Adele - Skyfall
It sounds to me much like a 'sledgehammer' song. If the swing is successful it could be considered as a future classic, it definitely has the groove of diamonds are forever. I think the choir part may not be the best for a radio song but it gives the epic feature it should considering it is a bond theme. I love how the music is both chill out (diamonds are forever /sway style) and epic (trumpets and blured noise). Lyrically it is fine, certainly outweights most of the bond themes anyway. It is in my opinion the most glorious of all the bond-themes. I addition to this the singing is less intense than the music at parts so that it could be used throughout trailers, videos or even the very film itself. The 'epic' part may be too much for the radio but the fact it is Adele singing may take down this wall. Simple, yet with a strong flavour of mystery this song is more than what I would have expected. I am a fan of the 'epic' genre though, I am not sure how good will it go down with the casual radio audience. Will vote for no1 but I hope Leona gets a chance in the coming weeks for the no1 spot with 'Trouble'

Next week's #1
The 1D album will be a completely different story. There are big releases around them, there is even a chance they won't get to no1 for a single week. ^_^

Adele is a weird case, I have to second the opinion that she does not have a regular fanbase. During 2012 she was massive and appealed to a lot o people but I do not see why people are expecting her to do it again. 19 was successful yet not huge before 21 was released and it was still Adele. It has sold more on the 21 era than it did when it was promoted ^_^ . She did evolve during the time between the two albums but they bear a striking resemblance to each other imo (with 21 having 2-3 better songs). I imagine her huge sales are because of the hype around this album and the fact she could target all groups at the same time (and of course it was a good one too), but how many people would really say "Adele is my favourite artist"? I don't think there are many of them honestly, much less than the millions she sold anyway (in contrast with 1D, JLS etc in which case most fans are in love with them). She is considered a diva now and is already greatly successful but how possible is it that she retains this crazy momentum anyway? (even statisticaly I don't think it has happened many times before) Adele sold enough to get a place in the most successful albums of all time in the UK and one of the best selling albums worldwide during the last years but it is questionable (my opinion is no) whether the very material of the album is really of such high standards. It may come down to personal opinion but for example I would rank Winehouse (who is also recent) and Back to Black ahead of Adele.

Predictions based only on Adelle's status? I hope it is a good song, but I find most Bond songs really stupid to be fair. Will it be Adelle's first non-break-up themed song though? :teresa:

Rihanna - 'Diamonds'
I have to admit I wanted a ballad to be the 1st single of her new album, I am a little tired of all the up-bit songs she has been releasing lately. It is definitely not a killer song, but it is different in an interesting way. I think they tried to make a Florence-sounding tune here but the music fails to deliver, AND please get a lyricist for the next song Rihanna  It should end up top3 but will most likely miss the no1 spot if it is released against Adelle/1D

'Glassheart' • Third Album
I am so far impressed by the clips of the songs on youtube I listened to. I wonder how many of these songs are new... I am under the sad impression that the album was ready a year ago but they still released the ''Hurt trio'' instead after the ''//Avici Collide'' ...

Predict: One Direction - Live While We're Young
I am happy to say this has nothing on 'what makes you beautiful'. The video is catchier than the song (taking into account the target group) itself. I am not so sure these kids will evolve to the next BSB people are expecting them to...(in fact I am pretty sure they won't). This single will do well (should get to no1 for a week) because there still is some interest for them, but the fact it is not any good will backfire on them at the future releases. I can see them doing a 'Burke tumble' in 2013. If this is the catchiest song of the album it won't sell much in 2012 either.

Robbie Williams - Candy
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatBy the way the single artwork is a big fail. I can see us getting a lot of Robbie Goblet-Heads for each release of this area. It it a clever and creative concept but the very result of this single is 'hey ho Robbie is ill don't get too close Spongebob'.

"Trouble" (featuring Childish Gambino) • First Single
Stunning live video, convertred to mp3 at once! "Im a whole lot of trouble, we're in a whole lot of trouble" is not the most creative line in music history but the rest of the song is of high standards. Creates some momentum and expectations fot the forthcoming album at least. :)

Robbie Williams - Candy
7heDreamer posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatCatchiest Robbie single ahead of RDJ. It reminds me of some Robbie songs such as RDJ and Hot Fudge at parts but mostly the rythm and the way he sings it reminds me of a lot of funny songs my little sister listened to when she was 4 years old  (e.g the gummy bear stuff). I think I like it, it is fun, instant and a definite chart topper but perhaps a bit too catchy for me. It is 'embarassingly infectious'

The 2011 Buzzjack Chart Awards: Best Album
Adele - 21 Probably going to sweep every award isn't she. It is a good album, I am still happy if this wins Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops And Hooligans Bruno being on this list doesn't surprise me, still not oneof my favourite albums Amy Winehouse - Lioness: Hidden Treasures No comment, just a BAD idea from every point of view Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto Good album (lyrically weak, musicaly strong although some of the electronic music actually ruins their songs) Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials My favourite, I voted for it. Interesting concept surrounded by good videos and singles. Lady Gaga - Born this Way I prefer this to The Fame, but obviously everyone else doesn't  Not my favourite, still ok. Will Young - Echoes Doesn't fit the list imo (if we bar out Wino)

Albums where the 4th (or later) singles have gone to #1...
Because the singles kept getting better. :cheer: (One Step Closer < Crawling < Papercut < In The End) The album was a huge success anyway if I remember well. Must be one of the most successful alternative albums of all time. Coldbray after Bubre  Epic nickname

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (I)
Why? I do not see Olly selling more than 40k for any reason. That would mean Coldplay are in the course for ~100k (if the are not frontloaded because of the big XF performance) and Lil-Mix are in the course of ~280k-300k because of (a) the physicals (b) it should be frontloaded and loose some ground after thursday. They have a huge lead over the last week contenders which were selling really week for a top5...

So little mix are on the course of 300k? Worse sales each year for the XF winner...

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (I)
What a beautiful top2! I wonder how much will Coldplay album sales pick up after today... I think they could get anywhere from no2 (if Amy drops a lot) to no5! :cheer:

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (I)
No it doesn't! He has an album out, and it is selling in blistering pace. Buble's singles usually (except from Haven't Met You Yet lately) do not sell much. On the contrary Leona's album is not out yet and it is doubtfull whether the 'Hurt trio' will be included in her album or not. Leona is an album seller, but is doing really well with singles too. I wouldn't really compare the two since they are completely different artists and Buble is promoting a seasonal album.
