Blue coming 22nd with the juries is an utter TRAVESTY.

Well, I'm utterly outraged. The juries really are failing in their brief (I can't find it right now, but they definitely are given a set of criteria to judge upon in deciding their votes, aren't they?) completely with such massive inconsistency - loving up Jedward and Italy at the same time? Completely trashing Blue and Russia? Ridiculous.

And I think we can ALL BE ANGRY that we were ROBBED of the most exciting result in years by the juries Although I'd have probably had a heart attack and screamed with Azerbaijan triumphing on that one.

It would have been a tense finish if we'd just had televoting too! 2 points between Azerbaijan and Sweden!
Quite surprised the televoters weren't very impressed with the Danish entry. Austria and Slovenia doing deservedly better with the juries but the fact they put us in 22nd is beyond a joke. Russia last though Really annoying how the jury stopped Norway, but thank goodness they saved Estonia! Belgium and Malta did better on televoting than I expected, I thought both were definite 0 pointers. 84 points for Malta from the jury though, really? Also, juries not taking to the Bosnian and Latvian entries much surprises me a bit. 2 points in the final for Switzerland in the televoting is also very harsh! |

Oh Bosnia's a REAL surprise. I knew it'd pull in the televoters but I always thought it'd get just as much love from the juries. Really, short of sending in Michael Buble or someone with hot vox there's really no way of telling what the juries will go for now.
I actually could've lived without Estonia really. It always had a hint of fan favourite blown out of proportion to it, and I was expecting Armenia and Turkey anyway - and to get Norway and Belarus in with them as well would've more than made up for Estonia missing out. On the upside at least Switzerland got through. Poor Netherlands though! |

2 points for Switzerland in the final isn't too surprising, it's not very instant and was probably overshadowed by Blue.
The juries are really making truly ridiculous decisions though, they need to try and 1) enforce their judging criteria more stringently or 2) try and compose them of PROPER fans and 'music experts' |

Oh dear! Was the jury high or something at the point of voting?! What awful, awful results from them. I wouldn't have mind about the televoting results as the UK had the top 10 position that we deserved! Also, big woah at how close it would have been between Azerbaijan & Sweden had it just been televotes!
I think it's safe to say that we were genuinely ROBBED. I can't believe how low we were with the jury. Also; do we think the Jury gave Italy the most points, just to get them back and keep them in the competition? |

Not at all. It is the sort of thing I'd expect to do well with juries and 'real music' fans. Jedward not so much.

That said I'm not in QUITE as bad a mood anymore as I've realised I'd have lost money anyway as neither Russia nor the UK were top four. Oh well!
Which reminds me, you still owe me £20 Tom for me to break even |

Also; do we think the Jury gave Italy the most points, just to get them back and keep them in the competition? I think so, yes the juries would like that sort of entry, but not THAT much surely?! Also quite a few unexpected high results were dished out by them to failing countries this year, with Malta and Belgium being the most baffling. I'm also quite surprised Slovakia got that level of support from them. |

I'm also quite surprised Slovakia got that level of support from them. That said, the juries did quite like Albania last year (they had them 4th in their semi and 12th in the final), and Malta was essentially the Albanian entry done by a man so it's not that out of the ordinary I'm shocked the juries weren't at all swayed by France! |

Judging by Switzerland getting just two points on the televote I think we can probably conclude that we gave them their sole two points and they must have gotten 12 from our jury for us to give them 10...

Denmark SO low down there, they did terribly in the televote! It was always completely obvious that Italy landslided the jury vote, thank GOD they weren't top ten on the televote. But seriously, what the hell at the UK? Absolutely disgusted How can they be so out of sync with the televoters? It IS an anthemic song and I thought that they gave a great performance, surely their performance in the jury rehearsal wasn't that bad as to completely ruin the song, Azerbaijan's vocals were ropey throughout and it didn't seem to harm them.
Lithuania topping the Semi 1 jury vote? I love it but where did they find these people on the juries this year - gathering cobwebs in the corner of an antiques shop? How old fashioned can their taste be. And Stella with her deserved place in the final thanks to the televoters! Well, I stand by what I said in that case - the contest IS still contemporary, but the juries had to go and spoil the party with their ludicrous voting across the board. For once this year, the televoters got it right. I hope Blue see these split results (can somebody tweet them a link? ) and aren't too disheartened as the UK coming top five on the televote alone, which even Jade couldn't do, is a massive achievement. Would it really be that much of a logistical nightmare for the juries and televoters to both vote on the night of the final, rather than across two separate days? God help those that have an off day in the jury rehearsal. |

Not surprised to see the Juries f***ed us over after what I hear was a god awful rehearsal, but they seem to be comlpetley failing in what they're there for.

It really shows that despite performing right in the middle, Blue came top 5 and if Blue performed where Ukraine performed they could have been top 2 in the tele voting.
So, I really do think it's possible for the UK to win again, they just need everything to go their way |

I don't think the UK should've been 22nd because the rehearsal wasn't THAT bad, but 12 - 16 would've been more realistic (the rehearsals for Blue really weren't that great). They pulled it out of the bag in the live show though, which is why I think they did well in the televote. With regards Azerbaijaysus, I think they had a good rehearsal from what I can remember. Ireland doing better with the juries than in the televote is a complete shock! I assumed that because Lipstick was such a hit after the contest that it cleaned up the televote and did average with the juries. That said, they had a good rehearsal too. But it would've been a Top 10 finish either way so I'm happy.
The juries got a lot right this year though. Denmark, Austria and Slovenia did abysmally in the televote, only to be saved by the juries. There's always been huge differences in how the public and juries would vote - I thought that's why they were there in the first place? . I understand the frustration (I really do), but the jury result is actually very good. I'd swap the UK with Romania (because I didn't like Romania), and Switzerland with Azerbaijan (because the latter's performance was dull and awful), but that's it. I'd have to disagree with most of you in that you can't just be ticked off because they didn't like your entry. A lot of people worked themselves up into a frenzy thinking Blue would win, despite what us nay-sayers were saying. I will probably be lynched for saying this, but Keith Mills wouldn't have been that far off with regards the UK if we had juries only. Note: I loved the UK entry, so please don't hate me for the above post. |
