Starting to have seen less and less as we go further back but here goes anyway
1 The Descendants 2 Midnight in Paris 3 Moneyball 4 The Help 5 Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close 6 War Horse Not seen: Hugo, The Tree of Life, The Artist The top four are basically even for me and would probably swap around on a different day. I've put The Descendants at the top as it genuinely made me laugh at times and I found the story rather interesting too. MIP in second as it has the usual brilliance of a Woody Allen film but I didn't laugh as much so I've had to put it second. Moneyball wasn't the most thrilling film but there were some exciting moments and I found it interesting to see how it changed the game for sports. The Help is a film I really like but just perhaps a little too long, could do with some trimming as it is a little difficult to sit through. War Horse I haven't seen since the cinema but I did like it and the book so should probably re-visit it! In terms of snubs, there isn't really anything else that was realistically going to make the cut but personally I prefer movies like Alber Nobbs, My Week with Marilyn, Beginners, Bridesmaids, Harry Potter etc. that were nominated in other categories. |
