April 8, 201114 yr Just finished listening to Semi 1. Incredibly high quality - only 3 or 4 songs that I would rate less than 8/10, mainly because they went over my head and I can't remember a thing about them. There was one song I severely disliked though, mainly because it forced me to take my earphones out as the production was headache inducing.

April 8, 201114 yr Semi final 1 09/10 - The audio quality in the chorus, didn't let it shine as much as it could have, it was like the chorus was trying to escape the limitations; the verses was 10/10 stuff. 09/10 - Marvellous pop song, the production and voice are great, absorbed me completely. Sounds like Katy Perry (a more upbeat version of Who Am I Living For? perhaps) 08/10 - Along with the first 7.5 song, it's the most polished pop in the first 10. I love the instrumental. There is a Glee feel to it, for a lack of a better comparison. It's just lacking the initial 'oomph' I need to give it top marks. The vocals and the production don’t seem to complement each other as well as other songs do. They don’t feel like one. I'm leaning towards the top one for Ashton, but i've narrowed it down to just these three. Saying this, it'll turn out to be a 7/10
April 8, 201114 yr :roffle: Hitstastic entry :heehee: Certainly not, in what way is that anything but extremely pleasant on the ear? :P

April 8, 201114 yr Actually looking forword to this, Aquafina is quite please with its entry as this is its debut and i'm hoping the feedback will help me!!
April 8, 201114 yr Looking forward to the results you mean? Anyway, listened to the whole of Semi 2 last night, and like Rich, I found it incredibly high quality. There's one awful song, but the rest are easily over 8. I have about 15 different songs I want to vote for :/

I think it's quite possibly Gold Panda :o Actually, most likely him.
April 8, 201114 yr I was just taking a stab in the dark :P In that case, may I recommend you actually listen to 'Riverside' by Agnes Obel before making a really bizzare comment? :P That's as hilarious as those Adele "dance anthem" comments in the iTunes thread - quite worryingly there were still posters who didn't get the joke. :drama:
April 8, 201114 yr Is Agnes Obel representing you Hitstastic. If so then top tune. (Sorry, can we have a list somewhere of who is which nation for us thickies who can't quite grasp it?)

April 8, 201114 yr Is Agnes Obel representing you Hitstastic. If so then top tune. (Sorry, can we have a list somewhere of who is which nation for us thickies who can't quite grasp it?) She is indeed. I came across 'Riverside' thanks to my interest of different European charts and Agnes Obel was #2 in Denmark three weeks ago (slipped to #10 last week :drama: ). I do think it's a lovely song - very Tori Amos in its style which is why I found Mikey's comment rather odd to say the least. Agnes Obel. :o Didn't recognise her at first! RIVERSIDE MOTHERFUCKER. Oh, I haven't a clue who Agnes Obel is. I just like 'Riverside' a lot. :D

I found it by looking at youtube when I chose Fallulah for BJSC XXXII and I was strongly considering to enter it myself this time.
April 8, 201114 yr And grebo69, I think pretty much everyone has that problem to start with, it takes a few contests, but eventually you start picking up who is who. To be honest, the whole entire contest could be run anonymously and it wouldn't change a thing to me. I don't think "oh, this is GD's entry so he gets my top marks" and that's without listening to the song. Otherwise it becomes a faux-popularity contest rather than a song contest (I'm not saying that's how people vote ;) ). All I mean is that even with seeing the countries names, I judge each song on its own merit - if I like the song, well done to whoever sent it. If I don't, tough $h!t.
April 8, 201114 yr Riverside is at least half a year old and it only charted now?! Honeslty, 'Riverside' peaked at #2 in Denmark three weeks ago. I was under the impression it was a relatively new song. :o

April 8, 201114 yr I haven't got round to listening to semi 1 tracks yet, plus I didn't know what country you called yourself, that's the reason I said a stab in the dark :( Fair enough. I'm Batidas which is supposed to be Hits in Portuguese but turns out it means milkshake. Babelfish Online Translator FAIL. :(
