Posted March 22, 201114 yr Mad Men // http://media.screened.com/uploads/0/50/306920-madmen_logo_497x279_super.jpg Mad Men obviously needs no introduction but thanks to the absolutely awful search system on Buzzjack I haven't been able to find out if there is already a preexisting thread. SORT IT OUT. Anyway. Probably one of the best television show's of the past decade has now been DELAYED INDEFINITELY. I can't deal with that. The reported holdup (no surprise here) is money. Mad Men has always been more of a critical and artistic success than a ratings success, as a result AMC has suggested it is not a financial goldmine and thus negotiations have been going on for months. SOB. I need new episodes this summer or I'll explode. I could happily watch just Mad Men and Arrested Development for the rest of my life and not be bothered. Does anyone else watch it? If not, I've attached a trailer from the first season and immediately urge you to do so. LfuMhXcLa-Q Edited March 22, 201114 yr by ▲▲▲
March 22, 201114 yr I watched most of season one when it aired and then lost track but recently I decided to get back into it on account of the fact that (a) it's fucking ace and (b) my housemate has the box set of all the seasons. I'm still on season one at the minute but it's fantastic. Can't wait to get through the rest, especially since I've read a few pretty exciting spoilers about what happens to certain characters later on. AMC do amazing drama. I'm firing my way through Breaking Bad at the minute too.
March 22, 201114 yr This reminds me of how close Damages was to being cancelled, and considering Mad Men has a bigger profile (I'm sure DVD sales must be fantastic for this?) a deal should be made someway or another. Hopefully. This is on my To Watch list (currently working my way through In Treatment); the production design, sets and costume/make-up seems so stylish from the clips I've seen, it's a show that must be so beautiful to look at. Also, Breaking Bad, another show that I need to see...and Arrested Development *sigh* Btw love your sig ▲▲▲, Julianne Moore was (and looked) fantastic in A Single Man, should have got an Oscar nod for that performance. March 23, 201114 yr Damages was cancelled :manson: It was thankfully saved by a different network as that show is f***ing genius. The boxset of Madmen is on sale in HMV and keeps tempting me.
May 29, 201114 yr Author I've started watching season one again and completely forgot how slow it starts! The third episode bored me to tears. I remember falling in love with it around mid-season though when Don's brother visits (and when Penny gets a bigger role). I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL JANUARY FOR ANOTHER SEASON. ACK.
