I hope she gets that no1 although I have to admit I haven't listenned to the whole album yet + 1st single was possibly her worst to date. She's done lots of promo and she is releasing on a super-easy week. It is a bit of 'NOW OR NEVER' really. (I expect 70k-ish sales)
  2. Definitely! Glassheart should have been first single followed by a ballad (Fireflies/Lovebirds) for the festive Christmas period and then another catchy up-tempo (hard to pick one). Collide was not good and the hurt trio was a stupid idea but Trouble is not a bad song. In fact it is a very good one, but it doesn't have the required power of a first single. Even if trouble received mixed reviews I am confident Leona will turn the tides. This album is too good to drop like a stone, it just needs to get into the spotlight so that people realise it is indeed good. Terrible management spreads like a superinfectious disease nowadays  Glassheart should normaly sail to no1 next week even if Leona does not sell as much as we expect (60k should be enough)... The only competition should be Taylors 2nd week (not that big in the UK) and Mumford and Sons n-week (their sales should normaly decrease further with time). Longevity at the chart will be the real challege...
  3. Your sig says hi. :teresa:
  4. Links are illegal, Buy the album!             (if you are searching for an illegal download link they are always in the same shady places they used to be)
  5. Even if Taylor sells more than the Nicki/Justin total in her first week sales in the US? I do not think Nicki is much of a fuss outside the US, definitely not comparable with Rihanna. (Surprisingly enough) Bieber is a teen idol. But teen idol is completely different to being an artist. He is a manufactured, supermanaged act (no wonder one direction, who can actually sing much better than he does, are the most comparable/compatible acto to him). And the truth is that even his teenage fanbase accepts it is more of the act/roleplay/or whatever you want to call it they like than his singing or songwriting ( ) Correct me if I am wrong but I think that even Biebers sales (US, UK or worldwide) are not that impressive. Taylor, Rihanna, Adele, Gaga etc sell WAY more. As far as the 'talk' is concerened you just witnessed the very way it is generated. A provocative comment (even if not on purpose) followed by 4-5 replys against him. Popularity can be both positive and negative and Bieber currenty has to be the 'most hated' around. Haters do not take away sales. If they did he would be on negative ground.

Sweet nothing for no1 next week ;) but Emeli's 'Wonder' is a biter nothing really. An album full of beautiful songs and now she releases this? (even if it is supposed to be Naughty boy feat Emeli)
  7. It is her best album nevertheless (yet). Loved it on first listen. Will write more about it when I get a little free time but it is really good. :cheer:
  8. What are the chances of Taylor Swift getting the no1 album two weeks from now? Her singles have better than they usually do in the UK and it looks like she has created some momentum now.

    Umber-trolling huh? :teresa:
  10. OUTSIDE :P It would make no sense though, since promo has not really started yet...
  11. It has been already released outside the uk? :o
  12. Thats what it looks like... It could be ''Sweet Nothing'' followed by JLS, Robbie & Rihanna and I doubt Skyfall will be able to sell more than 50k/week after all this time in the charts. I wouldn't be shocked if her next single never goes to no1 either. She is usually not frontloaded enough to win tough no1 battles. (although she sells much more in the long run) Hopefully Leona will at least get a top5 single this week. (she is still no5 on itunes and should climb again after friday) I wonder if radio play will increase after that. They rarely snub top5 hits...

:o I thought she would get the no1 this week but it seems more likely that Sweedish House Mafia will get it instead now! I expect she should start decreasing in sales by next week so she may never get to no1 if she doesn't get it this week... Imagine Adele doing a 2-2-2-3-4
  14. Remember how well/bad 'Happy' and 'I got you' did , still Echo sold over 2*platinum (and the album was dead even before the second single was released). Shipping only 300.000 units of Glassheart is an insane prediction imo. Plus it looks like (from what we've listened to) the album is a good one. promo won't be over after 'trouble'. The good thing is that everyone has lowered their expectations now so Leona will do better than what people expect. If 2nd single isn't a top10 hit she could still ship 500.000 albums ut if it is this album should sell even more than Echo.
  15. It is not exactly underperforming. Would you expect it to outsell the top 3 in a few hours? The top5 without Leona would look like (at the end of the week): Adelle (100k?) Sweedish house mafia (85k) Rihanna (75k) PSY (60k) 1D (45k) I think no4 is within reach even now but she will need a big boost to break into the top3. It is a tough chart week nevertheless...
  16. Anyone got a link? I missed it  Got one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtxRsxJmb64

It sounds to me much like a 'sledgehammer' song. If the swing is successful it could be considered as a future classic, it definitely has the groove of diamonds are forever. I think the choir part may not be the best for a radio song but it gives the epic feature it should considering it is a bond theme. I love how the music is both chill out (diamonds are forever /sway style) and epic (trumpets and blured noise). Lyrically it is fine, certainly outweights most of the bond themes anyway. It is in my opinion the most glorious of all the bond-themes. I addition to this the singing is less intense than the music at parts so that it could be used throughout trailers, videos or even the very film itself. The 'epic' part may be too much for the radio but the fact it is Adele singing may take down this wall. Simple, yet with a strong flavour of mystery this song is more than what I would have expected. I am a fan of the 'epic' genre though, I am not sure how good will it go down with the casual radio audience. Will vote for no1 but I hope Leona gets a chance in the coming weeks for the no1 spot with 'Trouble'

I think they will. Next week or the one after that... (they have a far too good relationship for R1 not to). He should have released the song two weeks sooner imo. He is possibly too lazy to promote this and the album seperately so he releases them back to back  If R1 snubs Candy (I doubt it) they are set to A-list his next single for a long-long time.

The 1D album will be a completely different story. There are big releases around them, there is even a chance they won't get to no1 for a single week. ^_^
  20. Adele is a weird case, I have to second the opinion that she does not have a regular fanbase. During 2012 she was massive and appealed to a lot o people but I do not see why people are expecting her to do it again. 19 was successful yet not huge before 21 was released and it was still Adele. It has sold more on the 21 era than it did when it was promoted ^_^ . She did evolve during the time between the two albums but they bear a striking resemblance to each other imo (with 21 having 2-3 better songs). I imagine her huge sales are because of the hype around this album and the fact she could target all groups at the same time (and of course it was a good one too), but how many people would really say "Adele is my favourite artist"? I don't think there are many of them honestly, much less than the millions she sold anyway (in contrast with 1D, JLS etc in which case most fans are in love with them). She is considered a diva now and is already greatly successful but how possible is it that she retains this crazy momentum anyway? (even statisticaly I don't think it has happened many times before) Adele sold enough to get a place in the most successful albums of all time in the UK and one of the best selling albums worldwide during the last years but it is questionable (my opinion is no) whether the very material of the album is really of such high standards. It may come down to personal opinion but for example I would rank Winehouse (who is also recent) and Back to Black ahead of Adele.
  21. Predictions based only on Adelle's status? I hope it is a good song, but I find most Bond songs really stupid to be fair. Will it be Adelle's first non-break-up themed song though? :teresa:

I have to admit I wanted a ballad to be the 1st single of her new album, I am a little tired of all the up-bit songs she has been releasing lately. It is definitely not a killer song, but it is different in an interesting way. I think they tried to make a Florence-sounding tune here but the music fails to deliver, AND please get a lyricist for the next song Rihanna  It should end up top3 but will most likely miss the no1 spot if it is released against Adelle/1D
  23. Do I see alliens constructing the pyramids on his left hand? I thought he has quit these sophisticated theories....
  24. I am so far impressed by the clips of the songs on youtube I listened to. I wonder how many of these songs are new... I am under the sad impression that the album was ready a year ago but they still released the ''Hurt trio'' instead after the ''//Avici Collide'' ...
  25. I am happy to say this has nothing on 'what makes you beautiful'. The video is catchier than the song (taking into account the target group) itself. I am not so sure these kids will evolve to the next BSB people are expecting them to...(in fact I am pretty sure they won't). This single will do well (should get to no1 for a week) because there still is some interest for them, but the fact it is not any good will backfire on them at the future releases. I can see them doing a 'Burke tumble' in 2013. If this is the catchiest song of the album it won't sell much in 2012 either.
