of this weeks top 10 will be hugely froantloaded (for example 1D are currently droping from 150k to 50k!) and will make way for new entries next week. But then it is time for the Xmas albums as well... Regardless how bad the rest will do Robbie's sales need to pick up during the next weeks with different and the live shows. Candy is still very high in both tv- and airplay which may delay any impact 'Different' would have for the sales of TTC. Candy is actually about to get another top10 week and should easily become the best seller of Robbie's recent career. It has already sold more than 300k... a bit funny isn't it? Candy may sell a 450k+ total during the TTC era. Bodies wasn't a no1, Shame wasn't a no1, even The Flood wasn't a no1... and Candy got two weeks at the top  Strange world...

Sunday Chart Predictions
Yes I saw that, and changed my estimations... I still do not think they will do more than 140k and 70k respectively though. (supposing this 40/20k is the headstart they had over the *2 /*1 of Labrinth's popularity throughout the week)
-
Sunday Chart Predictions
Cannot see Labrinth doing much more than 60k, which could mean: Olly 130k GA, 1D 70k Not that great sales after all (if we bar out Labrinth of course)

Robbie Williams: UK & Worldwide Chart Runs
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatThis album does not follow the patterns of the recent Robbie-albums for the time being, so I wouldn't call it a flop yet. It may sell slow for now but there is a lot more coming from it... I imagine Candy appealed only outside his fanbase, that's why people bought the single instead of the album = huge single sales + bad album sales. Different may ballance the scales there, it should start getting heavy airplay by next week.

Neil Fox on Nick Grimshaw for Robbie Williams comment
Robbie is 39 and not "Madonna's age" to start with. Grim HAS a problem with Robbie, or at least pretends to it is obvious, how can you fail to see it? "I have never listened to any of his songs but I like him"; it is Grims words. I believe Robbie DOES appeal to younger listeners, at least the people I know are in their twenties and a lot of the like his songs (as do Coldplay, definitely not 1D). It is ridiculous to assume the audience pick songs because of the artists' age, but even if you do Robbie is not even 40 yet  . As for 1D being the next TT, it is not happening in terms of UK success, not even if they last for 10 or 12 albums everybody can see why. Considering even TT broke appart at some point I do no see how 1D could continue that long. It is a 2nd rare thing in a row that Robbie and then TT (as 4) came back with great success which makes the whole scenario even more unlikely for 1D. In terms of music, TT and Robbie have managed to do some teenage pop and then switch to a different style, I cannot see how 1D could do that leap considering they are mostly puppets... As far as the US success is concerned, Cyrus has done WAY more than them but she will be forgotten (if she isn't already) quite fast. Disney-ish acts trageting 12 year olds come and go very fast. I do not really see 1D's amazing start honestly: JLS must have outsold them (in the UK) in terms of everything and they are experiencing the XF aftershock (as does Leona). 1D's fist album was nowhere near a huge success if you compare it with Olly, JLS, Leona, Alexandra's first albums etc.
-
Neil Fox on Nick Grimshaw for Robbie Williams comment
B-) You realise that it should take 4 1D albums to sell as much as TT's last one though? In my opinion One Direction could either last until album no3 or continue for a few more years with little success (this could easily break them appart which brings us back to the 1st scenario). Appart from their musical (inexistent imo) talent it may be difficult to keep these boys together as well. Plus they will be too grown up for 12 year olds just like Justin Bieber will be. Could they switch repertoire at that point? I think nobody will care either way... Madonna gets some random hits every now and then and she is a lot older (and more irrelevant to the UK audience) than Robbie. Even if his sales shrink after 10 years or so he will still have at least as much success. Legends do not die away. Even if they physicaly do their songs rechart

On the other hand they will be much more frontloaded than Bruno. It will definitely be close between the 2, both selling 50k+ more than no3, which could be Labrinth feat Emeli. B-)

 Bruno haters will be gutted once more, I think he is going to get another no1 this week.

Congrats to Robbie on his 10th #1 album
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI imagine he must have sold 141k albums last week as well  Hopelfull Different will get some success in December. 1D are releasing their album this week but there is a good chance Robbie will hold on to the top spot if his sales do not decrease critically. 1D have never been that great album sellers, and if they follow this years pattern of XF acts...

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 4th November 2012
Candy almost back to no1 combined (possibly already if you count the EP as well as physical sales). I believe Robbie will get a 2nd week at no1 although sales should be very close. Candy is doing way better than I would have expected...

Gordon Smart Out's the BBC
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatMoyles was really unbearable.. and so is Grimshaw. On Grim: Playing all low-quality music and drenched to the skin in it he suddenly confesses he likes Robbie but not his music... So is Robbie too old for R1 (10 years older than Grim) or just rubbish? How can a person who is living on this island and is willing to climb the ladder of the MAINSTEAM (and most commonly low-quality) radio say he has never listened to a Robbie song really? :o Grim is just rude and disgusting. Plus the fact that he is 'kind' enough to 'like the old mans personality even if he doesn't like his music' doesn't make things any better. On R1's choice to make this demographic map: FAIL. (I wouldn't be shocked if they change this policy very soon) Calling a 40 y.o. man too old is offensive for the audience as well, almost racism. Music has no such borders. What if they do not playlist the likes of Madonna, Coldplay or Robbie to make room of Minaj or Bieber? The joke's on them! I hate playlists to start with... If Grim and co. were any relevant or important themselves they wouldn't need them, they would have the right judgement, taste and authority to choose what to play rather than just push the play button. On Candy: If the point was x-29 R1 , 29-x R2 it would still be more suitable for R1  Like almost every review has pointed out, Candy is, not representative of TTC. (thank god)

Which current Female Artists will have the most longevity?
Emeli and Adele. Adele's 21 success will be enough to keep her going for a few more years. I expect her future albums will (at least) sell well enough to be 'hits'. (despite nowhere near 21). And Emeli because she HAS something to say as an artist. She can write music, fine lyrics and hit songs. I doubt she can ever be as mainstream (/popular) as Adele but it will be a terrible waste of tallent if she is somehow forgotten during the next 5 years.

"Fireflies" • Discussion Thread
The demo of it has leaked a long time ago. I listened to this song (the demo version) about 14 months ago for the first time, so it is no wonder it has collected so many views. Do not get me wrong, I like lovebirds but it is too much like 'Better in Time' and is not any news for Leona. It is a good wrap-up of what she's been in the past. Fireflies is a special modern ballad of what she is now imo as an artist. You could expect that a mid-tempo like Lovebirds would attract radioplay but Trouble didn't. Looks like a lot more than just the radio stations have lost interest over who Leona is and a deja-vu song cannot do anything against this. People need to see her reinvented side, some steps forward (and the album IS a lot of steps forward damn it!) but Lovebirds is not. If the first single was a success she could follow with Lovebirds indeed because we fans love it but I fear the rest won't even get a glimpse of it in this 'snobbery' climate.

Robbie Williams - Take the Crown
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatHaving a look at how TTC is doing at itunes WW (only representative to his status, obviously it is physical album sales that matter the most): No1 Netherlands Germany Austria Top 5 UK Denmark Finland Ireland Italy Luxenburg Portugal Swizerland Top10 Greece Norway Spain Sweden Top15 France Australia Belgium New Zealand He has two entries one close to the other in the chart so he is much higher combined ;) He should chart high in UK, Ireland, Italy and the 'German Teritory' on Sunday. :D

"Fireflies" • Discussion Thread
Fireflies is really special, Lovebirds is a nicely polished deja-vu imo. Wrong choice once more... Lovebirds is a good song with a catchy chorus of course but it is not special in any way. Hopefully it will turn out well in the end.

iTunes Album Chart: 2013
I am confident Robbie will do much better than JLS this time ;) (I remember he was ahead at day1 even when JLS beat him in the end so he should be 2-3 times ahead this time) But the whole thing with Ne Yo is shocking really. Everyone I know dislikes him  Why would they? I am not a big fan but I do not find him hate-able really. Plus he is really easy to ignore...
